About This Event

Description

È stata ordinata monaca a Dharamsala.

Ven. Robina speaks English in the hall. Italian translation is simultaneous, so if you attend in person and want it, bring a tablet or phone with a Zoom connection and earphones. Online participants select "Italiano" from the globe-icon interpretation menu on Zoom.
The teachings draw on Lama Tsongkhapa's writings on the graded path, where dependent origination is called the "king of reasonings" for proving emptiness, as Lama Yeshe put it. The aim is to uproot self-grasping, the assumption of a separate, fearful, lacking self that does not actually exist. The teachings also address nihilism, one of the most common misunderstandings of emptiness.
It begins with the law of karma, the first level of dependent origination (cause and effect), which helps counter despair and self-pity by showing we are the source of our own happiness and suffering. Next you become your own therapist, examining mental afflictions such as attachment, aversion and jealousy and seeing them as rooted in self-grasping. Finally, combining practice with bodhicitta, the course approaches the subtler levels of dependent origination.
There is no fixed fee. A donation is recommended, with a suggested amount of 120 euro for both in-person and online participation. You can change the amount in the "conferma e paga" tab during registration.
