Healing Retreat

About This Event

Description

This healing retreat for highly sensitive people takes place over a weekend at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It is led by intuitive energy healer Maryam Hasnaa, founder of the New Earth Mystery School, and it is built for people who have been told they are "too sensitive" or "too emotional" and are ready to see that trait differently. The aim is not to become less sensitive. It is to build the inner resources, awareness and discernment that let you live inside your sensitivity more fully and skillfully.

What to Expect

The weekend is an experiential workshop. Maryam Hasnaa helps participants understand their own nervous systems, natural capacities and ways of perceiving the world. Highly sensitive people often notice more: subtle shifts in a room, the emotional states of others, beauty, sensory detail, nuances that others overlook. That depth can feed empathy, intuition, creativity, discernment and pattern recognition. Without good tools, it can also bring overwhelm, overstimulation, emotional exhaustion and trouble with boundaries.

Together you will explore:

- Your individual sensitivities, strengths, vulnerabilities and natural capacities
- Tools for navigating overwhelm, overstimulation and the need for restoration
- How to tell sensitivity apart from taking responsibility for everything you perceive or feel
- Ways to build stronger boundaries without shutting down your empathy
- Practices for self-trust and discernment
- How supportive relationships and environments can change your experience of sensitivity
- How sensitivity may connect with your purpose, calling and unique contribution

The rhythm is steady and unhurried. Opening day begins with check-in at 2:00 pm, a Kripalu Yoga class from 4:45 to 6:00, dinner, and a first program session from 7:30 to 9:00 in the evening. Full days start with Kripalu Yoga from 6:30 to 7:45 am, followed by a silent breakfast. Program sessions run from 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning and 1:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon, with lunch between them, then another yoga class before dinner. On the closing day, after morning yoga and silent breakfast, a final session runs from 9:00 to 11:00, and the retreat ends with lunch and departure. Actual times may vary, and a schedule is provided at check-in.

About Maryam Hasnaa

Maryam Hasnaa is an intuitive energy healer and the founder of the New Earth Mystery School. At Kripalu she leads this program for highly sensitive people, drawing on her work with energy and perception to help participants understand and support their own sensitivity.

The Setting

Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health sits in Stockbridge, in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. Accommodations are intentionally simple, meant to help you unplug and feel grounded. You can choose a private room, with an individual bedroom and either an ensuite or shared bathroom, or a community dorm, where shared sleeping quarters are designed for connection. Rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, and a luggage room is available if you arrive earlier. Check-out on the last day is at 10:00 am, though you may stay on campus and take part in workshops until 2:00 pm.

Three nutritious meals are served each day, and breakfasts are held in silence. Guests also have access to the Kripalu grounds and facilities.

Before You Go

No experience is required. The retreat is open to all highly sensitive people, whatever their background with yoga, meditation or energy work. It is taught in English.

Your stay includes the program sessions with Maryam Hasnaa, more than ten daily yoga classes to choose from, three meals a day, campus accommodation and use of the grounds. Healing Arts sessions and purchases from the Kripalu Shop and Cafe cost extra, and transportation to and from Stockbridge is not included.

No. The stated goal is not to become less sensitive, but to build the inner resources, awareness, and discernment to inhabit your sensitivity more fully and skillfully. It is framed as understanding and supporting sensitivity rather than changing, hiding, or overcoming it.
You'll explore your individual sensitivities, strengths, and vulnerabilities, along with tools for overwhelm, overstimulation, and restoration. Sessions also address telling sensitivity apart from taking responsibility for everything you feel, building boundaries without shutting down empathy, and developing self-trust and discernment. The program also looks at how supportive relationships and environments affect your experience, and how sensitivity may connect to your purpose and calling.
It is aimed at highly sensitive people who have been told they are "too sensitive" or "too emotional" and want a healthier relationship with that trait. It may suit you less if you are looking for a lecture-style course or a method to eliminate sensitivity, since the format is experiential and focused on developing it.
