Healing Retreat
Description
Rediscover the first and most intricate instrument known to humankind: your own self. Roots of Resonance is a Music Is Medicine intensive led by Poranguí in the red-rock landscape of Sedona, Arizona, a healing retreat gathered around circlesong, embodied voice work, and the shared practice of listening.
Held at Sedonya Conscious Living Center in West Sedona, this is the first three-day experience of its kind, bringing together the core elements of Poranguí's renowned retreats: immersive song circles, embodied teachings, and authentic connection. If you have been wanting to release self-judgment, open your voice, and sing alongside others in a safe, celebratory container, this intensive is built for you. No musical experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome.
What to Expect
Over three days, you join a circle of fellow participants for a curriculum-rich experience centered on circlesong. Through voice, body percussion, and spontaneous creation, the group moves into flow states that nourish both body and spirit. Together you cultivate presence, play, and the art of meeting life's uncertainty through music and community.
- If you are new to making music: discover ways to connect with your innate rhythm, open your voice and sing with the collective, feel safe trying new things in a playful and supportive space, and learn personal practices for expression.
- If you are an experienced musician: be offered opportunities to lead circlesongs, develop techniques for spontaneity and improvisation, build leadership skills in collective music making, and practice listening deeply and getting out of the way so music can flow through you.
You can expect to emerge with renewed confidence, deeper connection, and a liberated sense of joy in your expression. Sedona has been a place of healing, ceremony, and ritual since the time of the First Peoples, and its mineral-rich red rocks offer a potent mirror for learning and growth. The gathering is intentionally intimate, with limited space.
