Guided Sleep for Children: Animal Stories as Meditation

Happy Mind Meditation
Happy Mind Meditation

Picture this—it's nearly 9 PM on a school night. A parent nestles next to their child, pulling up a meditation video on their phone. A warm, patient voice begins to speak, inviting them both into an enchanted forest. "Close your eyes now as you snuggle in for your loveliest, dreamiest bedtime rest," the voice says. By the time Freddie the Fox bounds into the narrative, the child's breathing has already begun to slow. This is the Happy Minds sleep meditation collection, a 2+ hour YouTube compilation that has been viewed over 5.4 million times since its 2021 release. It is not a children's story read aloud, nor a simple white-noise app. It is a deliberately designed meditation experience—one that treats children's nervous systems with the same seriousness a yoga studio would bring to an adult practice.

The collection contains four narratives, each featuring an animal guide: Freddie the Fox leads an adventure through a hidden burrow and magical valley; Ollie and Olivia, a pair of owls, take listeners on a nocturnal flight; Luna the Last Dragon offers enchantment and wonder; and Freddie returns in "Dreamland," another journey through the fox's world. The voice is female, steady, and never patronizing. The background music—gentle, layered, composed specifically for sleep—shifts to match each story's emotional landscape. Published in 2021, the collection appeared at a moment when parents were searching for accessible tools to help their children regulate nervous systems strained by pandemic-era uncertainty. What makes this effective is not sentimentality. It is craft.

How does sensory detail create a safe space for sleep?

The architecture of the narrative works on multiple levels simultaneously. First, it establishes safety through vivid sensory detail. The child is invited to imagine themselves within a world that activates all available senses: soft green grass that "almost tickles your toes," a silvery moonlight that bathes everything in "a brilliant glow," a warm burrow that "smells earthy and fresh like the roots of scented trees." This is not abstraction; the listener is given a body in this imagined world. They can feel the ground beneath their feet, the temperature of the air, the texture of an animal's fur. This grounds the imagination in sensation rather than pure thought, which is crucial because sensory awareness activates the parasympathetic nervous system—the body's rest-and-digest mode. When a child is experiencing the weight of their body on the grass, the tickle on their toes, the smell of earth, they are out of fight-or-flight mode and into safety.

Why do animal guides matter in children's meditation?

Second, the meditation uses animal companionship as a psychological anchor. Freddie, Ollie, and Luna are not passive characters; they actively guide the listener, modeling healthy relaxation and demonstrating how to let go. This is particularly powerful for children who may not yet have developed strong internal resources for self-soothing. The animals show the way. When Freddie becomes tired and heads back to the burrow, the listener follows his lead—returning to rest is not something imposed but something the trusted guide naturally does. When the owls welcome the child into their nest, the listener experiences belonging and acceptance without having to ask for it. When Luna "gives you a little wink," there is warmth and connection. The implicit messages—you are safe, you are welcome, you belong here—are conveyed through relationship and gentle authority rather than through direct instruction.

How are breathing techniques woven into the story?

Third, the meditation embeds specific psychological and physiological techniques within the narrative fabric rather than announcing them as technique. Early in the first story, the voice invites the listener to "take deeper breaths to really relax." The instruction arrives at a moment of natural transition, as if the breathing naturally belongs to the adventure rather than interrupting it. It continues: "take in your first big slower breath... breathe it all the way in and now breathe it all the way out and the air moving out lets go of all worries." The listener is learning deliberate breath control and vagal stimulation without any sense that they are "doing" meditation or learning a skill. This is especially important for children, who may intellectually resist anything that feels clinical, mandatory, or like homework. By embedding the breath work in invitation and story, the voice bypasses resistance entirely.

How does the narrative journey mirror the journey to sleep?

Fourth, the structure honors and choreographs the natural journey from wakefulness to sleep. The first half of each story involves exploration and mild excitement—the child is still somewhat alert, but curious and engaged, actively imagining themselves moving through the landscape. By the middle, fatigue naturally enters the narrative itself. The Fox grows tired and decides it's time to return home. The Owls, after their flight, settle into their nests. Luna, after the adventure, grows content and still. Crucially, the listener's own drowsiness is not portrayed as failure or distraction but as a natural and welcome part of the story. "Very soon you and freddie are getting so tired and becoming so sleepy... and so it is time now to rest." The meditation is not fighting against the child's natural drift toward sleep; it is choreographing and welcoming it. Sleep is not the failure state; it is the destination, and the narrative honors that progression.

What role do voice and pacing play in the relaxation response?

Finally, the voice and pacing work directly with the listener's nervous system. The narration is unhurried, with generous pauses that allow the listener to imagine and dream. Words are enunciated with clarity but without dramatic inflection. There is never urgency, never tension, never that quality of excitement that might activate alert states. The music doesn't jolt or surprise. According to the collection's description, the "meditation messages are always positive," which means there is no sudden conflict, no threat, no jarring resolution that would spike adrenaline. The entire 2+ hour experience is calibrated toward one thing: lowering cortisol and increasing melatonin production, helping the body understand that it is safe to rest.

What does the collection of four different animal guides offer?

The selection of animal guides reveals careful pedagogical thinking. Foxes are traditionally clever but gentle, inviting children to imagine intelligence and playfulness together—you can be smart and still rest. Owls embody wisdom and night-time mastery, which is psychologically powerful: the child learns that the dark, which might otherwise feel scary, is a place where wise creatures thrive and feel comfortable. Dragons, traditionally symbols of power and sometimes danger, are here rendered as entirely kind and welcoming, allowing children to integrate power and gentleness. Each animal carries archetypal weight—deep cultural associations—while also being concrete and visually endearing. A child can more easily visualize and identify with a specific, characterful fox or dragon than with abstract concepts like "relaxation" or "peace."

Why does this collection resonate with so many listeners?

The collection addresses a genuine contemporary need. Post-2020, childhood anxiety and sleep disruption have been documented across education and pediatric literature. Teachers and parents consistently report that many children struggle to transition from the stimulation of screens, social interaction, or ambient stress to genuine rest. While sleep hygiene—consistent bedtimes, dark rooms, no screens—provides necessary structure, children also need practices that actively teach their nervous systems how to downregulate. This collection offers that teaching in a form that meets children where they are: through story, imagination, and gentle companionship rather than clinical instruction.

Importantly, the creators explicitly frame this collection as inclusive of adults. The YouTube description states: "We think it's so relaxing, even parents and grown ups can join along for blissful night time dreams!" This is not an afterthought or tokenism. Adults experiencing their own sleep challenges, chronic stress, or anxiety often find guided meditation marketed for children more accessible than meditation targeted to adults. There is less pressure to achieve a particular "spiritual state" or to perform insight. The permission to simply rest and imagine—to let your mind wander through a forest, to follow a friendly animal, to drift without purpose—is sometimes more profound than high-concept teaching.

The collection has found an enormous audience: 5.4 million views on YouTube, with users reporting in comments that they use these stories nightly for months or even years. Parents describe their children asking for the same story night after night, and the child falling asleep reliably within the runtime. This repetition is not a drawback; it's actually how the nervous system learns to recognize the signal. Like Pavlov's bell, the voice and the music begin to mean "sleep is coming," and the body responds accordingly.

Where to go from here

What's most remarkable is that the Happy Minds collection demonstrates that meditation for children need not be simplified, watered down, or lacking in artistic sophistication. The sensory detail rivals professional audiobook production. The music is composed specifically for sleep, not generic ambience. The voice is performed with real attention to rhythm, pacing, and intention. It is treated, in other words, as seriously as any piece of audio craft designed for adults—because childhood is serious, sleep matters, and a child's need to learn self-regulation is as legitimate as an adult's. For parents seeking tools that actually work, and for children discovering that their bodies and minds can calm themselves, this collection offers a template: stories that heal, characters that guide without imposing, and a gentle, consistent insistence that rest is not a luxury or weakness but a birthright. In a world that rarely makes space for slowness, the Happy Minds collection carves out sanctuary—and then invites you to dream within it.

[5:32] the fluffy green grass

[5:37] of the forest floor

[5:43] [Music]

[5:45] so soft

[5:48] it is almost tickling your toes

[5:52] [Music]

[6:01] and you see

[6:03] it's a silvery full moon tonight

[6:10] [Music]

[6:11] and everything is lit up

[6:15] in a brilliant glow

[6:23] and it's beginning to seem as though

[6:26] this is all an incredible

[6:29] enchanted dream

[6:32] [Music]

[6:39] and with everything bathed in this

[6:42] magical moonlight

[6:46] you realize you were standing

[6:51] next to the tallest oak tree

[6:54] in the whole forest

[6:56] [Music]

[7:05] and all of a sudden

[7:08] a little fox

[7:10] darts out

[7:12] from behind this oak tree

[7:21] and you see

[7:24] this is the slinkiest

[7:28] softest

[7:31] smileiest fox

[7:34] you have ever met

[7:42] you admire the fox's silky coat

[7:48] a reddish chestnut brown

[7:53] and you see his white tail is so fluffy

[8:01] and he waves it about

[8:05] so proudly

[8:07] in the air

[8:15] his friendly eyes are so shiny and happy

[8:21] to greet you

[8:27] as he shakes his puffy tail in the

[8:30] moonlight

[8:34] he tells you his name

[8:36] is freddy the fox

[8:45] and so you wave back to freddy

[8:49] and tell him your name too

[8:56] [Music]

[9:01] now freddy grins a cheeky grin

[9:06] and suddenly he vanishes

[9:12] and instantly disappears

[9:19] where did he go

[9:20] you ask

[9:22] [Music]

[9:24] he's nowhere to be seen

[9:29] [Music]

[9:33] so you walk closer and closer

[9:38] to where freddie was last

[9:46] and now you see

[9:48] there is a hole at the base of this tree

[9:52] [Music]

[9:57] because you found there is a sleepy

[10:01] burrow

[10:03] under the tallest oak tree

[10:09] and the entrance to this burrow is

[10:13] hidden

[10:14] by a fluffy tuft of grass

[10:20] hiding it away from the whole world

[10:31] cheeky freddy the fox

[10:34] must be hiding from you

[10:39] obviously playing some sort of trixie

[10:44] foxy game

[10:51] so you climb down inside the entrance

[10:57] to go after freddy

[10:59] [Music]

[11:01] and you go deeper

[11:04] and deeper

[11:07] [Music]

[11:09] down into this foxhole

[11:16] all the time following where freddie

[11:19] must have gone

[11:20] [Music]

[11:25] and it's surprisingly warm and cozy here

[11:31] in the burrow

[11:34] [Music]

[11:38] and it smells earthy

[11:41] and fresh

[11:44] like the roots of scented trees

[11:47] [Music]

[11:53] and you feel the walls of the burrow

[11:57] are very smooth

[11:59] [Music]

[12:01] obviously they've been made really well

[12:09] so safe and sturdy

[12:19] and you feel

[12:21] so protected

[12:23] [Music]

[12:24] [Laughter]

[12:32] and you quite enjoy being underground

[12:37] as you explore

[12:40] [Music]

[12:47] it's very quiet

[12:51] and peaceful here

[12:56] [Music]

[12:58] and so easy to fall asleep

[13:09] but as you climb further

[13:13] and further through the tunnel

[13:18] you begin to hear a little pitter patter

[13:22] of foxy footsteps

[13:31] and little scratches

[13:34] [Music]

[13:38] and sniffs

[13:42] [Music]

[13:43] coming from somewhere in front of you

[13:48] [Music]

[13:54] and now you hear foxy giggles

[13:59] [Music]

[14:02] like a happy laughter

[14:04] [Music]

[14:08] as you round a gentle bend

[14:10] [Music]

[14:14] you see they are coming from freddy

[14:17] himself

[14:19] [Music]

[14:23] he really is a prankster you think

[14:30] what a clever

[14:32] sly

[14:35] mischievous

[14:37] friendly fox

[14:39] [Music]

[14:42] and you can't help but laugh too

[14:49] [Music]

[14:50] as you and freddie together now

[14:53] keep climbing and exploring

[14:57] through the long foxhole tunnel

[15:07] freddy shows you how to slink through so

[15:11] easily

[15:15] just like a sly fox

[15:18] [Music]

[15:24] he tells you this is a secret burrow

[15:29] he dug all by himself

[15:33] [Music]

[15:37] which leads all the way to a very fun

[15:41] place

[15:47] [Music]

[15:49] freddy must be the cheekiest fox in the

[15:52] forest

[15:55] since he loves to go out on secret

[15:58] nighttime adventures

[16:00] [Music]

[16:06] just when his brothers and sisters are

[16:08] fast asleep

[16:12] snuggling down with mama fox

[16:15] [Music]

[16:18] freddy slinks out of the den

[16:22] and goes exploring

[16:25] through the lovely woodlands

[16:35] and now the tunnel here you're exploring

[16:40] suddenly opens out

[16:44] to a large field of soft fluffy grass

[16:50] and beautiful daisies

[16:58] freddy tells you this is the happy

[17:02] valley

[17:07] a secret valley

[17:11] that only foxes know

[17:15] [Music]

[17:21] so together

[17:23] you and freddie go tumbling down

[17:28] the gentle slopes

[17:30] [Music]

[17:41] [Music]

[17:54] and go racing

[18:10] [Music]

[18:15] rolling about

[18:19] and doing all sorts of foxy

[18:23] trixie slinking

[18:31] in this wide open happy valley

[18:39] which shines brilliantly

[18:43] in the silvery moonlight

[18:48] [Music]

[18:57] [Music]

[19:11] you see

[19:12] and hear

[19:15] there is a sparkling stream of fresh

[19:19] water nearby

[19:21] [Music]

[19:25] flowing along here through the happy

[19:29] valley

[19:31] [Music]

[19:39] [Music]

[19:46] and you even reach down

[19:50] to feel the gentle currents of the

[19:53] ripples

[20:04] feeling the water to be so pure

[20:08] and healthy

[20:22] and maybe

[20:24] you even spot some small green frogs

[20:37] [Music]

[20:39] or some colorful little fish

[20:44] [Music]

[20:49] as they all swim happily along

[20:54] in gorgeous patterns

[20:57] [Music]

[21:12] and now you and freddie

[21:15] hop across the rocks of the stream

[21:28] [Music]

[21:30] and try to catch

[21:32] some electric blue dragonflies

[21:45] but their wings are too fast for you

[21:53] but wow

[21:55] this is such fun

[22:09] [Music]

[22:16] now very soon

[22:18] you and freddie

[22:21] are getting so tired

[22:26] and becoming so sleepy

[22:29] [Music]

[22:33] to be having such an adventure

[22:36] [Music]

[22:44] and so

[22:45] it is time now

[22:49] to rest

[22:56] and freddy shows you the way

[23:02] back through the happy valley

[23:11] into the woodland

[23:15] [Music]

[23:19] and all the way back down

[23:24] into the sleepy burrow

[23:30] [Music]

[23:34] through the long

[23:37] long tunnel

[23:39] [Music]

[23:45] where mama fox

[23:49] papa fox

[23:52] and all of freddy's happy brothers and

[23:55] sisters

[23:56] [Music]

[23:58] are nestling in

[24:00] [Music]

[24:02] for a sound night's wonderful

[24:07] deep sleep

[24:09] [Music]

[24:17] because the sleepy burrow is so soft

[24:22] [Music]

[24:23] so warm

[24:24] [Music]

[24:26] and cozy

[24:28] [Music]

[24:30] and dim

[24:32] [Music]

[24:40] as soon as you slink inside here

[24:48] you feel so very

[24:53] very tired

[24:58] and so ready

[25:02] to drift off

[25:07] right

[25:08] into sleep

[25:10] [Music]

[25:18] it is so dreamy

[25:50] safest

[25:54] sleepiest burrow

[26:02] as fluffy

[26:04] and soft fox hair

[26:08] and puffy fox tails

[26:14] comfort you

[26:22] everywhere the warmth of nestling foxes

[26:29] and the gentle sounds

[26:31] [Music]

[26:33] of foxy breathing

[26:38] helps you to relax

[26:41] [Music]

[26:43] and to sleep

[26:46] so

[26:47] well

[26:48] [Music]

[26:51] because there's a perfect

[26:56] comfy space

[27:00] here for you too

[27:04] right next to mama fox

[27:11] and falling asleep

[27:15] beside freddy fox

[27:18] [Music]

[27:24] so you crawl inside

[27:31] and join the happy fox family

[27:36] [Music]

[27:41] as you instantly

[27:44] fall fast

[27:47] asleep

[27:48] [Music]

[27:57] and you dream

[28:00] [Music]

[28:03] and dream

[28:08] so very deeply

[28:12] [Music]

[28:18] and you sleep

[28:25] and sleep

[28:32] so

[28:33] soundly now

[28:42] your entire body

[28:44] is relaxed

[28:49] and you feel

[28:51] so

[28:52] happy

[28:57] and so

[28:58] very

[29:34] [Music]

[29:51] now as you're listening in very closely

[29:57] eyes

[29:59] and you'll really want to focus in here

[30:01] so well

[30:03] because that's the best way to join in

[30:05] and imagine

[30:07] with this very special bedtime adventure

[30:11] which takes place entirely in the

[30:36] back and stretch out

[30:39] as you snuggle into your bed

[30:42] [Music]

[30:46] that's fantastic

[30:48] you're doing this perfectly

[30:53] and let yourself take deeper breaths to

[30:56] really relax

[30:58] as you take in your first big slower

[31:02] breath

[31:03] breathe it all the way in

[31:06] and now breathe it all the way out

[31:10] and the air moving out let's go of all

[31:14] worries

[31:18] now take in a bigger slower breath

[31:22] even deeper into your chest

[31:25] all the way down into your belly

[31:30] and now let that breath out a little

[31:33] slower

[31:34] until it flows out like a calm wave

[31:41] and notice how much easier it's becoming

[31:44] to really feel you can relax

[31:47] and you can really let go

[31:52] feeling yourself settle and get extra

[31:55] cozy

[31:58] just feeling yourself relaxing a little

[32:00] more

[32:03] well done that's great

[32:08] and now just breathe in one more big

[32:12] breath

[32:13] with your eyes still softly closed

[32:17] inhaling your very best healthiest

[32:20] breath all the way down to your belly

[32:23] button

[32:25] and now let it go

[32:28] all the way out like a peaceful wave

[32:36] and if you like you can imagine every

[32:39] breath out now

[32:41] flowing out like a colorful cloud

[32:47] and this colorful cloud is releasing all

[32:50] worries

[32:52] and it really helps you to feel so good

[32:59] and now just let your breathing return

[33:02] again to normal because it's something

[33:04] you no longer have to think about for

[33:07] this next little while

[33:10] since you'll continue to be feeling

[33:12] better and better

[33:14] with every breath you take

[33:20] and to notice how great it feels to let

[33:23] yourself sink a little deeper down into

[33:27] your bed

[33:29] really enjoying the soft support of

[33:32] those comfy surfaces beneath you

[33:37] because now is where our special dream

[33:40] adventures

[33:41] can truly begin

[33:44] [Music]

[33:47] so just imagine

[33:50] somewhere in your mind's eye

[33:53] imagine in picture you were standing

[33:56] right now

[33:57] in a friendly happy and safe forest

[34:01] [Music]

[34:09] and there is so many tall and beautiful

[34:12] trees growing all around

[34:20] and there are some fallen branches about

[34:24] and some colorful patches of autumn

[34:26] leaves on the ground

[34:30] [Music]

[34:31] and there are even some unusual purple

[34:34] flowers springing up

[34:39] and some curious blue mushrooms looking

[34:42] really spongy

[34:47] and some very soft lovely green clovers

[34:52] strewing around

[34:56] [Music]

[34:58] and it's night time here in this quiet

[35:01] forest

[35:03] because there's a giant silver moon

[35:06] shining out so high from above

[35:10] [Music]

[35:16] and you see lots of gorgeous twinkling

[35:19] stars floating through the nighttime

[35:28] [Music]

[35:29] sky and all around you see the silver

[35:32] glow

[35:34] of the giant shining moon

[35:37] lighting up the forest

[35:39] with a loving and soft glow

[35:47] and you feel really loved here

[35:51] just so safe and special

[35:56] because you can see under the moonlight

[35:59] pretty well

[36:01] and it is so easy for you to explore

[36:04] anywhere you want to go

[36:11] as you watch the silver moon beams

[36:13] sparkling down through the air

[36:16] they leave a magical kind of twinkling

[36:19] trail

[36:24] and you see the sparkling beams seem to

[36:26] illuminate

[36:28] and point to a long and welcoming

[36:32] pathway

[36:34] that seems made just for you

[36:43] so you decide to follow this new and

[36:46] inviting trail

[36:48] as it leads you through this friendly

[36:52] lovely night forest

[36:55] as you begin exploring down the moonlit

[36:59] path

[37:01] [Music]

[37:03] really feeling so warm and cozy here

[37:08] because you feel so protected by the

[37:11] moon beams

[37:13] as you feel so free to wonder

[37:16] and explore about

[37:21] [Music]

[37:24] and soon enough

[37:26] you notice you were the only person here

[37:29] in this whole relaxing forest

[37:35] because there's not another human around

[37:38] as far as you can see

[37:40] you have this whole forest all to

[37:43] yourself

[37:49] and you can hear the soft chirps of some

[37:52] nighttime crickets nearby

[37:58] and you can also hear some pleasant

[38:01] funny chattering of some hidden

[38:03] squirrels

[38:04] who you sometimes see disappearing

[38:07] quickly as they scurry up into their

[38:10] tall trees

[38:16] and you're just exploring along and

[38:19] feeling so good

[38:22] so relaxed to be walking with your bare

[38:25] feet

[38:27] since you can feel the crisp crackles of

[38:30] the fallen leaves crunching with a

[38:33] satisfying crunch under your toes

[38:40] and it feels all crinkly and tickly

[38:43] like the crunching leaves and massaging

[38:46] your feet so well

[38:49] [Music]

[38:52] and there's a fresh calming smell of oak

[38:56] woods

[38:58] and the scents of pine and maple trees

[39:02] as you breathe in through your nose

[39:06] and it just relaxes you even more

[39:12] [Music]

[39:16] as a slight breeze picks up through the

[39:19] forest

[39:21] you see the breeze rustle some of the

[39:24] fallen piles of brown and yellow crunchy

[39:28] leaves

[39:29] sending them into a little whirl

[39:32] [Music]

[39:37] but you can't help but see

[39:39] there's a curious

[39:41] new little swirl of a different kind of

[39:44] breeze

[39:46] now appearing there

[39:48] closer by

[39:53] something that looks just like a tiny

[39:56] tornado is growing and building and

[40:00] spinning at the foot of a very tall and

[40:03] very old oak tree

[40:10] so you look over to this curious little

[40:14] whirlwind

[40:15] and you watch and hear the swirling wind

[40:19] spiraling and spinning about with a

[40:22] buzzing were

[40:28] as more and more of the crunchy leaves

[40:31] get thrown this way and that

[40:35] some of the floating leaves even fly

[40:37] into your hair

[40:39] as the whirlwind gusts

[40:46] until suddenly

[40:48] the little tornado and whirlwind of

[40:51] circling air

[40:53] quickly winds down to a standstill

[40:59] and all of a sudden

[41:01] you see standing right there on the

[41:04] ground

[41:05] where the whirlwind just was

[41:08] there is now a small

[41:11] cute and fluffy

[41:13] brown and gray feathered owl

[41:17] with the widest eyes you've ever seen

[41:21] and he's looking back at you in surprise

[41:27] who who

[41:29] who

[41:30] are you

[41:32] asks the little gray and brown owl

[41:35] well

[41:36] you say a little surprise too

[41:40] i'm just me

[41:41] i'm just visiting this lovely forest

[41:45] who are you

[41:48] who am i

[41:50] asks the funny little owl

[41:53] my name is oliver

[41:55] but you can call me ollie

[41:58] and really i can't talk to you right now

[42:01] i have something very important to do

[42:04] and i'm sorry but i'm just too busy at

[42:06] this moment to show you around

[42:11] that's curious you think

[42:14] what could have such an interesting and

[42:16] funny little owl

[42:18] so very busy in this whole relaxing

[42:21] forest

[42:25] can i help you with something you ask

[42:29] since you know it always pays to be kind

[42:32] to others in need

[42:36] well

[42:37] chirps the owl i'm looking for something

[42:39] super important

[42:41] something i have to find before bedtime

[42:45] something my momma asked me to find

[42:47] urgently

[42:48] so it will calm her down

[42:51] she's really in a bit of a frantic mood

[42:53] about it

[42:55] i told her just to be calm

[42:57] because i know i'll find it

[42:59] but then again i've been flying around

[43:02] like a hurricane

[43:04] flapping here and there for a while

[43:08] okay

[43:09] you say well then let's look together

[43:13] and you give a big smile as you let

[43:15] ollie the owl know you'll help him

[43:18] however you can

[43:22] now you see all these large allies light

[43:25] up and shine even more

[43:27] when he hears you tell him this

[43:30] and he really does seem to relax some

[43:33] more

[43:34] in fact he seems quite relieved

[43:40] really

[43:41] that's so nice of you

[43:43] he says

[43:45] well maybe tonight

[43:47] you can be an honorary al too

[43:50] but you'll need to have some owl eyes

[43:53] just like mine

[43:55] to really help if we're going to

[43:57] properly explore

[44:01] and suddenly as if by a little magic

[44:05] you see ollie jumps up

[44:07] and she flaps his wings up

[44:09] into one of the brightest shining beams

[44:12] of twinkling moonlight

[44:14] falling between the nearby tree branches

[44:22] and then he seems to swoop a wing

[44:25] swiftly at one of those moon beams

[44:29] until the moonlight itself bends and

[44:32] bounces with a gust of wind

[44:38] and suddenly the moon beam shimmers and

[44:40] twinkles

[44:42] just for a small moment

[44:45] right before your eyes

[44:51] now as you look about the forest

[44:54] you can see very differently

[44:58] because your eyes are seeing just like

[45:01] an owl

[45:07] suddenly everything here in the lovely

[45:10] night forest

[45:12] seems so much brighter

[45:15] and so much clearer and even more lovely

[45:23] because you see all of the beautiful

[45:25] trees

[45:27] and all of the lush green plants

[45:30] and all of the bright green clovers

[45:35] and all of the blue spotted mushrooms

[45:39] and all of the piles of fallen autumn

[45:42] leaves in all of their different shapes

[45:48] everything looks so much better

[45:53] it's just like seeing the whole world in

[45:57] super high definition

[46:01] [Music]

[46:04] and you can even spot the tiny crickets

[46:08] and the little grasshoppers bouncing

[46:11] about

[46:12] as they frolic and play

[46:15] [Music]

[46:20] and you're even able to catch sight of

[46:23] the cute hidden squirrels

[46:26] before they dart away to hide again in

[46:28] their trees

[46:32] [Music]

[46:34] it really is so magical to look out at

[46:38] the forest just like an

[46:41] owl and you see ollie looks at you

[46:45] clearly very satisfied with his work

[46:51] now says olly

[46:53] we're looking for something quite small

[46:57] it's also round and it's very pale

[47:00] probably white and snowy in color

[47:04] it would probably fit into the palm of

[47:06] your human hand

[47:09] and there might be some blue or yellow

[47:11] spots on it

[47:13] i can't quite remember

[47:15] whatever you do though

[47:17] just don't step on it

[47:22] oh you say

[47:24] after a few moments of thinking about it

[47:28] oh

[47:29] you mean something like an egg

[47:33] yes

[47:34] says olly

[47:36] an egg

[47:37] it's my sister owl she's still in her

[47:40] egg

[47:42] but mama says she's about to hatch very

[47:45] soon

[47:46] she fell out of our tree nest

[47:49] mama al is really worried my sister will

[47:52] hatch without us

[47:54] i do have another brother and sister

[47:57] just so you know

[47:58] their names are olga

[48:00] and oddie

[48:02] and they're back in our tree

[48:04] keeping watch

[48:08] wow

[48:09] an owl egg you think

[48:12] well this is important

[48:15] so quickly you and ollie make a plan

[48:18] and you both set off together slowly

[48:22] exploring and searching through the

[48:24] nearby forest

[48:31] making sure to look under every branch

[48:36] and to search behind every rock

[48:39] and peer behind every stone around the

[48:43] base of each tree

[48:54] as you go

[48:55] you see ollie hops about and flaps his

[48:58] wings a little here and there

[49:01] but you can hear him muttering and

[49:04] chirping to himself

[49:06] as he says

[49:08] okay olly it's best just to relax and

[49:11] keep calm

[49:12] even under pressure

[49:15] [Music]

[49:16] and even though you're feeling a little

[49:18] bit of pressure

[49:20] and feeling the importance of why you're

[49:23] here

[49:24] you're reminded too

[49:27] that it's always best to keep your calm

[49:31] because relaxing helps you to focus your

[49:34] mind

[49:36] and check off the possibility of every

[49:39] new spot

[49:42] and then all of a sudden

[49:46] behind the very next rock you see

[49:49] you spot something

[49:52] down there in a patch of the softest

[49:55] looking green clovers you've ever

[49:58] imagined

[50:00] you see something with the powers of

[50:03] your new owl eyesight

[50:08] something that looks very smooth and

[50:11] very white

[50:12] and very round

[50:16] and yes

[50:18] it's an egg

[50:21] an egg just lying here safely on this

[50:25] soft bed of clovers

[50:30] this must be ollie's new sister fallen

[50:33] from her nest

[50:36] very hastily you reach down

[50:40] and gently pick up the little egg

[50:45] feeling it so smooth

[50:48] and very warm in your open hand

[50:53] [Music]

[50:55] but very suddenly

[50:57] the egg begins to wobble about

[51:00] and right in your hand

[51:03] you feel and see the egg starts to move

[51:07] and roll a little side to side

[51:13] until you see a tiny crack appears

[51:20] and now a tiny little albique is trying

[51:23] to poke out through a tiny tiny hole

[51:30] quick

[51:31] you call over to ollie

[51:33] i think i found your little sister

[51:37] and she's about to hatch

[51:41] ollie looks up from his search

[51:44] and suddenly hoots and chirps

[51:47] swiftly he flies over to you in an

[51:51] instant

[51:53] and he peers closely at the egg

[51:57] yes

[51:58] ollie says

[52:00] that's her

[52:01] and she's already pecking through her

[52:03] shell we better get her up to our nest

[52:06] right away

[52:08] so she'll be with my whole family

[52:12] quick

[52:13] hold on to my feet

[52:15] and you'll have to hold on to the egg

[52:17] too

[52:18] please don't let it fall again

[52:21] [Music]

[52:22] and before you can ask what exactly does

[52:25] he mean

[52:27] all he spreads his owl wings and

[52:29] suddenly flaps up a new and powerful

[52:33] whirlwind

[52:34] just like before

[52:39] and suddenly you find your reaching out

[52:42] with one hand to grab a hold of his feet

[52:46] while you cradle and hold on to the

[52:48] precious owl leg with your other hand

[52:54] and now you feel your own feet lifting

[52:57] off from the ground

[53:03] as you clasp onto ollie's little claws

[53:07] you realize although he may be small

[53:11] all his wings are incredibly strong

[53:15] and the little owl easily lifts off

[53:19] and now flies you both up

[53:22] and up

[53:24] into the nighttime air

[53:31] and it feels incredible to be lifted

[53:35] and to be flying through the moon beams

[53:40] [Music]

[53:42] feeling the fresh rush of the forest

[53:45] breezes around you

[53:48] only flies you both swiftly higher up

[53:52] through the air

[53:56] [Music]

[53:59] climbing up

[54:00] and up

[54:03] and you see you're circling around

[54:06] an enormous and beautiful oak tree

[54:13] and you can feel the wind from ollie's

[54:16] wings propelling you even higher

[54:20] as you get nearer and nearer to the very

[54:23] strong branches of this giant tree

[54:29] until you see you're flying above even

[54:33] the very tops of all the other trees in

[54:36] the forest

[54:37] [Music]

[54:41] and now you can look out across all the

[54:45] lands

[54:48] you see so many stunning stars

[54:52] in their full clarity in the sky

[55:00] and you see the shining moon glowing so

[55:04] brightly upon you as you feel the cool

[55:08] currents of the night air

[55:10] gliding you to a gentle and soft landing

[55:15] again

[55:20] and suddenly you're landing

[55:23] touching down on a very sturdy and

[55:26] strong oak branch

[55:28] [Music]

[55:31] and all of a sudden your feet are on a

[55:34] solid surface of this very wide branch

[55:39] and you're standing safely on the mighty

[55:42] tree

[55:43] [Music]

[55:48] now you're face to face with three other

[55:52] brown and gray feathered owls

[55:55] all of whom are clearly very surprised

[55:58] to see you

[55:59] being the human visitor that you are

[56:03] suddenly standing in their very cozy and

[56:06] very warm al nest

[56:10] clearly olly has brought both of you

[56:12] back to his owl home

[56:15] perched safely here in this magnificent

[56:19] tree

[56:20] [Music]

[56:21] hoot hoot this is my new human friend

[56:25] ollie says to the other owls

[56:28] as their wide owl eyes look on in pure

[56:32] amazement

[56:35] my friend is the one who found our

[56:37] sister

[56:38] mama we found her and she's just about

[56:41] to hatch

[56:43] [Music]

[56:44] and upon hearing this news

[56:47] the larger of the three owls who is very

[56:50] obviously ollie's kind faced mother owl

[56:55] hops on over to you as she positively

[56:58] beams with a huge owl smile

[57:04] oh thank you so much

[57:07] mama al says to you

[57:10] you'll have to hold the egg still though

[57:13] so that little olivia can peck her way

[57:16] out

[57:20] and just as mama al tells you this

[57:23] you look down to find that indeed

[57:27] little olivia

[57:28] the newly hatching owl is right now

[57:32] pecking at her shell

[57:34] and she pecks

[57:36] and pecks

[57:38] until her cute fluffy little face

[57:41] suddenly appears

[57:45] hoot

[57:46] says little olivia when she finally

[57:49] pokes her beak and head all the way out

[57:54] she says to

[57:57] who and who

[57:59] who and who

[58:01] greet olivia's family

[58:03] as they all huddle around happily

[58:08] and they all smile and laugh and cheer

[58:13] all in their special owl language of

[58:16] course

[58:17] but you certainly get the gist

[58:23] and you feel so happy and so special

[58:27] here too

[58:29] so warm inside

[58:31] to be holding out your hand as newly

[58:34] hatched olivia springs all the way out

[58:37] of her shell

[58:39] and she's quickly up and flapping about

[58:44] confidently circling and flying right

[58:47] around your head

[58:51] wow she's fast

[58:54] says olly

[58:55] she's just like me

[58:59] and she playfully starts pegging a

[59:02] little at your hair which feels just

[59:05] like a relaxing funny tickle

[59:08] [Music]

[59:11] and after a few minutes of her flying

[59:14] lands gently on your shoulder

[59:18] [Music]

[59:20] oh she really loves you

[59:23] says mama al

[59:25] she already knows you're an owl friend

[59:29] won't you stay and join us

[59:33] it's been a long day

[59:35] and we're just about to go to sleep

[59:39] we have a special and extra cozy bed on

[59:42] our branch here

[59:44] just for you

[59:48] and with that olly the owl hops on over

[59:51] to you and he claps a soft feathered

[59:54] wing against your shoulder

[59:58] and that makes you feel extra welcome

[1:00:01] and really extra special

[1:00:05] well that was a hoot

[1:00:07] olly says

[1:00:08] and you all laugh

[1:00:12] next time i might even teach you how to

[1:00:15] fly

[1:00:17] and that would be something really

[1:00:20] really special you think to yourself

[1:00:24] as you're all beginning to yawn

[1:00:27] and everyone is starting to look and

[1:00:30] feel extra sleepy

[1:00:35] even little olivia is in need of her

[1:00:37] sleep and rest

[1:00:40] having expended so much energy just to

[1:00:43] hatch her way out of her shell

[1:00:46] which was quite a lot of effort

[1:00:52] you can tell all of ollie's confidence

[1:00:55] is going to live on in her as well

[1:00:59] yet for now

[1:01:01] you feel it is time for you to rest back

[1:01:04] again

[1:01:09] as ollie shows you your extra comfy

[1:01:12] extra soft fluffy owl bed

[1:01:16] you see it's made of the softest green

[1:01:19] clover grass from the forest

[1:01:22] and also owl feathers that are so

[1:01:25] snuggly to touch

[1:01:30] and so you just sit down

[1:01:33] and then lie back completely

[1:01:37] into this softest clover and featherbed

[1:01:46] feeling so incredibly safe and protected

[1:01:53] so secure on this mighty wise tree

[1:01:57] branch

[1:02:02] because you know that owls only make

[1:02:05] their best nests

[1:02:07] in the sturdiest and safest of all

[1:02:10] supporting trees

[1:02:16] and you're really feeling so ready to

[1:02:19] just drift

[1:02:21] and dream away fully

[1:02:24] [Music]

[1:02:27] as the shining twinkling moonbeams

[1:02:30] continue to glow

[1:02:32] and sparkle all around you

[1:02:40] you know that tomorrow

[1:02:42] or when you wake again

[1:02:45] you'll wake up feeling so good

[1:02:49] [Music]

[1:02:50] having returned to your own comfortable

[1:02:53] bed

[1:02:55] in your very own home

[1:03:01] yet you'll be taking with you all of

[1:03:04] these happy

[1:03:05] loving dreams

[1:03:10] all of these happy memories of your fun

[1:03:13] and free

[1:03:15] times exploring with your new al friends

[1:03:20] helping them out

[1:03:22] and having so much fun

[1:03:27] and you know you're always so welcome to

[1:03:31] return back here again

[1:03:35] welcome to have even more our adventures

[1:03:38] with ollie and olivia

[1:03:41] and all of the other owls of this

[1:03:44] soothing forest

[1:03:47] [Music]

[1:03:51] but right now

[1:03:53] you're just tucking yourself in

[1:03:56] and nestling in

[1:03:59] beside your soft feathered friends

[1:04:04] in their warm

[1:04:06] cozy nest

[1:04:12] and so very soon

[1:04:16] you're falling fast

[1:04:18] asleep

[1:04:23] just dreaming

[1:04:25] and drifting

[1:04:26] [Music]

[1:04:30] and floating through your happy dreams

[1:04:38] so deeply asleep now

[1:04:42] [Music]

[1:04:45] as you sleep

[1:04:47] so well

[1:04:52] may you enjoy your sweetest

[1:04:57] most relaxing

[1:05:00] happiest

[1:05:02] of all dreams

[1:05:08] [Music]

[1:05:17] [Music]

[1:05:39] have you ever wondered if there are any

[1:05:41] last dragons

[1:05:43] still left in the world

[1:05:48] and have you ever thought you may have

[1:05:50] seen a dragon flying far away in the

[1:05:54] night sky

[1:05:56] soaring against the silvery light of the

[1:05:59] moon

[1:05:59] [Music]

[1:06:03] well

[1:06:04] these most important of questions will

[1:06:06] be answered

[1:06:08] along this very enchanting journey

[1:06:11] where you may even get to see the

[1:06:14] peaceful power of dragon magic with your

[1:06:18] very own eyes

[1:06:22] your very own eyes which are now gently

[1:06:25] closed

[1:06:26] as you settle into the realm of dreams

[1:06:30] for this magical tale of brilliant

[1:06:34] adventure

[1:06:35] [Music]

[1:06:39] now did you know that dragons if they

[1:06:42] still exist

[1:06:44] breathe very deeply through their big

[1:06:47] nostrils

[1:06:48] even when they're not breathing fire

[1:06:52] this is because dragons are incredibly

[1:06:55] wise creatures

[1:06:57] and they know that slow breathing is

[1:07:01] great for their health

[1:07:04] how else do you think they live for over

[1:07:06] a thousand years

[1:07:09] so how about you try breathing deeply

[1:07:12] too

[1:07:13] just like a dragon

[1:07:16] breathing slowly in through your nose

[1:07:20] all the way down to your belly

[1:07:22] [Music]

[1:07:25] and now letting this air flow out

[1:07:28] naturally

[1:07:32] that's wonderful

[1:07:34] you're doing this meditation perfectly

[1:07:37] [Music]

[1:07:39] now take three more deep dragon breaths

[1:07:43] in this way

[1:07:45] as you just rest back and listen along

[1:07:49] because with every inhalation

[1:07:52] you are relaxing deeper

[1:07:55] into this dreamiest feeling of

[1:07:58] wonderment

[1:07:59] where anything becomes possible

[1:08:07] because high up in the astral mountains

[1:08:11] of a very special part of the earth

[1:08:15] lives a certain type of mythical

[1:08:17] creature

[1:08:19] which has remained hidden for hundreds

[1:08:22] of years

[1:08:26] hidden from humans that is

[1:08:30] and only hidden until now that is

[1:08:35] and perhaps this creature is not merely

[1:08:38] mythical at all

[1:08:43] because right at this moment

[1:08:45] an amazing dragon

[1:08:48] one of the last in a long line of these

[1:08:51] most courageous of creatures

[1:08:54] is inviting you to join it in its hidden

[1:08:57] lair

[1:08:59] inside the most remote cave of the

[1:09:03] astral mountains

[1:09:07] [Music]

[1:09:08] now where exactly is this mystical

[1:09:11] mountain lair

[1:09:13] well never you mind

[1:09:16] because with a dazzle of dragon

[1:09:18] enchantment

[1:09:20] this creature is bringing its cave to

[1:09:23] you

[1:09:25] truly

[1:09:27] [Music]

[1:09:29] because all of a sudden

[1:09:31] you now sense magic mist drifting

[1:09:34] through the air

[1:09:36] [Music]

[1:09:38] sparkling and shining around you

[1:09:43] a safe and warming energy

[1:09:46] of pure peace and love

[1:09:50] [Music]

[1:09:56] and suddenly

[1:09:58] your room grows bigger and bigger

[1:10:03] pushing outwards and upwards

[1:10:06] to become an immensely big cavern of

[1:10:09] space

[1:10:14] gradually the walls are becoming rock

[1:10:18] [Music]

[1:10:20] and surprisingly your furniture turns to

[1:10:23] stone

[1:10:26] morphing into strange shapes now

[1:10:29] blending in with the rocky walls

[1:10:33] [Music]

[1:10:36] and now you realize

[1:10:38] your bedroom is magically transforming

[1:10:42] into a cave

[1:10:47] and this mystical cave is really quite

[1:10:50] beautiful

[1:10:52] and mysterious

[1:10:56] as you now notice the pictures on your

[1:10:59] walls have turned into colorful crystals

[1:11:04] embedded into the stone

[1:11:10] so you step down onto this smooth stone

[1:11:14] floor

[1:11:15] and reach out and feel the rocky cave

[1:11:19] walls

[1:11:22] marveling at how quickly everything has

[1:11:25] transformed

[1:11:27] [Music]

[1:11:31] and as you continue to breathe deeply

[1:11:36] you hear the sound of even louder

[1:11:39] breaths

[1:11:40] in the same rhythm as your breathing

[1:11:43] [Music]

[1:11:45] like a drowsy snoozing sound of someone

[1:11:49] or something

[1:11:51] sleeping very deeply nearby

[1:11:57] so you look around and up

[1:12:01] and you see that your light has become

[1:12:03] an open shaft of moonlight

[1:12:07] shining down through a hole in the roof

[1:12:12] a glittering stream of moonshine making

[1:12:16] this cave glow

[1:12:18] in the most enchanting way

[1:12:22] [Music]

[1:12:25] and in this natural light of the

[1:12:27] universe

[1:12:29] you now make out a huge and magnificent

[1:12:33] creature lying here

[1:12:37] [Music]

[1:12:38] and you can't quite believe your eyes

[1:12:42] as you see it has wings

[1:12:46] and claws

[1:12:48] and a huge head with big snoozing

[1:12:51] nostrils

[1:12:55] and you realize that right before your

[1:12:58] very eyes

[1:13:00] is a sleeping dragon

[1:13:03] glittering with every color of the

[1:13:06] rainbow

[1:13:08] wow

[1:13:14] as you peer closer in pure or

[1:13:19] suddenly one of its eyes flashes open

[1:13:24] glowing like a beautiful fiery gemstone

[1:13:30] and now it startles you as it speaks

[1:13:35] oh

[1:13:36] what are you doing here

[1:13:39] you immediately realize it's a girl

[1:13:42] dragon with a surprisingly sweet and

[1:13:46] goofy voice

[1:13:48] and she appears to just be waking up

[1:13:51] from her slumber

[1:13:56] well you invited me here into your cave

[1:14:00] you say

[1:14:01] suddenly unsure if you have imagined

[1:14:04] yourself into a very awkward situation

[1:14:08] [Music]

[1:14:12] oh yes

[1:14:14] yes i did

[1:14:17] i was dreaming of a chosen one to help

[1:14:20] me

[1:14:21] and i well i just forget how powerful my

[1:14:25] dreams can be

[1:14:29] and she studies you curiously with her

[1:14:32] long lashed eyes

[1:14:35] [Music]

[1:14:37] you're the first human

[1:14:39] i've seen for hundreds of years

[1:14:44] um well

[1:14:46] thank you

[1:14:47] you say

[1:14:50] hmm

[1:14:51] she nods

[1:14:52] dragon magic never happens by accident

[1:14:57] you must be the chosen one

[1:15:00] the one to help me rejoin my dragon folk

[1:15:05] i've been in the deepest slumber for so

[1:15:08] long

[1:15:09] i've forgotten where they are

[1:15:12] so in the dream realm

[1:15:14] i asked for a human to help me

[1:15:20] you feel very special to realize that

[1:15:23] that human

[1:15:24] is you

[1:15:27] it feels great to be the chosen one

[1:15:30] whatever that means

[1:15:33] you just hope you can prove yourself

[1:15:35] worthy of this task

[1:15:37] and you wonder how you can help such an

[1:15:40] incredible creature rejoin her dragon

[1:15:44] folk

[1:15:46] if only there was a clue to be found

[1:15:52] but firstly this kind-hearted girl

[1:15:56] dragon invites you to go flying

[1:15:59] because she really needs to stretch her

[1:16:01] claws and spread her wings

[1:16:05] after all these years

[1:16:09] and you can think of nothing better

[1:16:12] as you excitedly climb up her shimmering

[1:16:16] scales

[1:16:17] and onto her proud strong back

[1:16:21] which feels all warm and comforting

[1:16:25] [Music]

[1:16:27] she has a fluffy dragon mane which feels

[1:16:30] silky soft under your

[1:16:33] fingers making her a surprisingly cuddly

[1:16:37] creature as you hold on tight

[1:16:44] and your dragon friend stands up

[1:16:47] and you hear lots of cricks and cracks

[1:16:51] as her dragon bones stretch out happily

[1:17:00] and she begins to amble out of the cave

[1:17:04] her big body towering to the roof

[1:17:08] and moving heavily from one side

[1:17:12] to the other

[1:17:14] as she walks towards the entrance

[1:17:19] [Music]

[1:17:22] and to your amazement

[1:17:24] this hollow cave now opens out

[1:17:28] into a sheer cliff

[1:17:30] so extremely high up

[1:17:33] in the snow-capped astral mountains

[1:17:39] and now all of a sudden

[1:17:41] your dragon friend takes off

[1:17:45] soaring out into the open night sky

[1:17:48] [Music]

[1:17:51] flapping her beautiful shining strong

[1:17:55] wings

[1:17:59] and the world is bathed in a moonlit

[1:18:02] glow

[1:18:04] enabling you to see quite clearly down

[1:18:07] below

[1:18:09] [Music]

[1:18:13] and you feel so alive

[1:18:17] so powerful

[1:18:19] and so free

[1:18:21] [Music]

[1:18:32] and you fly about together

[1:18:35] as she moves her mighty wings through

[1:18:38] the cool breeze

[1:18:42] and there's something you've been

[1:18:44] wondering

[1:18:45] and so you ask

[1:18:48] do you think that you might be the last

[1:18:51] dragon

[1:18:52] [Music]

[1:18:54] well yes

[1:18:55] yes i am

[1:18:59] and much to your surprise she doesn't

[1:19:02] seem too sad about this

[1:19:07] i'm the last dragon

[1:19:09] on earth

[1:19:12] but there are so many more of us all

[1:19:14] throughout the universe

[1:19:20] wow now that is amazing

[1:19:23] you think to yourself

[1:19:26] as your mind opens up

[1:19:28] wondering about all the stars and

[1:19:31] planets

[1:19:32] which may have dragon friends of their

[1:19:34] own

[1:19:35] living there too

[1:19:40] [Music]

[1:19:46] and you stroke your dragon friends silky

[1:19:49] mane as together you fly over a

[1:19:53] sparkling blue lake

[1:19:59] [Music]

[1:20:03] do you have a name

[1:20:05] you ask

[1:20:09] yes

[1:20:10] luna

[1:20:11] my name's luna

[1:20:14] what's yours

[1:20:16] and you tell luna your name too

[1:20:21] and you ask her what her lovely name

[1:20:24] means in ancient dragon tongue

[1:20:28] the language of the dragons

[1:20:33] moon luna means moon

[1:20:39] suddenly you have an idea

[1:20:43] even though it seems fanciful and

[1:20:46] far-fetched

[1:20:47] you feel the words coming out of your

[1:20:50] mouth as quickly as you think them

[1:20:54] could that be where your dragon folk

[1:20:56] live

[1:20:57] on the

[1:20:59] moon and a huge and happy toothiest of

[1:21:03] grins spreads across her massive face

[1:21:07] which would be quite fearsome if you

[1:21:10] didn't already know just how sweet luna

[1:21:13] is

[1:21:15] thank you

[1:21:17] wise human

[1:21:19] thank you so much

[1:21:23] yes

[1:21:24] the moon of course

[1:21:27] i knew you were the chosen one

[1:21:30] [Music]

[1:21:32] and you can tell luna now feels pure joy

[1:21:35] in her heart

[1:21:37] to remember where she comes from

[1:21:41] because she flies even faster and higher

[1:21:45] spinning and dipping and soaring about

[1:21:49] with happiness

[1:21:56] and she tells you of the changes of the

[1:22:00] ages

[1:22:02] and she was sent down to bring peace and

[1:22:05] harmony to earth

[1:22:08] to use her dragon magic and wisdom

[1:22:11] as a force for good

[1:22:16] but despite her good intentions

[1:22:20] some people grew suspicious of her

[1:22:23] and feared her powers

[1:22:25] [Music]

[1:22:27] shunning her away

[1:22:30] and so she remained hidden

[1:22:33] hibernating in the mountain cave

[1:22:36] for hundreds of years

[1:22:42] until you awoke her from her deepest

[1:22:45] slumber just this very night

[1:22:48] [Music]

[1:22:52] and now luna asks you a most marvelous

[1:22:56] question

[1:22:58] would you like to travel to the moon

[1:23:00] with me

[1:23:02] i can wish you back home to earth

[1:23:05] whenever you like

[1:23:08] and you can't say yes fast enough

[1:23:11] as you hug luna tightly with pure

[1:23:14] excitement

[1:23:18] so luna now wishes a final goodbye to

[1:23:22] planet earth

[1:23:24] blowing out a shining sparkle of dragon

[1:23:27] dust

[1:23:29] which glitters in the air like little

[1:23:32] fireworks

[1:23:33] and drifts down to the land below

[1:23:37] [Music]

[1:23:41] because this dragon magic spreads peace

[1:23:45] and love

[1:23:47] and joy to the sleeping people

[1:23:50] everywhere

[1:23:51] [Music]

[1:23:52] sharing with them feelings of kindness

[1:23:56] compassion

[1:23:58] freedom

[1:23:59] and harmony

[1:24:03] [Music]

[1:24:05] this is the humble way of the moon

[1:24:08] dragons

[1:24:10] doing their good work quietly in the

[1:24:13] night and without any fuss

[1:24:17] [Music]

[1:24:23] as you look up at the full moon

[1:24:27] it seems very far away

[1:24:32] glowing there in a beautiful ball in the

[1:24:35] sky

[1:24:41] and luna twists her long neck to look

[1:24:44] back at you

[1:24:46] and gives you a little wink

[1:24:48] her eyes twinkling with mischief

[1:24:51] [Music]

[1:24:54] and you soon understand why

[1:24:57] because all of a sudden she takes off

[1:25:01] flying faster than you ever thought

[1:25:03] possible

[1:25:06] bolting through the air

[1:25:10] soaring like lightning

[1:25:12] [Music]

[1:25:15] and now you are gliding through a light

[1:25:18] tunnel

[1:25:20] with glorious silvery shining sparkles

[1:25:24] all around you

[1:25:27] [Music]

[1:25:32] and the moon is getting closer

[1:25:35] and closer

[1:25:38] very quickly

[1:25:41] [Music]

[1:25:43] and you realize you are right now

[1:25:46] traveling at light speed

[1:25:49] all the way to the moon

[1:26:00] [Music]

[1:26:04] and as you reach the moon's atmosphere

[1:26:08] luna slows down

[1:26:10] and everything becomes very floaty

[1:26:14] and dreamy

[1:26:16] [Music]

[1:26:21] and you feel light as a feather

[1:26:25] and so free

[1:26:27] in this new space frontier

[1:26:30] of the moon

[1:26:32] [Music]

[1:26:37] because luna flies with ease over the

[1:26:41] moon

[1:26:42] dipping and spinning around

[1:26:46] delighted to be home

[1:26:52] as you see all the different craters

[1:26:55] below

[1:26:57] like big speckled circles

[1:27:01] dotting the moon's surface in the most

[1:27:04] interesting designs

[1:27:15] and now you arrive at one particularly

[1:27:18] perfect looking crater

[1:27:21] absolutely huge with lots of big moon

[1:27:26] rocks inside it

[1:27:28] [Music]

[1:27:33] and as luna glides down closer

[1:27:37] and closer

[1:27:39] into this massive crater

[1:27:44] you now see the entrance to a moon cave

[1:27:48] [Music]

[1:27:52] and you wonder to yourself

[1:27:56] could this be luna's dragon home

[1:28:02] and suddenly in a swirl of moon dust

[1:28:06] dragon creatures start to emerge from

[1:28:09] this crater cave

[1:28:13] one by one

[1:28:15] flying up to greet you

[1:28:17] so happily with joy

[1:28:20] [Music]

[1:28:25] there are dragons of all ages and stages

[1:28:30] from baby dragons right through to great

[1:28:34] great great grand dragons

[1:28:44] and you admire this wonderful extended

[1:28:47] family of dragons

[1:28:50] because you can see how they all look

[1:28:52] just like luna

[1:28:58] these magnificent creatures are in

[1:29:01] different colored shades but they all

[1:29:04] shine in the same vibrant hues on their

[1:29:08] smooth scales

[1:29:10] glittering with every color of the

[1:29:13] rainbow

[1:29:15] [Music]

[1:29:21] but most

[1:29:23] importantly they are absolutely

[1:29:26] overjoyed to see you both

[1:29:30] welcoming you to their home by flying

[1:29:33] around you and breathing shimmering

[1:29:35] dragon dust into the air

[1:29:40] which dazzles and crackles about

[1:29:43] like magnificent moon fireworks

[1:29:48] [Music]

[1:29:52] and luna turns to you with a giddy grin

[1:29:56] and says thank you for helping her to

[1:29:59] remember her home

[1:30:03] and you are now a very special friend

[1:30:07] of the moon dragons

[1:30:14] so you decide to stay for a little while

[1:30:18] and go bouncing about

[1:30:20] exploring the moon

[1:30:23] [Music]

[1:30:26] and you also wish to ask these amazing

[1:30:29] creatures

[1:30:31] about their adventures on other planets

[1:30:38] because you know

[1:30:40] that with a dash of dragon enchantment

[1:30:44] you will be back in your own bed

[1:30:46] tomorrow

[1:30:48] ready to start the day

[1:30:50] as the powerful kind and courageous

[1:30:54] person

[1:30:56] the chosen one that you are

[1:31:02] [Music]

[1:31:05] but for now

[1:31:07] you will continue to dream and sleep

[1:31:10] deeply

[1:31:11] [Music]

[1:31:15] loving being a child of the universe

[1:31:20] with your kind-hearted new friends

[1:31:25] the wonderful

[1:31:27] mystical

[1:31:28] moon dragons

[1:31:30] [Music]

[1:31:34] sweet

[1:31:36] dragon

[1:31:37] dreams

[1:31:41] [Music]

[1:31:53] [Music]

[1:32:17] have you ever seen a shining moon so

[1:32:20] very bright

[1:32:22] that it's almost as if the moon's

[1:32:24] silvery light could make everything

[1:32:27] around it seem magical

[1:32:30] and almost dreamy

[1:32:33] [Music]

[1:32:35] well it's so easy to imagine a big

[1:32:38] beautiful shining moon

[1:32:41] just like that

[1:32:43] right now

[1:32:44] if you really allow yourself to rest and

[1:32:48] relax here

[1:32:52] just by gently closing your eyes

[1:32:57] and listening along to this sleepy

[1:33:00] bedtime's tale full of foxy fun

[1:33:09] because you know

[1:33:11] and i know

[1:33:13] that the most magical

[1:33:15] extra-enchanted

[1:33:17] and sometimes hidden lands of your very

[1:33:20] best dreams really do exist

[1:33:26] those special places where you can do

[1:33:29] anything

[1:33:30] and you can be anything

[1:33:34] they all live inside you right now

[1:33:39] shining in the most exciting parts of

[1:33:43] your bedtime's imaginations

[1:33:47] and i can also tell you that tonight

[1:33:51] as you keep listening

[1:33:53] you'll be receiving a very special visit

[1:33:57] from that cheekiest sneakiest

[1:34:01] and funniest forest friend of yours

[1:34:04] freddy the fox

[1:34:08] [Music]

[1:34:10] because freddy the fox wants to share

[1:34:13] with you his incredible adventures

[1:34:17] as you and freddie together

[1:34:20] might just explore that marvellous

[1:34:23] secret moonlit place of your pure

[1:34:27] most fun dreams

[1:34:35] now somewhere out there

[1:34:38] freddy is already waiting for you

[1:34:41] and he's waiting to show you how to get

[1:34:44] so fast to that beautiful moonlit

[1:34:49] dreamland

[1:34:50] that only the most clever creatures know

[1:34:56] and you may be even a little surprised

[1:35:00] to learn what it is

[1:35:05] so just imagine making your way now

[1:35:08] into that secret hidden forest

[1:35:12] where all foxes love to live

[1:35:17] [Music]

[1:35:20] and you can imagine this forest

[1:35:23] where all of those amazing

[1:35:26] special and wonderful feelings of foxy

[1:35:29] fun

[1:35:31] really can begin to glow

[1:35:33] and grow inside

[1:35:43] and it's so much easier to find clever

[1:35:46] foxes to have fun with

[1:35:49] when you really do relax a little more

[1:35:56] and your soft eyelids really do stay

[1:36:00] down

[1:36:04] can you see and feel yourself standing

[1:36:09] on the fluffiest green grass of a

[1:36:12] comfortable forest floor

[1:36:20] or can you see or smell

[1:36:23] the lovely maple and oak woods

[1:36:27] with all of those green

[1:36:29] green trees shining under the moon

[1:36:39] since everything here does seem to glow

[1:36:43] and shine a little

[1:36:46] everything looks a little different

[1:36:50] and more magical to you

[1:36:56] and it's becoming a little more curious

[1:36:59] to look upon

[1:37:00] [Music]

[1:37:02] because already you're exploring these

[1:37:05] dreamy woods

[1:37:09] and discovering some of its secrets

[1:37:13] just like a clever fox

[1:37:17] [Music]

[1:37:20] running besides the clear flowing

[1:37:23] streams

[1:37:26] and counting the red spotted mushrooms

[1:37:30] as you walk about merrily

[1:37:39] until very soon you look up

[1:37:43] and find your now below a very special

[1:37:48] and very familiar tall tree

[1:37:51] [Music]

[1:37:55] and you realize you've found the tallest

[1:37:59] and most secret oak tree in the whole

[1:38:03] forest

[1:38:04] [Music]

[1:38:08] the oldest and wisest looking tree

[1:38:13] in the whole of this secret glade

[1:38:22] and down beneath this tree

[1:38:25] somewhere there underground

[1:38:28] you can see by its oak roots there is a

[1:38:32] very special kind of entrance

[1:38:36] to a well-hidden sleeping burrow

[1:38:44] far down below

[1:38:47] you can just see there's a hideaway spot

[1:38:53] through cozy tunnels and burrows

[1:38:57] where just maybe

[1:38:59] there's a friendly fox family

[1:39:03] dozing happily right now

[1:39:10] and you can almost hear the foxes

[1:39:13] snoozing blissfully

[1:39:16] as most foxes

[1:39:19] like to sleep

[1:39:22] just sleeping away

[1:39:25] in their very warm and very cosy

[1:39:29] secret foxhole burrows

[1:39:34] [Music]

[1:39:36] so happy with all of their foxy brothers

[1:39:39] and sisters

[1:39:42] resting happily around

[1:39:45] [Music]

[1:39:50] yet even as you're looking and listening

[1:39:53] a little more

[1:39:54] for those foxy sleeping signs

[1:40:00] all of a sudden

[1:40:02] poking out of the burrows entrance

[1:40:05] you see some sneaky

[1:40:08] very foxy ears appear

[1:40:15] and now the ears reveal

[1:40:18] a cheeky foxy face

[1:40:25] and now the rest of the fox appears

[1:40:29] and you're so happy because you see

[1:40:33] it's freddy the fox

[1:40:35] himself he's come out to greet you

[1:40:40] and freddy tries slinking out to

[1:40:43] surprise you

[1:40:45] the sly fox that he is

[1:40:49] [Music]

[1:40:50] but you see he's impressed because you

[1:40:54] were already here

[1:40:58] and you see freddy's chestnut brown coat

[1:41:02] shining

[1:41:03] so silky in the moonlight

[1:41:08] as you watch him shake his puffy tail

[1:41:11] proudly in the air

[1:41:17] and he says he's so glad to see you

[1:41:21] freddie's face beams

[1:41:24] his smiling eyes extra shiny tonight

[1:41:28] as an excited grin spreads across his

[1:41:32] happy foxy face

[1:41:38] he tells you he is so ready to go right

[1:41:42] now

[1:41:43] and show you a new

[1:41:45] and even more fun sleep adventure

[1:41:51] now freddy being your most fun and most

[1:41:55] adventurous animal friend

[1:41:58] and being the super clever and sly fox

[1:42:02] that he is

[1:42:04] he tells you he's already heard about a

[1:42:07] wonderful

[1:42:09] secret place

[1:42:11] to have the best sleep

[1:42:17] a hidden place

[1:42:19] called dream land

[1:42:22] that's only known

[1:42:24] on the whisperings of the wind

[1:42:31] [Music]

[1:42:32] and he asks

[1:42:35] will you join him

[1:42:38] because he is so eager and keen to

[1:42:41] explore dreamland with you

[1:42:45] he wants you to be there too

[1:42:48] right along by his side

[1:42:54] and if you now say yes

[1:42:57] then freddie tells you something else

[1:43:00] you didn't quite expect to hear

[1:43:08] because he tells you that the very

[1:43:11] secret

[1:43:12] and most magical way to actually find

[1:43:16] dreamland

[1:43:18] is at the top of this tree

[1:43:25] because this old and wise tree above you

[1:43:30] right now

[1:43:32] is the hidden path

[1:43:34] to the amazing secret gateway

[1:43:39] into the land of all dreams

[1:43:46] and at the top of this tree

[1:43:49] there is a fantastical cloud portal

[1:43:54] that only foxes like freddy know about

[1:44:01] and these special clouds will take you

[1:44:04] both directly

[1:44:07] to dreamland

[1:44:13] so feeling so very very lucky

[1:44:17] to be hearing about this secret way

[1:44:21] and about these curious clouds

[1:44:25] you know you feel so ready to go

[1:44:28] somewhere

[1:44:30] that sounds so marvelous and fun

[1:44:34] [Music]

[1:44:37] and almost without a second thought

[1:44:41] you nod and smile

[1:44:44] to see freddy darting off

[1:44:47] and you're quick too

[1:44:50] to be following fast behind

[1:44:57] as freddy starts to climb the wise old

[1:45:02] tree

[1:45:03] he quickly teaches you the hidden

[1:45:06] pathways up

[1:45:12] as he climbs so well

[1:45:15] with his foxy socksy nimble pores

[1:45:20] [Music]

[1:45:22] and you see this is the perfect tree for

[1:45:25] your climbing

[1:45:27] [Music]

[1:45:28] because there are lots of strong

[1:45:30] branches and footholds

[1:45:33] all very close together

[1:45:39] as freddy leads on

[1:45:46] and you relax and feel so safe here as

[1:45:50] you climb together

[1:45:54] higher

[1:45:55] and higher

[1:45:58] with freddy as your guide

[1:46:04] higher into the dense leafy folds of the

[1:46:09] ancient sturdy tree

[1:46:17] feeling more and more free

[1:46:20] all the time

[1:46:23] you feel so confident and happy

[1:46:29] feeling like you can do anything at all

[1:46:34] since freddy calls back

[1:46:37] to remind you a lot

[1:46:39] you can be anyone or anything in this

[1:46:44] world

[1:46:47] anything at all

[1:46:49] [Music]

[1:46:51] if you really want to explore your

[1:46:54] amazing dreams

[1:47:00] [Music]

[1:47:03] and following freddy's bushy fluffy foxy

[1:47:07] tale

[1:47:08] and hearing the sounds of his scratching

[1:47:12] furry paws

[1:47:14] as he darts up and up

[1:47:17] [Music]

[1:47:18] together you move up

[1:47:23] feeling more and more like an agile

[1:47:28] happy clever fox as you go

[1:47:34] up through the thick green leaves

[1:47:40] and up through the solid branches

[1:47:44] [Music]

[1:47:48] feeling so nimble and quick

[1:47:51] you soon move past the feathery little

[1:47:55] faces

[1:47:56] of some night owls who appear

[1:48:01] friendly little

[1:48:04] tucked away in a cozy hidden branch

[1:48:08] [Music]

[1:48:10] and they look back at you so curiously

[1:48:16] you see the night i'll stare at you

[1:48:20] with their big round owl eyes

[1:48:26] just maybe wondering and wishing they

[1:48:29] too

[1:48:30] were joining along with your fun

[1:48:37] but you and freddie say farewell

[1:48:40] as you climb on

[1:48:42] higher

[1:48:43] above the perching owls

[1:48:50] [Music]

[1:48:51] until finally

[1:48:53] you climb so high in the tall tree

[1:48:59] you'll suddenly reaching the greenest

[1:49:02] leaves

[1:49:03] you've ever seen

[1:49:08] [Music]

[1:49:09] as the treetop opens out

[1:49:12] it's the very bushy top

[1:49:15] of this old tree

[1:49:23] you're so high up

[1:49:26] you can see all the way down

[1:49:30] over the whole hidden forest

[1:49:33] [Music]

[1:49:37] and all the way out

[1:49:40] across to the misty mountains

[1:49:44] in the distance

[1:49:50] [Music]

[1:49:53] and you look out and soon notice

[1:49:57] so many passing fluffs of cloudy puff

[1:50:03] all drifting along so

[1:50:07] slowly

[1:50:09] through the wide and open

[1:50:12] starry night sky

[1:50:15] ahead

[1:50:21] as mischievous freddy looks back at you

[1:50:25] you see he's smiling even more

[1:50:29] [Music]

[1:50:30] grinning with the happiest twinkle in

[1:50:33] his brown foxy eyes

[1:50:37] [Music]

[1:50:39] because you know he just loves to show

[1:50:43] you these incredible nighttime thrills

[1:50:48] to help you feel so good

[1:50:51] and feel as free as you can be

[1:51:02] and so together

[1:51:04] you both decide you'll soon count to

[1:51:07] three

[1:51:10] one

[1:51:12] two

[1:51:12] [Music]

[1:51:14] three

[1:51:17] and now you both jump out and pounce

[1:51:21] onto the next passing cloud

[1:51:24] of magic mist moving by

[1:51:30] and now you're landing again

[1:51:33] so safely and smoothly

[1:51:36] on the softest cloudy surfaces

[1:51:43] it's just like landing on a little

[1:51:45] flying cloud carpet that completely

[1:51:50] supports you

[1:51:54] you're both landing as foxes and holding

[1:51:58] on

[1:51:59] as this little magic cloud rushes you

[1:52:02] both so smoothly

[1:52:06] through the fresh night air

[1:52:12] [Music]

[1:52:14] now you feel like you're soaring and

[1:52:17] floating all the way up

[1:52:21] up to an even bigger

[1:52:24] more magical cloud

[1:52:27] up there you can see floating even

[1:52:31] higher above you

[1:52:36] [Music]

[1:52:39] and it's such a joy to be flying up and

[1:52:43] up

[1:52:45] on your very own cloudy path of

[1:52:48] enchantment

[1:52:49] [Music]

[1:52:54] enjoying this safest and softest ride

[1:52:59] up towards happy dream land

[1:53:04] the land of your most amazing dreams

[1:53:08] waiting for you

[1:53:10] where all sleep time possibilities

[1:53:14] can really begin

[1:53:17] [Music]

[1:53:23] now finally you're arriving

[1:53:26] to this giant welcoming cloud

[1:53:30] [Music]

[1:53:32] and you feel this is the very place

[1:53:36] where all of your most incredible

[1:53:40] most wonderful nights dreams

[1:53:44] can truly come to life

[1:53:52] because you feel yourself moving into

[1:53:56] and then out from

[1:53:59] so many colorful

[1:54:01] misty

[1:54:03] beautiful cloud banks and shapes

[1:54:08] all

[1:54:08] around you

[1:54:10] [Music]

[1:54:16] [Music]

[1:54:20] you're seeing and noticing happy cloud

[1:54:24] shapes

[1:54:26] like pictures

[1:54:28] just like your most favorite forest

[1:54:31] animals

[1:54:39] and even other mythical magical

[1:54:43] creatures

[1:54:44] from your favorite story tales

[1:54:52] [Music]

[1:54:57] and you're visiting and drifting into

[1:55:00] all sorts

[1:55:02] of your favorite fun

[1:55:05] fantasy lands

[1:55:07] [Music]

[1:55:13] places full of kind-hearted

[1:55:16] characters

[1:55:19] and smiling story friends

[1:55:24] [Music]

[1:55:29] floating and drifting

[1:55:33] into all of those marvelous

[1:55:36] relaxing scenes

[1:55:39] of those favorite stories

[1:55:43] that you've always wanted to explore

[1:55:48] so much more

[1:55:58] as all of those tales of your most

[1:56:02] favorite dreams magic

[1:56:06] now expand

[1:56:08] right before your mind's eyes

[1:56:18] growing bigger and bigger

[1:56:22] and you're free to explore

[1:56:25] anywhere at all

[1:56:31] here in these magical dreamlands

[1:56:36] to see

[1:56:37] and hear

[1:56:39] and feel

[1:56:41] your imagination's

[1:56:43] total

[1:56:45] happiest cheerful dreams

[1:56:49] coming right now to life

[1:56:52] [Music]

[1:57:05] and after some relaxing time

[1:57:09] you find yourself looking over to freddy

[1:57:12] once again

[1:57:14] in your dreamy wonderment

[1:57:17] [Music]

[1:57:21] only to see your fox friend is bouncing

[1:57:25] around

[1:57:27] on the fluffiest cloud carpets

[1:57:30] [Music]

[1:57:34] rolling and prancing

[1:57:40] and getting up to a little more foxy

[1:57:43] mischief

[1:57:45] [Music]

[1:57:46] before he tells you

[1:57:49] he'll finally

[1:57:50] fall asleep

[1:57:54] [Music]

[1:57:57] and so you join into

[1:58:01] joining along with freddy's fun

[1:58:04] as you try out some foxy slinking tricks

[1:58:08] of your own

[1:58:09] [Music]

[1:58:16] and even some more foxy pouncing

[1:58:22] and laughing

[1:58:24] [Music]

[1:58:26] and jumping about

[1:58:28] [Music]

[1:58:35] as you drift and dream

[1:58:39] and laugh together

[1:58:42] so joyfully here

[1:58:48] so free to float through the misty puffs

[1:58:54] of these lovely peaceful clouds

[1:59:05] until at last

[1:59:08] the lovely soft misty clouds in front of

[1:59:12] you are parting a little more

[1:59:18] [Music]

[1:59:19] and you see the beautiful sparkling

[1:59:23] stars

[1:59:26] and the comets come out to play

[1:59:33] so far

[1:59:34] far above you

[1:59:36] [Music]

[1:59:37] shining out

[1:59:39] so very clearly

[1:59:46] and as you look up

[1:59:49] freddy helps you spot the twinkling

[1:59:52] and glittering planets

[1:59:55] of the whole solar system

[2:00:00] [Music]

[2:00:05] he even points out a secret

[2:00:08] constellation

[2:00:10] in the starry shape

[2:00:12] of a fox

[2:00:18] as that beautiful silver crescent moon

[2:00:23] appears so much

[2:00:26] much closer now

[2:00:30] it's almost as if you could be riding

[2:00:33] along

[2:00:35] on the moon

[2:00:36] [Music]

[2:00:40] because you feel you're moving closer to

[2:00:44] that shining

[2:00:46] magical moon

[2:00:51] so softly

[2:00:53] towards this soft comforting glow

[2:00:58] [Music]

[2:01:01] with all of its calming moonlight

[2:01:04] shining so much happiness

[2:01:08] and total kindness

[2:01:11] upon you

[2:01:17] you feel all of the moon's calmness

[2:01:22] and all of its warmth and kindness

[2:01:26] blessing you

[2:01:29] and protecting you

Frequently Asked Questions

The Happy Minds collection embeds evidence-informed techniques—breath work, sensory imagery, positive messaging, and music composed specifically for sleep—within engaging narratives that help calm the nervous system. Many parents report using these stories nightly as part of effective bedtime routines, with children falling asleep within the 20-30 minute runtime.
A traditional bedtime story prioritizes narrative entertainment and often leaves a listener's nervous system in an engaged or excited state. Sleep meditation for children explicitly teaches the body to relax through embedded techniques—breath work, progressive relaxation, sensory grounding—while wrapping those techniques in story, creating a designed therapeutic experience.
The Happy Minds collection appeals to roughly ages 4-10, though younger children (around 3-4) may benefit from the soothing voice and music, and older children or teens can use it as well. The slow pacing and animal companions are designed for children who need explicit guidance to reach relaxation.
Yes. The Happy Minds creators explicitly note that adults often find these stories equally relaxing. Many parents use the meditations themselves, and for adults struggling with sleep or anxiety, children's meditations can be less intimidating because they don't demand spiritual work—they simply invite rest.
Each story runs 20-30 minutes and is designed to guide the nervous system toward rest, but sleep onset varies. Some children fall asleep partway through; others find the meditation deeply calming even if they don't sleep immediately. The goal is nervous system regulation, which itself supports better sleep over time.
Many parents use the collection nightly as part of their bedtime routine, while others incorporate it several times a week. Consistency helps the nervous system recognize the signal that sleep is coming. One story per night (each approximately 20-30 minutes) is typical, and repetition is actually beneficial.
There are no reported clinical contraindications to nightly use of age-appropriate guided meditation. For most children, consistent use supports the development of healthy sleep habits and self-regulation. Children with severe anxiety or trauma may benefit from using meditation under guidance of a therapist.
