Francis Lucille is a spiritual teacher in the tradition of Advaita Vedanta, also known as non-duality. His website describes Advaita, a Sanskrit word meaning "not two," as the teaching that there is only one reality. It is not a philosophy or a religion, but the experience of our true nature, revealed as absolute happiness, love and beauty.
He presents this teaching as the direct path, passed from generation to generation by a line of sages. The site names Ramana Maharshi, Krishna Menon and Jean Klein as sages who taught it in the 20th century. It describes non-duality as the common ground of Advaita Vedanta, Ch'an Buddhism, Zen, Taoism and Sufism, and as the core of the message left by the founders of the great religions. In the talks gathered as "Eternity Now," he is described as speaking about awareness, our true nature, the Absolute, leading listeners in a loving, open and peaceful manner toward the understanding that what we are is love, the pure awareness behind and between the activities of the mind.
His teaching rests on the recognition that non-duality is, and has always been, the reality of our experience. After that recognition comes the stabilization of peace, happiness and freedom in our natural state. The site describes a relationship of love, freedom and friendship with a living teacher as the way to that stability.
Francis Lucille shares his work through video dialogues, lectures, books and retreats held in person and online in several languages. Among his writings is "The Perfume of Silence." He has also made direct translations of Shankara's Atma Bodha, Parmenides' On Reality and Meister Eckhart's The Poor Man.
On his YouTube channel he is quoted: "You are the love in everything you love. You are the beauty in everything you behold. You are the intelligence in everything you understand. You are the sweetness in all things."
