説明
This online Yoga Nidra script writing workshop is for yoga teachers who already hold a Yoga Nidra training and want help creating scripts of their own. Taught in English on Zoom by Jennie Wadsten Sharma and Melanie Cooper, it combines pre-recorded theory with a live session of brainstorming and writing, and is a good fit if your creativity has gone quiet or you want more confidence in your own words.
What to Expect
The workshop begins before the live meeting. You watch the pre-recorded theory sessions in your own time and read through the course workbook, which arrives as a PDF. Then the group meets live on Zoom to brainstorm and write.
The theory and the live session cover how to find your authentic expression, how to identify your target group and what they need, and themes for different seasons. In breakout rooms you brainstorm ideas with your peers. You are guided through two Yoga Nidra practices for creativity, and there is time to return to your own practice.
Much of the live session is given to writing, with the teachers supporting you as you work. If you would like it, you can receive feedback on your script. You also learn how to reuse and tweak scripts, which saves time and energy and gives your students a sense of familiarity.
To keep the space safe for expressing yourself freely, the interactive Zoom workshop is not recorded.
About Jennie Wadsten Sharma
Jennie Wadsten Sharma is a yoga teacher, trainer and founder of YogaLeela, born in Sweden in 1977. She fell in love with yoga in 1997 and has taught since 2005. For many years she worked full time as an accountant in the IT and media sector, until her passion for yoga took over. She founded YogaLeela in 2005 and has worked full time as a yoga teacher and business consultant since then.
Her teaching is about cultivating awareness, self-compassion and strength, and carrying those qualities into everyday life. Her style is warm, enthusiastic and encouraging, and draws on extensive knowledge of anatomy and psychology. She is particularly interested in how yoga can balance the nervous system and help us feel centred under stress.
Before You Go
A Yoga Nidra training, from any style or school, is required. The workshop assumes you are familiar with Yoga Nidra principles and terminology and have a regular practice.
Included are the pre-recorded theory sessions, the live Zoom workshop, the two guided Yoga Nidra practices, the PDF workbook, and optional feedback on your script. On completion you receive a Yoga Alliance certificate for 7 hours, either Level 2 (RYS 300) or YACEP continuing education hours. The course stands on its own and also counts toward the Level 2 course (RYS 300) with Yoga Treat & The Shala in London.
One-on-one coaching outside the group sessions is not part of the workshop, and the live session is not available as a recording.
One past participant described leaving with "the confidence to create my own yoga nidra scripts" and a renewed connection to her creativity.
