Bader Soma

Bader Soma is a musician, happiness coach, event organizer and chef who describes himself as a lifelong explorer of both the outer and inner worlds. The roles differ, but he says they share one thread: sharing joy and connection.

Bader has played piano since 2012. His relationship with the instrument began at a school in Brazil, and he is self-taught, having never taken a piano course. He has composed his own music from the start. It is often contemplative, nostalgic and whimsical, with sensitive coloring and expressive phrasing. He also loves to play the music of Ludovico Einaudi and Yann Tiersen. Alongside piano, he plays guitar and harmonium.

His first studio album, EntheoGenesis, came out on 30 October 2016, the same day as his first concert in Montreal. A North America tour followed, with stops in Toronto, New York and Ottawa. As Above, So Below was released on 26 October 2018, and he later performed in Beirut and Sydney. Madhuram Medley, a single released on 10 March 2020, gathers some of his favourite compositions and kirtan melodies, recorded live at home. Govinda's Grace followed on 16 April 2022, with another North American tour, and From Here to Eternity on 23 November 2024, with performances in New York and Toronto. He also offers private music lessons.

Bader has guided individuals one-on-one toward greater happiness, health and well-being since 2015. Since 2020 he has also run Soma Rasa, a vegetarian and vegan delivery and catering service built on sattvic, Ayurvedic cooking. He teaches cooking classes as well.

Community is central to his work. He helps organize gatherings that bring people together through music, devotion, yoga and joy, including monthly Kirtan Marathons, a bi-annual Kirtan Yoga Retreat, an annual Kirtan Festival Celebration and Festival of Colours.
