Scott Shute

Keynote Speaker

Scott Shute is a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator and executive coach who works on what he calls changing work from the inside out. He teaches compassion as a success strategy for individuals, for high-performing teams and for running a conscious business, and he aims to bring mindfulness and compassion into the business world in a way that is secular, inclusive, practical and powerful.

He spent over twenty years in leadership roles, running businesses and working as an entrepreneur. At LinkedIn he was VP of Global Customer Operations, leading a team of over a thousand people, and later became Head of Mindfulness and Compassion Programs. He began a regular contemplation practice at thirteen and started leading weekly sessions in college. At LinkedIn he began with a weekly meditation class, then served as a volunteer Executive Sponsor to create an official mindfulness program. The program offered 30-day challenges, retreats, weekly meditation sessions, workshops, online classes and a speaker series, alongside a framework and workshops on compassion.

Scott is the author of The Full Body Yes, published in 2021 and winner of a 2022 Nautilus Book Award. In summer 2023 he co-founded Changing Work, which supports solo operators and larger organizations as they grow heart-centered, conscious businesses. His keynotes and workshops, in person and online, focus on joy in the workplace, conscious leadership and self-awareness.

Away from work he is usually in nature with his camera, photographing light, fog and early-morning skies, and he donates nearly all of the profits from his photography sales to charity. He also plays guitar and cooks. He is based in San Jose, California.

Worth Knowing

Questions

Scott Shute is a keynote speaker, executive coach, and mindfulness teacher who has built his reputation by treating contemplative practice and compassion not as wellness perks, but as core business strategy. He spent over two decades in senior leadership at LinkedIn—including as VP of Global Customer Operations managing over a thousand people—before becoming the company's Head of Mindfulness and Compassion Programs. What makes him matter is that he doesn't speak about mindfulness from a distance: he's run large teams, built businesses, and seen firsthand how anxiety and reactivity damage productivity. His 2021 book, The Full Body Yes, won a Nautilus Book Award, and in 2023 he co-founded Changing Work to help organizations and entrepreneurs embed conscious leadership into their operations. People care because he translates contemplative practice into the language of business results, joy, and authenticity—without pseudoscience or spiritual dogma.
