Singer
Reya Manna is an author, ceremonialist, healer, life coach, musician, activist and mom, based in Topanga, California. She holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Divinity, and she studied multi-cultural philosophy and music at Binghamton University, then indigenous culture, music and esoteric spirituality in West Africa, Ireland and across North America. She is also a Certified Professional Life Coach, Naam Yoga teacher, Harmonyum practitioner and Reiki Master.
By her own account, Reya began singing before she could speak and was drawn to devotional practice and a love of the Divine from a young age. That path led her through meditation, psychology, mantra, shamanism, yoga, energy healing, sound healing and ancient wisdom practices, with a deep love of the Earth and the Divine Mother. She has woven these into an approach for individuals, families and groups, helping people find their voice, reach their highest potential and do good in the world.
Reya is the founder of the SongKeeper School of sacred singing, Earth honoring and ritual, which treats the voice as a tool for healing and transformation. She also founded the music project Sing the World Awake!, which brings music, yoga, mindfulness and environmental education to children. She has conducted children's concerts for the Dalai Lama, the Agape Children's Choir and native elders and spiritual leaders. In 2017 she began Children Sing for the Future, an annual event on International Children's Day that unites children around the world singing for peace.
She teaches workshops and performs at festivals, events and schools across the country and in Mexico, including BhaktiFest, ShaktiFest, Singing Alive, Beloved, One Love, Lucidity, ImagineFest, Festival of Colors and DisclosureFest. She has developed music and coping-skills programs with churches, schools and early childhood intervention programs, and has worked with children in South Central Los Angeles and homeless youth on Skid Row and in Compton. Her book, The Awakening World: The Return of the Divine Feminine, a collection of messages for honoring the Earth, was released in January 2017.
In 2020, when the world could not gather, she created the Illuminate online channel, which brought together wisdom teachers, song leaders and musicians, and she organized two online yoga and music festivals. She was also on the organizing team of the 2015 and 2017 Naam Yoga Superclasses, which united more than 400,000 people practicing Yoga for World Peace.
