Mexican author and Toltec spiritual teacher whose 1997 book The Four Agreements has sold more than ten million copies and remained on the New York Times bestseller list for over a decade. Born in 1952 to a curandera mother in rural Mexico, trained as a surgeon, and shaped by a near-death experience in his late twenties that led him to study with his mother in the Toltec lineage of his ancestors, he has spent four decades simplifying ancient Toltec wisdom for a global audience.
