Autechre @ Depot, Cardiff

Step into a realm where sound becomes architecture, and rhythm dissolves into pure algorithmic beauty. Autechre, the visionary electronic duo from Greater Manchester, brings their intricate, boundary-pushing soundscapes to Depot in Cardiff for an unforgettable late-night experience. Since 1987, Rob Brown and Sean Booth have crafted music that transcends genre—complex, meditative, and utterly transformative. This is not background music; this is an immersive sonic journey that invites you to surrender to the present moment and explore consciousness through sound.

Whether you're a longtime devotee of electronic experimentation or a curious seeker drawn to music as a gateway to deeper states of awareness, Autechre's live performance offers a rare opportunity to witness two decades of sonic innovation unfold in real time. At Depot, Cardiff, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, expect to be held in a web of intricate frequencies, layered textures, and hypnotic grooves that blur the line between rhythm and meditation. This is sound healing for the modern era—precise, cerebral, and deeply moving.

What to Expect

Autechre's live sets are exercises in controlled complexity: evolving patterns that seem almost organic despite their algorithmic origins. The duo crafts immersive soundscapes built from layers of synthesis, glitchy textures, and unexpected rhythmic turns. You'll experience a gradual unfolding of sonic territory, where each moment feels both meticulously composed and spontaneously alive. The atmosphere is one of focused presence—an invitation to drop into deep listening and let the intricate architecture of sound reshape your perception. Leave with a renewed sense of wonder at what electronic music can be, and the meditative power of surrender to something wholly unique.
