[0:00] This is side one of the first tape of
[0:04] the stress reduction and relaxation
[0:06] program that you have joined at the
[0:09] University of Massachusetts Medical
[0:12] Center. By playing this tape
[0:14] regularly and by doing what it says to
[0:17] do, you are assuming an active and
[0:20] powerful role in improving your
[0:24] health. During this process, it is best
[0:27] if you can manage to stay awake
[0:30] throughout the duration of the
[0:33] tape. This side is a guided body scan
[0:37] meditation designed to help you to enter
[0:40] and to dwell in a state of very deep
[0:43] physical and mental relaxation.
[0:49] It is best to arrange to do it in a warm
[0:53] and protected place in which you feel
[0:56] comfortable and
[0:58] secure and at a time when you will not
[1:01] be interrupted by anyone or by the
[1:06] telephone. Arrange to dress in loose and
[1:09] comfortable clothing and particularly
[1:12] clothing that does not constrict your
[1:15] waist and your breathing.
[1:19] It's helpful to see this time as a time
[1:22] that is totally set aside for
[1:24] you, as an opportunity to be by yourself
[1:28] and to be with yourself fully.
[1:33] See if you can allow it to be a
[1:36] nourishing time, a time you deserve to
[1:39] give yourself some positive energy and
[1:42] attention, a time in which to open to
[1:45] the sources of strength and healing
[1:48] within
[1:51] yourself. In doing work of this kind,
[1:55] it's important to remember not to try
[1:58] too hard to relax.
[2:01] This will just create
[2:04] tension. What we will be doing is
[2:06] becoming aware in each passing
[2:09] moment and just accepting what is
[2:12] happening in yourself. Looking at it
[2:16] clearly and seeing it as it is because
[2:19] it's already here. It's part of your
[2:21] experience in the moment for better or
[2:24] for worse.
[2:26] Let go of the tendency which we all have
[2:28] to want things to be different from how
[2:31] they are right
[2:33] now and allow things to be exactly as
[2:36] you find them. Allow yourself to be
[2:40] exactly as you
[2:42] are. Use the instructions for guidance
[2:45] as best you can, watching your body and
[2:48] the activity of your mind as we go
[2:51] along.
[2:53] letting go of judgmental and critical
[2:56] thoughts in particular and just doing
[2:58] what it says to do as best you can and
[3:01] being aware of how you feel of what is
[3:05] happening. Remember that there is no
[3:07] right way to feel while you are doing
[3:10] this. The way you are feeling is the way
[3:12] you are feeling right now. Just
[3:14] accepting it and giving yourself
[3:17] permission to feel what you're feeling
[3:19] and seeing that it's okay.
[3:23] Do this in whatever posture or position
[3:26] is comfortable. If lying on your back is
[3:28] not comfortable, it's really your
[3:31] sensitivity and level of attention and
[3:34] not the way you are lying which is
[3:36] important.
[3:41] So now let's uh arrange to lie down on
[3:47] our backs if possible on a mat or a
[3:50] thick rug or or on your bed and allowing
[3:55] your eyes to close gently if if you feel
[3:58] comfortable with it. Letting the arms
[4:01] lie alongside your body, palms open
[4:06] towards the ceiling if that feels
[4:08] comfortable.
[4:10] and allowing the feet to fall away from
[4:13] each
[4:15] other and slowly bringing your attention
[4:18] to the
[4:19] fact that you are
[4:25] breathing. Not manipulating your breath
[4:28] in any way, but simply experiencing
[4:32] it as the air moves in and out of your
[4:36] body.
[4:39] and directing your attention in
[4:41] particular to your belly, to your
[4:45] abdomen. And feeling the sensations in
[4:50] that
[4:51] region as the breath comes into your
[4:54] body and the abdomen expands
[4:59] gently and as the breath moves out of
[5:02] your body and the belly deflates.
[5:07] And just following with your mind's eye
[5:10] the rhythmic movements of your belly
[5:13] with each
[5:14] breath. The
[5:16] rising of your belly on the inb
[5:19] breath and the falling on the
[5:26] outreath. And on each outreath just
[5:29] letting go, letting your body become
[5:33] heavy as it sinks a little bit deeper
[5:36] into the floor or into your
[5:47] mat. Just full attention in each moment
[5:51] to your breathing.
[5:57] The inb
[5:59] breath and the
[6:02] outreath following rhythmically the one
[6:05] on the
[6:08] other. As the body sinks with every
[6:14] outreath into the
[6:16] floor into your
[6:19] mat as you let go.
[6:34] Now when you feel ready
[6:36] to let's shift the focus of our
[6:41] attention
[6:43] to the toes of the left
[6:47] foot. Just taking your mind and moving
[6:51] it away from your belly down the left
[6:55] leg all the way to the foot and all the
[6:59] way out to your
[7:01] toes. and just becoming aware
[7:04] of whatever the feelings are in this
[7:07] region of your
[7:09] body. There may be sensations of
[7:12] tingling or moisture, of itching, of
[7:18] warmth, whatever they are, it's not
[7:21] important, but just feeling your toes as
[7:25] they are. And if you find
[7:27] that you are registering a blank when
[7:32] you tune to this region then just
[7:34] experiencing not feeling experiencing
[7:38] what's
[7:40] there and just breathing with these
[7:48] sensations. Experiencing the big toe and
[7:52] if you can the little toe. not moving
[7:55] them but just feeling them individually
[7:58] and perhaps the toes in
[8:04] between. And as you breathe in, just
[8:07] imagining that the breath is moving
[8:09] right down through the lungs and through
[8:11] the belly and down the left leg all the
[8:14] way to your
[8:15] toes. And as you breathe out, that the
[8:18] breath is just moving back up from your
[8:21] toes and ultimately out your nose.
[8:25] So that you're breathing in down to your
[8:29] toes and breathing out from your
[8:36] toes. And when you're ready, just on the
[8:40] outreath, letting go of your toes
[8:43] completely, allowing this region of your
[8:47] body to just dissolve in your mind's eye
[8:51] and move your attention and bring it to
[8:55] focus on the bottom of your left foot.
[8:59] and whatever feelings there are in this
[9:03] particular
[9:06] region. Breathing with it,
[9:11] feeling the bottom of your
[9:17] foot. And when you're ready, breathing
[9:20] down the leg to the bottom of your foot.
[9:23] And on the outreath, breathing out from
[9:26] the bottom of your foot and just letting
[9:28] it
[9:38] go. And coming to focus now on the
[9:42] heel, the place where your heel is
[9:45] making contact with the floor or the mat
[9:48] or whatever. And just feeling the sense
[9:51] of touch and
[9:56] pressure. And when you're ready,
[9:59] breathing into the
[10:01] heel. And on the outreath, just letting
[10:05] go of your
[10:05] [Music]
[10:07] heel. Becoming aware of the top of your
[10:12] foot and whatever feelings or lack of
[10:15] feelings there are from that particular
[10:17] region.
[10:19] Not so much thinking about your foot as
[10:22] just being here with it, feeling it,
[10:26] letting it predominate in the field of
[10:29] your awareness at the moment.
[10:33] Breathing with your
[10:35] foot and letting that awareness spread
[10:39] to the ankle as
[10:41] well and feeling your own left
[10:47] ankle. Breathing with
[10:50] it. And when you're ready, breathing,
[10:55] directing the breath down to the ankle.
[11:00] And on the outreath, just letting go of
[11:02] the ankle and the entirety of your left
[11:05] foot as you relax
[11:08] into a deeper state of stillness and
[11:22] awareness and become
[11:25] aware of the left lower leg.
[11:30] the shin in front and the calf muscle in
[11:34] back and any
[11:38] sensations, feelings in your lower left
[11:42] leg, not just on the surface, but deep
[11:45] as well, right down into the
[11:48] bones in the lower leg.
[11:54] experiencing this
[11:57] region as it is. Not trying to make it
[12:01] be any
[12:05] different. Just
[12:07] accepting the feelings that you
[12:12] feel, breathing with
[12:14] [Music]
[12:16] them, and when you're ready, just
[12:19] letting go of this part of your body as
[12:22] well.
[12:24] As you relax and sink even deeper into
[12:28] into the mat, into the floor, as you let
[12:37] go, letting the focus now move up to
[12:41] your
[12:49] knee. Feeling your knee, the kneecap,
[12:55] and sides and back of the knee, and and
[12:58] deep into the joint. Just experiencing
[13:01] your left
[13:03] knee, breathing with
[13:07] it. And on an outreath, just letting it
[13:10] dissolve as well.
[13:21] And moving now into the region of the
[13:25] thigh above the
[13:27] knee on the surface and deep and all the
[13:30] way up to the groin on the inside and
[13:33] the the hip
[13:36] and on the
[13:38] outside. and just experiencing your left
[13:41] thigh, letting it be as soft and and
[13:44] relaxed as
[13:46] possible. If there's any
[13:49] tension in the thigh or anywhere else
[13:52] when you come to it, just allowing it to
[13:56] exit on each
[14:00] outreath allowing the thigh to be soft
[14:03] and relaxed.
[14:05] breathing with your
[14:09] thigh. And when you're ready, taking a
[14:12] deeper breath in down into the
[14:17] thigh. And as you breathe out, just
[14:20] letting it dissolve and relax and
[14:24] soften as you let go.
[14:40] Then let's
[14:42] move over to the right leg and become
[14:47] aware of the feelings in the right
[14:50] toes, the toes of the right foot.
[14:55] And without wiggling them, if you if you
[14:58] can, just feeling the sensations of the
[15:01] big
[15:02] toe and the little
[15:06] toe and the
[15:10] others. Breathing, directing the inb
[15:14] breaths
[15:15] down into the foot and right to the
[15:18] toes. And on the outreath, just
[15:22] letting the breath come up from the toes
[15:25] and right out through your
[15:33] nose. Just registering the sensations
[15:36] that are in this region.
[15:40] not judging them or worrying about what
[15:43] your toes should feel like, but just
[15:45] allowing them to be exactly as you're
[15:49] experiencing them
[15:52] now. And when you're
[15:55] ready, taking a deeper breath in down
[15:58] into the toes.
[16:02] And on the outreath, just letting your
[16:05] toes dissolve in the field of your
[16:08] awareness and letting the attention
[16:10] shift onto the bottom of of your right
[16:15] foot. And this time including the heel
[16:19] in the place where the foot makes
[16:22] contact with the floor, with the mat.
[16:28] Just tuning to any and all
[16:33] sensations, breathing with
[16:40] them. And when you're ready, just on an
[16:44] outreath, letting go of the bottom of
[16:46] your
[16:49] foot as you
[16:52] relax. As you let go of this
[16:59] region and let the attention gently move
[17:02] to the top of the foot and to the
[17:15] ankle. Breathing in and breathing
[17:19] out.
[17:21] experiencing this region of your body.
[17:26] And when you're ready, just letting it
[17:30] go, letting it relax and
[17:35] soften and dissolve in in your mind's
[17:40] eye as you become aware of the lower
[17:48] leg region of the body like most others
[17:52] that we don't pay much attention to and
[17:55] take for granted. Ed and now just
[17:58] feeling this extremely important part of
[18:01] your body as it
[18:03] is appreciating it.
[18:10] Perhaps when you're ready breathing into
[18:15] it and as you breathe out just letting
[18:19] go of it as
[18:24] well. And become aware of your right
[18:27] [Music]
[18:46] knee. Breathing down into the
[18:50] knee. And on the outreath letting go of
[18:54] the knee as
[19:02] well. And now the right
[19:06] thigh, the entire region of the upper
[19:09] leg between the hip and pelvis and
[19:13] groin all the way to the
[19:16] knee. Feeling your right
[19:20] thigh, any sensations at
[19:28] all. Being as precise as you can about
[19:31] seeing and feeling these sensations,
[19:35] whether they be sensations of warmth or
[19:38] tingling or heaviness or
[19:42] lightness, blood flow, whatever.
[19:47] And just
[19:48] sensing, feeling your thigh as it
[19:55] is. And when you're ready, breathing
[19:58] into the
[20:01] thigh. And as you breathe out, just
[20:04] letting go of this region, too.
[20:15] And becoming aware now of the
[20:18] pelvis, the entire region of your
[20:23] pelvis from one hip to the other.
[20:29] aware of the buttocks in contact with
[20:32] the mat or the
[20:36] floor and the sensations of contact and
[20:39] of weight and perhaps of heaviness or
[20:42] whatever you're feeling.
[20:46] Becoming aware of the region of the
[20:50] genitals and whatever
[20:53] sensations or lack of sensations you are
[20:57] experiencing in this
[20:59] [Music]
[21:01] region. Becoming aware of the hips
[21:07] themselves and just breathing with the
[21:10] entirety of your pelvis.
[21:19] And when you're ready, directing the
[21:21] breath on the inb breath down into your
[21:25] [Music]
[21:27] pelvis. And as you breathe out, just
[21:30] letting the pelvis soften and release
[21:33] and any tension in it go with the
[21:36] breath. As you sink even deeper into a
[21:40] state of relaxed awareness
[21:43] and
[21:47] stillness, totally present in each
[21:50] moment.
[22:03] content to just
[22:05] be and to just be right here as you
[22:10] are right
[22:16] now. And let's direct our attention now
[22:20] to the lower back to that region that
[22:24] connects up with the pelvis that comes
[22:26] out of the
[22:27] [Music]
[22:28] pelvis and just experiencing whatever
[22:31] sensations are here. This is of course a
[22:34] region
[22:35] that for many of
[22:39] us sometimes gives us
[22:41] [Music]
[22:42] problems. There may be sensations of
[22:46] some
[22:48] intensity and just for the moment
[22:51] experiencing your back as it
[22:54] is letting the breath penetrate really
[22:58] move into every region of your lower
[23:01] back.
[23:02] On the inb breath and on the outreath
[23:04] just letting any tension and tightness,
[23:09] any holding on or any
[23:13] intensity just be there and flow out
[23:16] with the outreath to the extent that it
[23:21] will. And as you breathe out, just
[23:24] letting go of the lower
[23:29] back and moving up into the region of
[23:32] your upper
[23:39] back and just feeling the sensations in
[23:42] this
[23:48] region, breathing with them. You may
[23:51] even feel your rib cage in back as well
[23:55] as in front expand on the inb breath.
[23:58] The
[23:59] ribs being in back as well as in front
[24:02] coming all the way around to the
[24:06] spine. And any tension or tightness
[24:10] or reservoirs of of uh fatigue or
[24:14] discomfort in the upper back region or
[24:18] central back region.
[24:20] Just letting them dissolve
[24:23] and move out with the outreath as
[24:27] you let go and sink even
[24:33] deeper into stillness and
[24:43] relaxation and allowing your attention
[24:47] to shift to the belly. belly again and
[24:50] experiencing the rising and falling of
[24:54] your belly as you
[25:00] breathe.
[25:05] And just allowing the awareness to
[25:09] expand from the belly in the front of
[25:11] your body to the chest as
[25:16] well. Feeling the movements of your
[25:20] diaphragm, that umbrella-like muscle
[25:23] that separates your belly from your
[25:27] chest,
[25:28] from your heart and your
[25:34] lungs. And just for a moment
[25:36] experiencing the chest as it expands on
[25:39] the inb breath
[25:42] and contracts somewhat on the outreath.
[25:48] And if you can, tuning to
[25:51] the rhythmic beating of your heart
[25:54] within your
[25:56] chest, feeling it if you
[26:02] can, as well as the lungs expanding on
[26:06] either side of your
[26:09] heart,
[26:11] nourishing every region, every organ,
[26:15] every tissue of your body with
[26:17] oxygenated
[26:18] blood. Each time the heart pumps
[26:24] blood throughout the
[26:30] body.
[26:31] And as the blood
[26:34] returns to the
[26:36] heart, giving off the waste products of
[26:39] metabolism and
[26:42] purifying the body in a rhythmic cycle
[26:45] of renewed
[26:48] energy and continuous
[26:51] detoxification,
[26:53] purification on the
[26:57] outreath just experiencing your your
[27:00] chest. and your belly as you lie
[27:05] here and the muscles on the chest
[27:10] wall,
[27:12] breasts, the entirety of your the front
[27:16] of your
[27:19] body. And when you're
[27:22] ready, on an outreath, just letting this
[27:26] region dissolve into relaxation as well.
[27:36] and allowing your attention to move
[27:39] to your
[27:42] fingertips. And we'll do both hands
[27:46] together. Just becoming aware of the
[27:49] sensations now in the tips of your
[27:51] fingers and
[27:54] thumbs. You may feel some pulsations
[27:56] from the blood flow.
[27:59] You may
[28:00] feel a dampness or a warmth or whatever.
[28:04] Just feeling your fingers, the insides
[28:08] of them and the
[28:12] backs of your
[28:15] fingers, right out to the
[28:23] tips. and letting the field of your
[28:26] awareness expand to include the palms of
[28:29] your
[28:31] hands and the backs of your
[28:41] hands and the
[28:45] wrists. And here again, perhaps picking
[28:48] up the
[28:49] pulsations of the arteries in the wrists
[28:52] as the blood flows to and
[28:56] from your
[29:03] hands. And becoming aware as well of the
[29:11] forearms and the elbows.
[29:20] any and all
[29:25] sensations regardless of discomfort or
[29:29] problems with one region or
[29:32] another. Just experiencing your body as
[29:36] it is and in particular now your arms.
[29:43] allowing the field of your awareness to
[29:46] include now the upper
[29:51] arms right up to the armpits and the
[29:55] shoulders.
[30:03] The shoulders are a reservoir of tension
[30:07] for many of us. Accumulated tension
[30:11] and often the cause
[30:13] of some pain and perhaps neck
[30:18] [Music]
[30:20] problems during the day. These stresses
[30:23] often wind
[30:25] up
[30:27] creating this tension in our shoulders
[30:31] and neck and at the moment just
[30:35] experiencing your
[30:37] shoulders. If there is any tension just
[30:40] on the inb breath breathing into your
[30:43] shoulders and into your arms and in the
[30:46] outreath just letting that tension
[30:49] dissolve as you breathe out letting go
[30:52] of the tension and letting go of your
[30:55] arms all the way from the fingertips up
[30:58] through the shoulders
[31:03] themselves as you sink even deeper.
[31:08] into a state of relaxed
[31:13] observation
[31:16] and
[31:25] awareness. Just being present in each
[31:28] moment.
[31:37] letting go of whatever thoughts come up
[31:40] or whatever impulses to move or to do
[31:43] something else and just
[31:45] experiencing yourself in this moment.
[31:52] And now let's let the focus of our
[31:55] attention move on to the
[32:00] neck to the back of the
[32:04] neck and the
[32:07] spine in the neck region and to the
[32:10] throat and feeling the entirety of this
[32:13] region of your body.
[32:16] experiencing what it feels like perhaps
[32:18] when you
[32:20] swallow and when you breathe as the air
[32:24] goes from the head to the chest through
[32:27] the neck
[32:30] region. Breathing in down into the neck
[32:36] intentionally. And on the outreath just
[32:39] letting go of the neck as well.
[32:45] letting it relax and dissolve in your
[32:49] mind's
[32:57] eye and becoming aware
[33:01] of your face.
[33:07] another region that often stores
[33:09] accumulated
[33:10] tension over the course of a
[33:14] day. And
[33:18] let's focus first on the
[33:21] jaw and the
[33:24] chin. Just
[33:27] experiencing it as it
[33:33] is. Any
[33:37] sensations right up in the hinge region
[33:40] of the
[33:41] [Music]
[33:44] jaw. Breathing with this
[33:47] region. And on the outreath when you're
[33:50] ready, just letting it
[33:51] [Music]
[33:54] dissolve. Becoming aware of your
[33:57] lips and
[33:59] your your
[34:02] mouth. the teeth and the
[34:06] gums, your
[34:09] tongue and the roof of your mouth
[34:14] and the back of the mouth and throat.
[34:20] And just breathing with this region and
[34:24] the sensations, the feelings of your
[34:27] mouth and lips and
[34:32] cheeks. And on an outreath, just letting
[34:34] this region dissolve as
[34:38] well. And becoming aware
[34:42] of your
[34:45] nose. And now feeling the breath as it
[34:48] moves in and out at the
[34:50] [Music]
[34:58] nostrils. Just being aware of yourself
[35:02] as the breathing goes
[35:06] on. And be aware of
[35:10] your your
[35:15] eyes and the
[35:17] [Music]
[35:19] eyebrows and
[35:21] the space between the
[35:25] eyebrows and the entire region around
[35:28] your eyes, the eyelids.
[35:34] And often there's tension in this region
[35:38] as well. And just if there's any tension
[35:41] on the outreath, just letting it leave
[35:44] as the breath
[35:51] leaves, allowing your your temples to
[35:55] relax and
[35:57] dissolve as you experience the
[35:59] sensations on the side of your head.
[36:09] and breathing to your
[36:14] ears and breathing out from your ears
[36:17] and letting them go as
[36:25] well. And now the forehead.
[36:33] Just breathing with your
[36:37] forehead, letting it
[36:43] soften. It's a seat
[36:45] of stored emotions, often tension and
[36:50] anger,
[36:53] frustration. And if you sense any
[36:56] emotions associated with the tension or
[36:59] feelings in the muscles of your face,
[37:01] just being aware of that, breathing in,
[37:06] nourishing your face, asking it to
[37:10] relax and dissolve
[37:13] into relaxation and stillness.
[37:20] Now just coming up on the entirety of
[37:25] your face, including the forehead.
[37:27] Breathing with the entirety of your
[37:31] face as if you were coming up from
[37:34] underneath from
[37:37] inside. And just letting the entirety of
[37:39] your face, including the forehead,
[37:42] dissolve into
[37:44] neutral. Most of the time it's busy
[37:47] projecting on
[37:51] view or
[37:53] another. For now, just letting it be as
[37:56] it is. Not working over time. Just
[38:00] letting it
[38:00] [Music]
[38:01] be. Letting it be
[38:04] still and
[38:06] neutral. Your own
[38:11] face, relaxed, and and at peace.
[38:22] And
[38:24] now becoming aware of the back of the
[38:26] head and the top of the head, the entire
[38:29] region of the cranium and upper regions
[38:33] of the
[38:35] skull. And breathing in now to this
[38:38] whole
[38:40] region. Breathing out from this region.
[38:48] and
[38:50] focusing on a spot now at the very top
[38:53] of your head about the size of a a
[38:56] quarter
[38:57] perhaps. And just letting the breath
[38:59] move from your nose right up in your
[39:01] mind's eye to the to this spot at the
[39:04] top of your
[39:06] head, the very crown of your
[39:11] head. and breathing out from this region
[39:13] right down through your nose
[39:16] again. And then just imagining that that
[39:20] spot opens up, can open up like the
[39:24] blowhole of a whale and that you can
[39:27] breathe right through the top of your
[39:29] head. So breathing in and out right
[39:32] through the top of your
[39:35] head and letting the air and the energy
[39:38] move right out of your head and right
[39:41] back down into
[39:44] it. So that you're imagining that you're
[39:47] breathing now from the top of the head
[39:50] right through the body and out the
[39:52] bottoms of the
[39:54] feet. And breathing
[39:57] now in through the bottoms of the feet
[40:00] and right out the top of your
[40:02] head. And just watching and allowing
[40:05] your breath to move in this way. All the
[40:09] entire length of your
[40:13] body. All of your muscles in a deep
[40:16] state of relaxation.
[40:19] And the mind simply aware of this flow
[40:22] of energy, of this flow of
[40:28] breath, experiencing your entire body
[40:43] breathing. And when you're
[40:45] ready,
[40:47] just feeling your body as a
[40:51] whole from the top of your head to the
[40:55] bottoms of your
[41:00] feet. Lying here in a state
[41:03] of stillness and deep relaxation.
[41:14] and
[41:15] sinking deeper and
[41:19] deeper into a state
[41:23] of
[41:26] well-being. As we come in touch
[41:29] with feeling complete, feeling whole as
[41:34] we are in touch with our essential
[41:38] completeness.
[41:42] A
[41:43] realm in which our
[41:45] limitations are not
[41:48] confining. A realm of
[41:51] oneness. A realm of
[41:54] silence, of
[41:58] stillness, of
[42:03] peace. Open to things just as they are
[42:07] in each moment.
[42:11] And seeing
[42:13] that this
[42:15] attitude and this stillness itself is
[42:22] healing and allowing the world to be as
[42:26] it is beyond our personal fears and
[42:32] concerns, beyond the tendencies of the
[42:35] mind to want everything to be a certain
[42:38] Okay. And just seeing ourselves as
[42:41] complete right
[42:43] now as we
[42:47] are looking and experiencing deeply the
[42:52] fullness of of our life and the
[42:56] limitless qualities of
[42:58] life. Experiencing the fullness of our
[43:02] ability to love and to care.
[43:07] and experiencing being totally
[43:10] awake right now.
[43:53] and
[43:55] and as the tape
[43:58] ends, bringing your awareness back to
[44:01] your body again and feeling it as a
[44:05] whole. And now you might want to wiggle
[44:08] your toes and
[44:10] fingers and allowing this uh calmness
[44:13] and this
[44:15] centeredness to remain with you as you
[44:18] move now and as you resume the
[44:22] activities of your
[44:26] life. You may wish to congratulate
[44:29] yourself on having taken the time and
[44:32] the energy to nourish yourself in this
[44:34] way.
[44:38] And to remember that this state of
[44:40] relaxation and clarity is accessible to
[44:43] you by simply attending to the inb
[44:47] breath and to the outbreath in any
[44:49] moment, no matter what's happening at
[44:52] any time of of the
[44:54] day. and letting it be a source of
[44:58] constant strength and energy for you and
[45:02] for others with whom you share your
[45:06] world. and letting it provide a deep
[45:10] personal reservoir of balance and
[45:13] well-being from which you may make
[45:16] conscious decisions and choices about
[45:19] how to live a more integrated and
[45:23] healthy and satisfying life.
