About Autechre

Autechre are an English electronic music duo formed in 1987 by Rob Brown and Sean Booth, both from Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Signed to Warp Records—the UK label most associated with intelligent dance music—they released their debut album Incunabula in November 1993, which topped the UK independent album charts despite coming from an unknown act. Their second album Amber followed in 1994 to similar critical and commercial success. Over more than thirty years, Autechre have released eleven full-length albums and fourteen EPs, maintaining a consistent standard of quality while remaining unafraid of their own artistic direction. Their music evolved from influences in 1980s electro and hip-hop into abstract and experimental work characterized by complex composition.
