Über diese Veranstaltung

Beschreibung

Rewilding Women is a five-night healing retreat for women at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, led by Jane Green, author of the memoir Rewilding. It is written for women who feel the life they have built no longer fits, and who are ready to stop performing who they think they should be and reconnect with who they are.

Drawing on themes from her book, Jane Green guides a reflective workshop on patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, shame, emotional numbing, and roles mistaken for identity. It is not a program of quick fixes or reinvention. It invites you to remember your true self.

What to Expect

Each day combines teaching with personal reflection, moving between individual exploration and community. You will work with guided writing and journaling, experiential exercises and visualization, meditation and embodied movement, facilitated group discussions, paired and small-group sharing, and storytelling. There is also time for quiet reflection in Omega's natural surroundings.

The aim is a safe, supportive setting where you can deepen your understanding of yourself while witnessing the journeys of others. Personal sharing is always by invitation rather than obligation.

The week opens with arrival and check-in on Sunday afternoon. From Monday through Thursday, the workshop meets in three sessions a day: 9:00 a.m. to noon, 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday closes with a morning session from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and check-out at 1:00 p.m. The schedule is subject to change at the faculty's discretion.

Participants leave with:

- Greater clarity about who they are beneath the roles they have played
- Practical tools for setting healthy boundaries
- Increased self-awareness and self-compassion
- Renewed trust in their intuition
- Writing practices that support continued reflection
- A personal rewilding manifesto
- A vision for a life that feels more authentic, joyful, and aligned with their values
- The experience of having been deeply seen and heard within a community of women

About Jane Green

Jane Green is a facilitator and the author of 21 novels, including 18 New York Times best sellers. Rewilding, the memoir behind this workshop, shapes the themes she brings into the room.

The Setting

The retreat takes place at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, with its walking trails and natural surroundings. Accommodation is booked separately and ranges from cabin rooms with private or shared baths, to a dorm single, to tent cabins and camping. On-campus housing includes meals and use of campus facilities and amenities, including optional classes, recreation, and parking. Women who live nearby can register as commuters, which also includes meals and facility access. Commuter check-in is on Monday morning from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. for anyone who has not checked in the previous evening.

Before You Go

It is especially meaningful for women navigating life transitions such as divorce, career change, menopause, empty nesting, grief, caregiving, or midlife reinvention, and it is equally appropriate for anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves. No prior experience with meditation, writing, or personal growth is needed, and no part of the workshop is physically strenuous. Enrollment is limited.

Reading Rewilding beforehand is encouraged but not required. Bring a journal and pen, comfortable clothing suitable for gentle movement, and shoes appropriate for walking outdoors. Personal coaching and one-on-one sessions are not part of the program.

Reading it is encouraged but not required. The workshop draws on themes from the book, such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, shame, emotional numbing, and roles mistaken for identity. Reading it first may give you a head start on those ideas.
No. Personal sharing is always by invitation rather than obligation. The program alternates between individual exploration and community, including paired and small-group sharing, so you can decide how much to open up.
It is designed for women who feel called toward greater authenticity, especially those going through divorce, career change, menopause, empty nesting, grief, caregiving, or midlife reinvention. No prior meditation, writing, or personal growth experience is needed. It may not suit anyone looking for quick fixes or a reinvention plan, since the workshop is about remembering your true self rather than building a new one.
