Tracee Stanley is a yoga nidra and meditation teacher, author and founder of Empowered Life Circle, a community of practices, rituals and Tantric teachings. Her work draws on more than 28 years of study in Sri Vidya Tantra and the teachings of the Himalayan Masters, and she describes herself as a post-lineage teacher.
Before teaching full time, she worked as a film producer in Hollywood, where she noticed the discomfort of people who seemed to have everything, a material abundance paired with spiritual emptiness. She opened her first yoga studio in Los Angeles in 2001, and has spent over 30 years in yoga and Tantra sharing practices that point toward silence, stillness and reflection.
Tracee is the author of Radiant Rest: Yoga Nidra for Deep Relaxation and Awakened Clarity and The Luminous Self: Sacred Yogic Practices & Rituals to Remember Who You Are (both Shambhala Publications), and Living Ritual: Infuse Each Day with Purpose and Spirit (St. Martin's Essentials/Sounds True). She was featured in the GMA Inspiration List in 2021, her work has appeared in the New York Times, Vogue and Well and Good, and in 2019 she was the featured yoga nidra and meditation teacher for Oprah Winfrey on the Oprah and Gayle's Girls Get Away cruise.
Her teaching centers on yoga nidra, rest, meditation, self-inquiry, nature as a teacher and ancestor reverence. She holds certificates from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Advanced Eco-Therapy, New Thinking, Best Practices, and Emerging Modalities, and in Advanced Ecopsychology. She is known for illuminating the power of liminal space and weaving devotion and ritual into daily life. She leads retreats, teacher trainings and mentorships in yoga nidra and Tantric meditation, hosts the Radiant Rest podcast, and is on the faculty at Esalen Institute.
