Spiritual Workshop

Description
The Heart of Who We Are is a free online spiritual workshop led by Caverly Morgan, a spiritual teacher and author who blends the original spirit of Zen with a modern nondual and relational approach. It is offered through Drala Mountain and held entirely online, so you can take part from wherever you are. The program takes its title from Morgan's book, The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together, and speaks to anyone who wants to feel resourced in uncertain times and to explore freedom as something realized in community, not alone.
What to Expect
The program is a live online teaching session in the contemplative tradition Morgan draws on. Her approach does not offer more techniques or self-improvement strategies. It rests on presence, inquiry and togetherness, and on remembering your true nature. Expect an emphasis on being with others in the practice, which is the "together" in the title.
It is part of Drala Mountain's series of free online programs, which sit alongside its longer retreats in meditation, mindfulness, yoga and contemplative practice.
About Caverly Morgan
Caverly Morgan is a spiritual teacher, nonprofit founder, speaker and author. Her practice began in 1995 and included eight years of training in a silent Zen monastery. She has taught contemplative practice since 2001, and she was named one of 2025's powerful women of the mindfulness movement.
She wrote The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together and A Kids Book About Mindfulness. She also founded two nonprofits: Peace in Schools, which created the first for-credit mindfulness class in U.S. public high schools, and Realizing Freedom Together. Her work centers on making the teachings that lead to liberation accessible to all.
Before You Go
The program is free and online, so no travel is needed. All you need is a device with an internet connection and a quiet place to sit. Nothing in the program calls for prior meditation experience, and the emphasis on presence and inquiry makes it open to newcomers as well as people with an established practice. If you know Morgan's book, you will recognize its themes, though reading it first is not a requirement.
