Reya Manna is a best-selling author, ceremonialist, healer, life coach, musician, activist and mom, based in Topanga, California. She holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Divinity, and studied multi-cultural philosophy and music at Binghamton University. She later studied indigenous culture, music and esoteric spirituality in West Africa, Ireland and across North America.
By her own account, Reya began singing before she could speak. A devotional bent and a love of the Divine from a young age led her to meditation, psychology, mantra, shamanism, yoga, energy healing, sound healing and ancient wisdom practices, and to a deep love of the earth and the Divine Mother. She has spent more than 20 years in the spiritual and psychological fields. She is also a Certified Professional Life Coach, Naam Yoga teacher, Harmonyum practitioner and Reiki Master. She brings these disciplines together in work with individuals, families and groups, helping people find their voice and do the greatest good for the world.
Reya founded the SongKeeper School of sacred singing, Earth honoring and ritual, which treats the voice as a tool for healing and transformation. She also founded Sing the World Awake, a music project that brings together music, yoga, mindfulness and environmental education for children. She has conducted children's concerts for the Dalai Lama, the Agape Spiritual Center and the Kogi and other native elders. In 2017 she began the annual Children Sing for the Future, held on International Children's Day, which unites children around the world singing for peace.
She teaches workshops and performs at festivals, events and schools across the country and in Mexico, including BhaktiFest, ShaktiFest, Festival of Colors and ImagineFest. She was part of the organizing team for the 2015 and 2017 Naam Yoga Superclasses, which united more than 400,000 people practicing yoga for world peace. In 2020, when people could not gather, she created the Illuminate online channel of teachers, song leaders and musicians. Her book, The Awakening World: The Return of the Divine Feminine, a collection of messages for the honoring of the Earth, was released in January 2017.
