Exploring the Enneagram – Luz Tamarit – Krotona Institute

Exploring the Enneagram is an evening workshop on the Enneagram of Personality Types, led by Luz Tamarit at the Krotona Institute of Theosophy in Ojai, California. It is part of Krotona's Second Tuesday series and suits anyone curious about self-observation and personality as part of a spiritual path. People can attend in person or join by Zoom.

What to Expect

The evening runs from 7 to 8:30 pm. Luz Tamarit introduces the Enneagram as a modern synthesis of several ancient wisdom traditions. The system was originally put together by Oscar Ichazo, who created the Arica School to transmit the knowledge he had received. He taught in Chile in the late 1960s and early 1970s, then moved to the United States, where he lived until his passing in 2020. The Traditional Enneagram dates to the early 1960s, when Ichazo first began teaching it, while the philosophy behind it reaches back into antiquity.

The talk looks at how the personality types describe the chief features of our inner landscape. Once we have observed ourselves, and are willing to look at what lies beyond personality or the false self, the types can point toward a more integrated way of being. The guiding idea is that self-understanding is the prelude to transformation, and that knowledge of the Enneagram types can be a useful addition to a spiritual path.
