Cannabis as Psychedelic Medicine: ACultivation & Ceremonial Guide

Cannabis is not a gateway drug, nor is it merely recreational "weed"—it is one of the most powerful and misunderstood plant medicines available, especially when cultivated and approached with intention. In the right context, with proper preparation and understanding, cannabis functions as a teacher and mirror, revealing the landscape of the psyche and illuminating what stands between intention and lived experience. The distinction between using cannabis as a means to an end (chasing a high) and using it as a medicine (receiving what it shows you) is central to unlocking its genuine therapeutic and spiritual potential.

Why Does Cannabis Cause Anxiety and Paranoia for Some People?

One of the most common complaints about cannabis is that it triggers anxiety, paranoia, and racing thoughts. But this framing misses a crucial point: the plant is not generating these states ex nihilo. Rather, cannabis acts as a mirror, externalizing and amplifying what is already present in the psyche. As the teacher explains, "what we're experiencing when we're interacting with cannabis and other medicines as well is not actually the plant giving us paranoia or giving us anxiety because that's an externalization of power but it's showing us what's already in there."

When someone reports that cannabis makes them anxious, they are actually being shown their own baseline anxiety—the thoughts and stories they habitually live with but rarely notice. For some people, cannabis provides distance from this stream: a chance to step into the observer perspective and realize "I am not my thoughts." For others, it amplifies identification with thought, collapsing the user into the very anxieties they usually manage through distraction and busy-ness. This difference is not a flaw in the plant; it is precisely the medicine working differently for different nervous systems and psychic structures.

The reframe is simple but transformative: if cannabis triggers your anxiety, that anxiety already exists. Rather than avoid the plant, one could use it intentionally to exaggerate and thus confront what you normally suppress. As the teaching suggests, when you laugh at the devil—when you look directly at anxiety instead of running from it—its power diminishes. The discomfort becomes workable rather than monstrous.

How Does Cannabis Function as End-of-Life Medicine?

Beyond recreational and psychological use, cannabis has profound applications in palliative and end-of-life care. The plant's ability to ease physical pain, reduce existential anxiety, and facilitate presence and connection makes it invaluable for those approaching death. Unlike many pharmaceuticals that numb sensation entirely, cannabis allows patients to remain lucid while reducing suffering—a crucial distinction in dignified dying. The medicine operates not by erasing experience but by shifting the relationship to it, permitting acceptance and even peace in final days.

What Is the Difference Between Edibles and Smoked Cannabis?

Edibles represent a different initiation into cannabis medicine than smoking or vaporizing. When cannabis is consumed as an edible, the onset is delayed (often 1-2 hours), the duration is extended (often 6-8 hours or more), and the intensity can be deeper and more introspective. Edibles bypass the lungs and are metabolized by the liver, converting delta-9-THC into 11-hydroxy-THC, a metabolite that some users report as more psychoactive and potentially more challenging.

This distinction matters because an edible experience requires more surrender and tolerance for a longer arc. A user cannot course-correct as quickly; they must commit to the experience for hours. For this reason, edibles are particularly suited to ceremonial or intentional use rather than casual consumption. Starting with a low dose—often around 2.5 to 5 milligrams of THC for a novice—is essential. The instruction "start low and go slow" is not cliché; it reflects the reality that THC dosing is non-linear, and individual sensitivity varies widely based on tolerance, body weight, metabolism, and psychic state.

Dosing also depends on the ratio of cannabinoids in the strain. A strain high in CBD (cannabidiol) alongside THC will produce a less anxious, more grounded experience than a strain bred purely for THC potency. This is a crucial point: the criteria for excellent medicinal cannabis is not maximum THC concentration but rather a balanced, entourage effect of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant compounds working in concert.

What Are the Potential Negative Consequences of Careless Cannabis Use?

Cannabis can be misused in several ways that undermine its potential as medicine. One common pitfall is using cannabis to numb rather than to illuminate. If someone takes cannabis to escape difficult emotions, thoughts, or situations without ever examining what they are escaping from, they are not engaging the medicine—they are using it as anesthesia. This pattern can entrench avoidance and prevent the very awareness and adaptation that genuine healing requires.

Another trap is relying on bad advice or peer pressure. Many people encounter cannabis first in social contexts where the goal is simply to get high, and early conditioning around "how to use it" can take years to unwind. If your first experiences taught you that the goal was maximum intoxication or that refusing a joint made you uncool, those imprints remain. Later, when approaching cannabis as medicine, you may need to actively deprogramme that conditioning and reclaim the plant outside those social contexts.

Pairing cannabis with the wrong activities or substances can also create unnecessary suffering. Combining cannabis with alcohol, for instance, is generally discouraged because alcohol dampens the clarity that cannabis can offer. Similarly, using cannabis in chaotic or high-stress environments—loud parties, competitive social situations, driving—will amplify anxiety and sense of threat. The medicine requires a container: a safe, quiet, preferably supportive space where the psyche can work without external pressure.

Does Cannabis Have Untapped Potential as Medicine?

Yes. Cannabis is arguably one of the most underestimated plant medicines in terms of its capacity for healing and insight. This underestimation stems partly from decades of prohibition and criminalization, which stalled research and cultural refinement. There is no deep tradition of cannabis ceremony as there is with ayahuasca, psilocybin mushrooms, or other classical psychedelics. As a result, most people relate to cannabis through recreational or self-medicating habits rather than intentional, supported practice.

What cannabis can offer—when properly cultivated, dosed, and held in ceremony—is access to deeper self-knowledge, emotional release, spiritual connection, and psychological flexibility. It is a teacher that meets people where they are and does not require the same leap of faith or intense ego dissolution that stronger psychedelics demand. For many, cannabis is a more accessible entry point into the examined life and the capacity to witness one's own mind.

How Can Cannabis Be Safely Paired with Other Psychedelics?

Combining cannabis with other psychedelics requires careful consideration. Cannabis tends to intensify and deepen the experience of other medicines. When added to psilocybin or LSD, for example, cannabis can amplify visionary content, emotional intensity, and the sense of dissolution. For some users, this amplification is exactly what they seek. For others, it creates overwhelming territory that the psyche cannot integrate in real time.

The timing of pairing also matters. Adding cannabis at the peak of another psychedelic experience is different from adding it near the integration phase. Some practitioners find that cannabis at the tail end of a psilocybin or LSD journey can deepen insight and facilitate the transition back to ordinary consciousness. Others find that mixing them creates a chaotic or distressing blend.

What should not be combined with cannabis includes depressants like alcohol and benzodiazepines, which muddy the clarity. Stimulants like caffeine in large doses can amplify an already racing mind. The general principle is: if you do not understand how a substance will interact with cannabis, do not combine them. Start by knowing the cannabis experience alone, deeply, before layering other elements.

What Should You Do If You Have a Challenging Cannabis Experience?

A challenging experience—one marked by anxiety, paranoia, or emotional overwhelm—is not a failure. It is information. The first step is grounding: remembering that you have taken a plant medicine and that the state is temporary. This can be as simple as repeating to yourself: "I took cannabis, it will pass, I am safe." Shifting your environment—moving to a different room, going outside, changing the music or lighting—can interrupt a difficult loop and restore a sense of agency.

Somatic tools are particularly effective. Breathwork, especially elongated exhalations, activates the parasympathetic nervous system and counters the fight-flight response. Physical movement—gentle yoga, stretching, walking—can metabolize anxiety that is locked in the body. Some people find that holding a beloved object, hearing a soothing voice, or being in the presence of a trusted companion helps restore groundedness.

It is also useful to avoid the impulse to fight or suppress the experience. Resistance amplifies discomfort. Instead, a posture of curious witnessing—observing the anxiety or fear as if watching weather move across a sky—can dissolve the identification with the state and restore perspective. This is where cannabis, even in difficult moments, teaches: it shows you that you are larger than any single emotion or thought pattern.

What Methods Optimize Cannabis Cultivation?

Proper cultivation dramatically affects the medicine's potency and quality. The standard industrial approach—maximizing THC yield through selective breeding and high-stress growing methods—does not necessarily produce superior medicine. In fact, it often produces an unbalanced plant that is taxing rather than nourishing.

Optimal cultivation attends to the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds. This requires knowledge of strain genetics, growing conditions (light, temperature, humidity, soil composition), and harvest timing. Cannabis flowers produce THC and CBD at different rates depending on when they are harvested; earlier harvest favors CBD and a more grounded effect, while late harvest favors THC and a more cerebral, potentially anxious effect.

Some advanced cultivators employ biogeometry and other energetic methods to enhance plant medicine quality. These approaches recognize that the cultivator's intention and presence—literally being involved in the process of growing rather than automating it—affects the plant's energetic and medicinal properties. This aligns with traditional plant medicine practice in many cultures: the idea that the healer's consciousness and relationship to the plant matter as much as the plant's chemistry.

Another consideration is sustainability and ethical cultivation. Cannabis grown in compliance with regulations, without pesticides or heavy metals, and under conditions that honor the plant and the land from which it grows will carry a different energetic signature than cannabis grown purely for profit in industrial monocultures. This is not mere sentiment—the quality of the grower's attention and ethics does seem to affect the quality of the medicine.

How Do You Develop a Spiritual Connection with Cannabis as a Plant Spirit?

In traditional plant medicine contexts, plants are understood to have a spirit or consciousness—a teaching intelligence that transmits guidance to humans who approach with respect and openness. Cannabis, in this framework, is called Santa Maria by some traditions, and it is understood as a medicine spirit that wants to help humans see more clearly and connect more deeply with themselves.

Developing this connection begins with intentionality. Before consuming cannabis, one might set an intention or ask a question: "What do I need to see? What is in my way? What wants to be healed?" This frames the experience not as a pursuit of intoxication but as a conversation with a teacher. During the experience, maintaining a meditative or witnessing stance—rather than being swept along by sensation—allows you to receive what the plant is showing you. After the experience, integration is crucial: journaling, talking with trusted others, or sitting in silence to allow insights to settle and reveal their meaning.

Over time, with repeated intentional engagement, a relationship develops. You begin to recognize the particular quality of cannabis's teaching, the way it illuminates certain truths or unwinds certain knots in the psyche. Many users report that cannabis, when approached this way, becomes a trusted ally and guide—something consulted in times of confusion or stagnation, rather than something pursued for escape.

Where to go from here

If you are considering cannabis as medicine, begin by examining your current relationship with it. Do you use it to escape or to examine? To numb or to illuminate? There is no judgment in this inquiry—only clarity. If you want to shift toward medicine, start small: source a high-quality strain with balanced cannabinoid ratios, choose a safe and quiet setting, set an intention, and approach the experience with curiosity rather than expectation. Consider pairing it with a somatic practice—breathwork, yoga, or bodywork—that can help integrate what emerges. If you are already working with cannabis as medicine, deepen your relationship by learning about cultivation, by exploring different strains and their unique teaching qualities, and by joining communities or webinars where cannabis is discussed with the seriousness and reverence it deserves. Above all, remember that the plant is a mirror: what you see reflected is you, and that truth—however uncomfortable—is the beginning of real medicine.

[0:00] what we're experiencing when we're

[0:02] interacting with cannabis and other

[0:03] medicines as well is not actually the

[0:05] plant giving us paranoia or giving us

[0:07] anxiety because that's an

[0:08] externalization of power but it's

[0:09] showing us what's already in there yeah

[0:11] and it's showing us what might be in the

[0:13] way of say if we made an intention to be

[0:14] happy what might be standing in the way

[0:16] of us actually being happy at the end of

[0:18] the experience but in reality i think a

[0:20] lot of people use cannabis as a means to

[0:22] an end where they're looking for the

[0:23] effect of it where in reality what i've

[0:26] found is that the real medicine that

[0:27] comes from cannabis is in what is shown

[0:30] to you what is illuminated for you when

[0:32] you're in that experience ryan sprague

[0:35] came to this podcast in a very

[0:36] interesting way i actually got to sample

[0:40] his product which happens to be cannabis

[0:44] and when i tried it i was like oh [ __ ]

[0:48] this guy is doing something different

[0:50] than i've ever experienced before

[0:53] and when i sampled what he was doing and

[0:56] you'll hear about all of the ways that

[0:57] he cultivates his cannabis on this

[1:00] podcast and also all of the ways that i

[1:02] use cannabis ceremonially and he does

[1:04] the same it really elevates this plant

[1:07] to one of the most important plant

[1:10] medicine teachers that i've ever had

[1:12] access to it's truly stunning the

[1:15] potential and capability that cannabis

[1:17] which oftentimes we take for granted

[1:20] has in its transformational and

[1:22] transcendental capacity so i hope you

[1:25] guys enjoy this very personal and also

[1:27] illuminating conversation with ryan

[1:29] sprague

[1:33] the truth is is that we're all the

[1:34] master we're all the healer we're all

[1:37] the mystic

[1:38] give it up one time for aubry

[1:42] marcus

[1:47] [Music]

[1:49] ryan aubry here we are and i have to

[1:52] tell everybody i come from a lineage of

[1:55] podcasting which includes joe rogan in

[1:58] which the sacrament used for that

[2:01] podcasting is cannabis

[2:03] but i have not done my dutiful job at

[2:06] weaving cannabis into my podcast

[2:09] like my forefather

[2:10] mr rogan

[2:12] except for this podcast the entirety of

[2:14] my preparation was smoking your weed

[2:18] yes

[2:19] so here we are and let me say this like

[2:22] i've had experiences with cannabis

[2:24] cannabis was the first

[2:26] psychedelic

[2:28] medicine

[2:29] drug whatever you want to call it

[2:30] because at that point i don't know if

[2:31] you could even call it medicine that i

[2:33] ever tried i was like 16 i had older

[2:35] step brothers they gave me some cannabis

[2:38] it was a [ __ ] blast and it was a

[2:40] blast

[2:41] for like all the way up until college

[2:45] and then it started to stress me the

[2:47] [ __ ] out mostly and i could use it if i

[2:50] was going to pair it with yoga or going

[2:51] to pair it with breath work or going to

[2:53] pair it with something else but it had

[2:54] to be very selective a body work it was

[2:57] great anything that was like somatic

[3:00] and so i've kind of had a tenuous

[3:01] relationship with it even with you know

[3:03] when i'd go on joe's podcast he'd pass

[3:06] around the joy and i'd take a little bit

[3:08] but i was mindful because i didn't want

[3:09] to [ __ ] start thinking about the

[3:11] millions of people that were gonna be

[3:12] listening to what i was saying

[3:14] so

[3:15] then i got access to

[3:19] try some of your cannabis

[3:22] which came highly recommended from paul

[3:24] czech and from

[3:26] some other people that i trust and i got

[3:28] a chance to try it and i was like holy

[3:31] [ __ ]

[3:32] there's [ __ ] levels to the game and

[3:34] the levels aren't how many [ __ ]

[3:36] crystals of thc you can pack in a nugget

[3:40] like that is not the criteria the

[3:42] criteria is not trying to turn plant

[3:44] into shatter so that you can get so

[3:46] [ __ ] high

[3:48] like that's not the criteria for

[3:50] incredible medicinal cannabis and i've

[3:53] really felt like i've been able to

[3:55] connect to the spirit

[3:58] of santa maria like the medicinal spirit

[4:01] as my maestro my ayahuasca maestro

[4:03] hamilton saudis said the head medicine

[4:06] spirit of cannabis somehow comes through

[4:09] the strains that you're cultivating and

[4:12] for that reason alone i was like i gotta

[4:14] talk to this guy and meet him on a

[4:15] podcast you know it's so amazing to hear

[4:18] that man because for me cannabis has

[4:20] been a long journey you know and a lot

[4:22] of people ask me why cannabis right like

[4:24] why are you interested in cannabis why

[4:25] not all the other plant medicines were

[4:27] they all you know the ones i've

[4:28] experienced do incredible things but for

[4:30] me in my own personal journey you know

[4:32] we can get into this if you want to for

[4:34] me you know when i first found cannabis

[4:36] i was 16 experiencing anxiety

[4:39] and the only thing that helped was

[4:41] cannabis i tried every pharmaceutical

[4:42] known to man and with everyone that

[4:44] didn't work i kept feeling like is this

[4:46] going to be the way my life is forever

[4:49] and so when i finally found cannabis it

[4:51] actually worked and how i would describe

[4:52] it today is it connected me deeper to

[4:54] myself and it was just this great

[4:56] feeling where i was like wow i actually

[4:58] hopped into the observer point of view

[5:00] and that's not the language i would use

[5:01] them but now looking back on it i was

[5:02] able to see that i wasn't my thoughts

[5:04] and what a profound realization to have

[5:05] when you're 17 you're like you know in

[5:07] the thick of it with school and

[5:08] everything like that and of course they

[5:09] don't teach you any of this stuff i

[5:11] wonder why for you

[5:13] it allowed you to

[5:15] step outside and be the observer of your

[5:18] thoughts whereas for me and for many

[5:20] people it does the opposite it collapses

[5:22] you into the paranoia of your thoughts

[5:25] and maybe that's the [ __ ] point right

[5:27] maybe the point is like let's show you

[5:30] how miserable it is to be identified

[5:32] with your thoughts until you decide

[5:34] uh no not gonna [ __ ] do this 100 and

[5:38] one of the ways i look at cannabis as

[5:40] with any plant medicine is as it's a

[5:42] mirror right and so if it is a mirror

[5:44] then we can see that like what you what

[5:46] we're experiencing when we're

[5:48] interacting with cannabis and other

[5:49] medicines as well is not actually the

[5:51] plant giving us paranoia or giving us

[5:53] anxiety because that's an

[5:54] externalization of power but it's

[5:55] showing us what's already in there yeah

[5:57] and it's showing us what might be in the

[5:59] way of say if we made an intention to be

[6:00] happy what might be standing in the way

[6:02] of us actually being happy at the end of

[6:04] the experience but in reality i think a

[6:06] lot of people use cannabis as a means to

[6:08] an end where they're looking for the

[6:10] effect of it where in reality what i've

[6:12] found is that the real medicine that

[6:13] comes from cannabis is in what is

[6:16] shown to you what is illuminated for you

[6:18] when you're in that experience and so i

[6:20] think that big transition period for me

[6:22] of realizing that it wasn't the high i

[6:24] was looking for like most of my friends

[6:26] at that time were looking for it was

[6:27] what came through to me what was aware

[6:29] to me when i got into that experience

[6:31] that really allowed me to connect deeply

[6:33] with cannabis at that time

[6:34] and i you know i i mentioned rogan at

[6:37] the start of this but that was one of

[6:39] the things that he really appreciated

[6:41] about cannabis he's like i will eat a

[6:44] bunch of it or smoke a bunch of it and

[6:46] then

[6:47] i will go in a float tank and i will

[6:48] have to reckon with my thoughts i will

[6:51] have to wrestle with myself

[6:53] until you know and he used that as a way

[6:55] to kind of forge his own psyche and be

[6:58] able to to manage it and of course

[7:00] that's the way right the way is like put

[7:02] yourself in an uncomfortable situation

[7:05] force an adaptation or absolute misery

[7:08] whatever whatever whatever your way you

[7:10] want to go

[7:12] but to use it in that context i think is

[7:15] just an important reframe so people are

[7:17] saying like oh cannabis gives me anxiety

[7:20] great great you have anxiety anyways

[7:22] so why don't you use this to

[7:26] exaggerate it exaggerate your anxiety to

[7:29] the point that you can actually confront

[7:30] it you know bring it out of the woodwork

[7:33] so that you can deal with it yeah you

[7:34] know one of my good buddies mark england

[7:36] has a quote that says if you laugh at

[7:37] the devil he will run away and so when

[7:39] we think about anxiety or any of these

[7:41] things they can be seen as our devils

[7:43] and so when we're actually able to just

[7:44] look at them and we're actually able to

[7:46] tune into them rather than try to run

[7:47] from them or distract ourselves from

[7:48] them as i did for many years you know

[7:50] we're actually able to see like oh this

[7:52] isn't really as bad as i thought it was

[7:54] it might still be challenging but it's

[7:55] not as like you know scary as i dreamt

[7:58] it up to be because in my experience

[8:00] when i've actually looked into my shadow

[8:02] and things like that it's really like

[8:04] it's just never as bad as i thought it

[8:05] was going to be you know and i think

[8:06] that's one of the biggest realizations

[8:08] that i've found specifically with

[8:09] cannabis because the medicine i interact

[8:11] with most prevalently but it's also

[8:13] helped me with other medicines as well

[8:15] where i've been able to then go oh this

[8:16] is very similar to what i've experienced

[8:18] with cannabis and like joseph campbell

[8:19] says blisses any emotion felt all the

[8:21] way through so what i've found is even

[8:23] in anxiety even in paranoia even in

[8:25] depression i can find a bliss state

[8:27] within that if i actually just sit with

[8:29] that feeling instead of trying to run

[8:30] from it

[8:31] yeah bliss is any feeling fully felt

[8:34] i think is actually how he phrased it

[8:38] uh

[8:39] that's tough

[8:40] that's tough easier

[8:42] yeah that takes some serious

[8:45] tuning in and alchemy the ability to

[8:48] actually

[8:50] take the stimulus and then allow it

[8:53] allow yourself to feel it

[8:55] and

[8:56] and recalibrate it i think a lot of

[8:58] times the categorization of things the

[9:01] label that we put on it actually

[9:03] determines what we feel about it but if

[9:05] you really lived under that operating

[9:07] system which of course is is an

[9:10] operating system that i celebrate as

[9:12] much as i can for most

[9:14] things because that's part of the poet's

[9:16] ethos right like what is a poet a poet

[9:18] is somebody who allows himself or

[9:20] herself to feel so deeply that either

[9:24] the ecstasy or the anguish forms words

[9:27] that point back to that feeling that

[9:30] they feel if you don't feel anything

[9:32] your poetry is [ __ ] it's contrivance

[9:34] right like because the words are just

[9:36] there to point to something you feel and

[9:38] the more you feel it the more your words

[9:40] have the opportunity to point to

[9:42] something that's real and then there's

[9:45] there's the ecstasy of human experience

[9:47] whatever that thing is but

[9:49] these are higher level

[9:51] psycho technologies

[9:53] that you know we're kind of pointing to

[9:54] here absolutely and i think for me like

[9:57] when i started tuning into these things

[9:59] there were things i was feeling within

[10:00] the cannabis space that some of my

[10:02] friends just didn't seem like they were

[10:04] feeling and i always say like you know

[10:06] where most of my friends were using in

[10:07] the party atmosphere when i was 16 17 i

[10:09] would go and watch star wars right and i

[10:11] would just illuminate and think about

[10:13] things and really ask myself like what

[10:14] if any of this is actually true and in

[10:17] that i started actually facing some of

[10:18] these challenges and these demons that

[10:20] were inside of me and what i realized

[10:22] was that the ability for it to connect

[10:24] to myself was amazing in and of itself

[10:26] but when my father got diagnosed with

[10:28] cancer and i had to help him through end

[10:29] of life with cannabis and i got to watch

[10:31] him connect deeper to his grandchildren

[10:33] his other children me i get to hear

[10:35] stories from his childhood that i had

[10:36] never heard before and i got to help him

[10:39] come to terms with his own mortality

[10:41] that's where i really realized the true

[10:43] power of cannabis and how much this can

[10:44] do for the human experience doesn't mean

[10:46] it's a given right because as you were

[10:49] saying there's many different varieties

[10:51] and methods of cultivation with cannabis

[10:52] and there's so many different

[10:53] quantitative and qualitative measures

[10:56] that go into cannabis being able to work

[10:58] in this way and most of it is factory

[11:00] farm these days right so just like

[11:01] industrialized meat you're not going to

[11:03] get the same results as if you're eating

[11:04] grass-fed meat for instance and i think

[11:06] that's important important distinction

[11:07] to make too is that you know having

[11:09] worked in the industry myself i know how

[11:11] most of these plants are being grown and

[11:13] so when i was able to help my dad

[11:14] through this process with the medicine

[11:16] that we had cultivated together you know

[11:18] it was just this experience for me where

[11:19] i really started to realize like this is

[11:21] part of my purpose you know this is part

[11:23] of my dharma this is part of my path and

[11:25] so from there i realized wow there's

[11:26] really no user manual out there for

[11:28] cannabis right it's the most prevalent

[11:30] it's the most misunderstood i feel in

[11:32] many ways but there's no user manual out

[11:34] there for it no one really has got the

[11:36] user manual for how to interact with

[11:38] this plant and i think that's one of the

[11:39] biggest challenges that we face today is

[11:41] that people end up doing much more harm

[11:43] than good in most cases with cannabis

[11:45] yeah i hear all the time everybody knows

[11:48] i'm a psychedelic medicine advocate and

[11:50] it's not to say that i'm advocating for

[11:52] everybody to do it or for anybody to do

[11:53] it but they understand that i tell about

[11:55] my experiences and have told about my

[11:57] experiences for as long as i had a

[11:58] platform to talk about them and just

[12:01] tried to illuminate the benefit that

[12:02] they've had in my life

[12:04] and people will come to me and they will

[12:07] say i could never do psychedelics

[12:09] because this one time i accidentally ate

[12:11] this weed cookie

[12:13] and i got so high and it was the worst

[12:15] night of my life and i was like yeah

[12:17] like if you eat too much cannabis

[12:20] it will be the most challenging

[12:22] experience and i'll [ __ ] tell you

[12:24] i've been in all the challenging

[12:25] experiences

[12:27] ayahuasca has brought me to brutal

[12:29] places of physical and mental anguish

[12:31] iboga told me for eight hours i was the

[12:34] biggest piece of [ __ ] on the planet only

[12:36] at hour nine to be like just kidding bro

[12:40] like played the long game like i've been

[12:42] in some gnarly situations but once again

[12:46] i had a buddy who made a cookie and i

[12:48] said how strong is this cookie he's like

[12:49] ah not strong at all and it was goddamn

[12:51] delicious and i ate that thing and it

[12:53] was the worst night of my [ __ ] life

[12:54] yeah

[12:55] the worst night in my [ __ ] life out

[12:57] of all of the experiences i've had

[12:59] even when you know combo which isn't

[13:02] uh classic psychedelic but i got

[13:03] overdosed with that my i went into

[13:05] anaphylactic shock my throat swole shut

[13:08] i had a

[13:09] veterinary medicine special emergency

[13:12] medicine specialist was about to do a

[13:13] field tracheotomy on me in the middle of

[13:15] the [ __ ] bush

[13:17] that was better

[13:19] that was better than when i had too much

[13:21] weed so for anybody out there it's like

[13:24] i could never do anything like because

[13:25] of this experience

[13:27] no this can be one of the most

[13:30] challenging experiences on the planet

[13:33] just know that just because it's legal

[13:35] and everybody seems to do it doesn't

[13:37] mean that this is an easy road

[13:39] absolutely and i think the thing with

[13:40] edibles is many people don't understand

[13:42] that when you consume cannabis and it

[13:43] gets metabolized by the liver it gets

[13:46] turned into delta 9 gets turned into a

[13:47] totally different cannabinoid called 11

[13:49] hydroxy thc which is 10 times more

[13:52] powerful than intoxicating than delta 9

[13:54] thc and so so many people would come

[13:56] into the dispensary and go yeah i you

[13:58] know i smoke cannabis all the time just

[14:00] give me like a i don't know 200

[14:01] milligram edible i'm like guys

[14:04] i'm like it doesn't work like that i

[14:06] remember one time

[14:07] long before i understood these things a

[14:09] friend gave me a 250 milligram cake pop

[14:12] and i was like oh it's a little tiny top

[14:13] yeah it's like a little tiny like

[14:15] basically cake with frosting on the

[14:16] outside on a lollipop stick and i was

[14:18] like this looks amazing right and so

[14:21] there was a there was a blizzard

[14:22] happening in boston i was like what

[14:24] better time to eat a 250 milligram cake

[14:26] pop oh my god so i ate the whole thing

[14:28] and then the power went out and my

[14:30] basement floods because i have a sump

[14:31] pump down there so i had to go outside

[14:33] in the blizzard and try to start a

[14:35] generator that hadn't got started in 10

[14:36] years all while i'm like losing like

[14:38] concept of reality and i finally get

[14:41] this thing going and i screamed at the

[14:42] sky like thor because i felt like i was

[14:44] like if i can do this i can do anything

[14:47] so yes i know

[14:50] it kind of feels like one of those you

[14:53] know like tribes have these

[14:55] really powerful intense initiations

[14:58] where you like put your hand in a in a

[15:01] basket woven

[15:04] oven mitt looking glove that has bullet

[15:06] ants with the [ __ ] stingers pointing

[15:08] towards you and it's the most painful

[15:10] thing on the planet you got to hold your

[15:12] hand in there or you get buried up to

[15:14] your neck and immobilized in clay or you

[15:16] jump on a [ __ ] bungee cord made of

[15:20] i'm not recommending any of these things

[15:22] nor am i recommending what i'm about to

[15:23] say but as like an initiatory practice

[15:27] you know

[15:28] cannabis

[15:30] at high doses where you have to deal

[15:32] with yourself kind of like a vision

[15:34] quest of your own mind

[15:36] is interesting because this is a very

[15:39] squirrely and dangerous thing to do with

[15:42] most any other medicine right like

[15:45] i've there are very very strong

[15:48] cautionary tales against doing this with

[15:50] ayahuasca but doing this again with lsd

[15:54] with doing this with

[15:56] mushrooms in particular like any of

[15:58] these ones i would say like

[16:00] pretty much terrible idea to take it you

[16:03] want to do minimum effective dose for

[16:05] all of these things

[16:07] and probably that's the case with

[16:09] cannabis i'm just exploring out loud

[16:12] this idea because cannabis doesn't seem

[16:14] to open you

[16:16] too particularly to kind of

[16:19] external

[16:21] forces or traps of the mind that are new

[16:25] it's almost like it's just revealing

[16:27] what's already there it's a way to face

[16:29] off with yourself very much like the

[16:30] darkness retreat that i did

[16:32] it wasn't like i was encountering you

[16:34] know i was in the wild surfing the wild

[16:36] astral and i needed el dragon de la

[16:38] salva

[16:40] all away the [ __ ] bad energy in there

[16:42] it was just me whatever was there was

[16:43] [ __ ] me and maybe it's always me

[16:46] but and sometimes it feels like it's me

[16:48] plus let's just say that and with

[16:50] cannabis it also feels like this is me

[16:52] this is my body this is what's going on

[16:55] in me and so just gently putting out the

[16:58] possibility that that could be part of

[17:00] like an initiatory ritual absolutely i

[17:03] mean it definitely was for me you know

[17:05] might not have been planned but it ended

[17:06] up being that right and you know it's

[17:08] funny that you were talking about

[17:09] minimum effective dosing because that's

[17:11] always what i suggest with cannabis and

[17:12] with other plant medicines as well just

[17:14] because at the end of the day like these

[17:16] things can be amazing but they can also

[17:18] do a lot of harm too if you don't do

[17:19] them and don't hold them in reverence

[17:20] and don't respect them right and so like

[17:22] when i hear terence mckenna's advice

[17:24] with cannabis to just slam it which is

[17:26] what he suggests i'm like that's a

[17:28] slippery slope right and of course

[17:30] terence was a certain type of individual

[17:32] that seemed to be able to handle things

[17:34] like that yeah but i feel like also

[17:35] terence said a hero dose is five grams

[17:37] of mushrooms and that's

[17:40] i don't know that's reasonable a hundred

[17:41] percent and that's reason i mean except

[17:43] if it's like penis envy or something

[17:45] like ridiculous like that like one of

[17:46] those really strong strains and five

[17:48] grams is like

[17:49] [ __ ] buckle up son yeah i had that

[17:52] happen by accident one time

[17:54] the difference is the difference is

[17:55] enormous yeah like [ __ ] enormous

[17:58] between the strains of mushrooms so

[18:00] another random caveat like be mindful

[18:03] like one gram of penis envy is like

[18:06] three and a half at least of a normal

[18:08] strain of like golden teacher 100 i mean

[18:11] i remember when i had done this a couple

[18:13] friends and i made an 18 gram tea and

[18:15] figured oh you know we'll just split it

[18:17] it'll be about six grams each we'll be

[18:18] fine and i literally just sent a penis

[18:21] and i didn't know at this point again a

[18:22] long time ago in a galaxy far far away

[18:24] and so and so when i when the effects

[18:27] came on you know i remember i was uh

[18:29] laughing and i laughed so hard that i

[18:31] triggered this visceral response to me

[18:33] that i was choking my throat was closing

[18:34] up and i was gonna die all in like a

[18:35] nanosecond and so i really quickly like

[18:38] went to the bathroom tried to play it

[18:40] cool and i was like i'm okay and every

[18:42] time a voice would say no you're not it

[18:43] was just messing with me so i tried to

[18:45] puke couldn't puke and then after about

[18:47] five minutes i realized like wait a

[18:49] minute wouldn't my throat have already

[18:50] closed up and the second that happened i

[18:52] got the biggest cosmic giggle of like

[18:54] the mushroom entity or whatever laughing

[18:56] at me being like all right we checked

[18:58] you before you wrecked yourself now you

[18:59] can go hang out and get some fun visuals

[19:01] you know and so yeah i learned from that

[19:03] experience

[19:04] yeah yeah no doubt i mean there's so

[19:07] there's lots of reasons to be super

[19:09] mindful and careful and i think that's

[19:11] still the best advice and everything but

[19:13] i'm at least curious about

[19:16] pushing especially because with your

[19:18] cannabis i've developed such as

[19:20] feels like a such a good relationship

[19:22] with the medicine and and so

[19:25] kind of formed that sim a different like

[19:27] a more evolved relationship that i had

[19:30] when i was in high school and in some

[19:32] ways this goes to the three levels of

[19:34] consciousness right you start in the

[19:35] pre-tragic in the pre-tragic you're in

[19:37] eden everything is cool it was all funny

[19:39] every piece of food tasted great i was

[19:41] just laughing music sounded better sex

[19:44] was better everything was better it was

[19:45] like cannabis equals everything is

[19:48] better

[19:49] you know art is better doesn't matter

[19:51] everything is better then i entered the

[19:53] tragic world where it's like oh wow

[19:55] everything is worse i mean food still

[19:57] tasted better

[19:59] occasionally sex felt better but like

[20:01] otherwise and everything was kind of

[20:04] like

[20:04] confusing and difficult so that would be

[20:06] from the pre-tragic to the tragic and

[20:08] then there's the post-tragic which is

[20:10] including all of the different wisdom of

[20:12] all of that but it's almost like a

[20:13] return back to that pre-tragic state

[20:15] where everything is awesome except you

[20:17] have the wisdom of making the journey

[20:19] and it kind of feels like that's where i

[20:21] am with cannabis right now yeah i mean

[20:22] it makes perfect sense i mean i would

[20:24] say very similar for me like i went

[20:26] through that period where i was first

[20:27] getting into it where everything was

[20:28] amazing i helped my father through it it

[20:30] was incredible and then i got into the

[20:31] industry

[20:32] and when i started getting into that i

[20:34] started watching a lot of different

[20:35] people's habits with cannabis and at

[20:37] this point i was only interacting with

[20:38] it once a night so i fell into this like

[20:40] oh i'm using it in the right way right

[20:42] i'm holding in reverence i'm using it

[20:44] consciously and then it was actually

[20:46] through an mdma ceremony in las vegas

[20:48] where in the weirdest spot which i'll

[20:50] mention if you want me to but in the

[20:51] weirdest spot

[20:52] spearmint rhino uh

[20:54] dude it was actually done some mdma

[20:55] ceremony it was actually it was actually

[20:57] a strip club in las vegas

[20:59] with rachel and you know we went to this

[21:01] big cannabis convention to find our own

[21:03] investors to start our own place

[21:05] and everyone out there was just more

[21:06] worried about how much money we could

[21:07] make them and so we were kind of going

[21:09] through a mini dark night of the soul

[21:10] which is when cannabis started to not

[21:12] turn into that tragic stage for me but

[21:14] also like more started i started to feel

[21:16] a lot more of like what am i gonna do

[21:18] about this right like this is the

[21:19] industry i wanted to spend the rest of

[21:21] my life and what am i gonna do so we

[21:23] were like you know what do we do our

[21:24] last night here and she was like let's

[21:26] go to the strip club and i was like

[21:27] perfect so we took some md made we went

[21:29] to the strip club we ended up talking to

[21:31] the strippers only they were like you

[21:32] guys are weird like what's happening

[21:33] here right they actually probably love

[21:35] it yeah yeah they probably loved it yeah

[21:37] i loved it yeah and we got their life

[21:39] stories it was it was amazing you know

[21:41] and so like when we left there

[21:43] i had this moment where i was actually

[21:45] able to feel a real low because we left

[21:48] too late rachel had a big project she

[21:50] was working on and so i felt that low

[21:52] and in that moment it was bliss because

[21:53] i realized oh my god i haven't been

[21:55] feeling a lot of my feelings in a long

[21:57] time since my father passed and so on

[21:59] that plane ride home i had this five

[22:01] hour flight with a pounding migraine and

[22:03] i was just in pure bliss because i was

[22:05] realizing like oh my goodness like i was

[22:07] only experiencing a couple different

[22:08] shades of the rainbow of emotion and a

[22:11] big part of that was because i was using

[22:12] cannabis unconsciously at that point

[22:14] because what i realized was i was at

[22:16] this dispensary that was out of

[22:17] alignment for what my soul wanted

[22:19] i would get all the motivation to change

[22:21] it and then i would go home i would

[22:23] interact with cannabis i would be

[22:24] embraced with the comfort of the

[22:26] feminine and then i would go back to

[22:27] work the next day and feel the same

[22:28] thing it was a cyclical process and

[22:30] that's where that tragic stage started

[22:32] for me and then once i actually was able

[22:34] to go through this experience and get

[22:36] back to the dispensary and stop

[22:37] interacting with cannabis i only lasted

[22:39] a month there before i was like i gotta

[22:40] leave here yeah and i started highly

[22:42] optimized and you know the rest is

[22:43] history you know i saw one of the i saw

[22:46] one of the

[22:47] negative consequences of cannabis really

[22:50] early actually also in high school so i

[22:52] had a buddy who his dream

[22:56] was

[22:57] to be a musician like the black crows he

[23:00] had that was his band you know and he

[23:02] was

[23:03] he wanted that more than anything else

[23:06] and

[23:07] he was big big into cannabis and

[23:10] he would smoke

[23:11] daily and when he would smoke cannabis

[23:14] would tell him that he was gonna it was

[23:16] gonna be a rock star right

[23:18] and

[23:19] he practiced he practiced but he was she

[23:22] was shy

[23:23] and

[23:24] so he never actually took the steps to

[23:27] like actually go out form a band be a

[23:30] part of a band play the shows

[23:33] that all was like far delayed

[23:36] from actually what steps would have been

[23:38] needed to take like what he actually

[23:40] needed the motivation he needed to take

[23:42] to actually do it there was a big delta

[23:45] and so that dream never manifested now i

[23:48] get it it's [ __ ] hard to be a

[23:49] musician and maybe it wasn't in the

[23:50] cards anyways but i could see where the

[23:52] cannabis kept telling him and he'd be

[23:54] like

[23:55] you know i'm gonna be playing in front

[23:57] of tens of thousands of people brother

[23:59] and i was like awesome but like what

[24:01] about playing in front of 10 people now

[24:03] you know because i got that like i got

[24:05] if you're going to do that you got to

[24:07] start like right now

[24:09] doing this type of thing you got to get

[24:11] over your shyness you got to you can't

[24:13] just get into the magical thinking of

[24:15] smoking and then feeling it there but

[24:18] not actually taking the steps in real

[24:19] life so that was the first time i saw

[24:21] something

[24:22] where it was like

[24:23] okay all right this is potentially a way

[24:26] in which cannabis is providing relief

[24:29] for his impulse to try and be that rock

[24:32] star that he wanted to be it was it was

[24:34] kind of diverting it into this dead end

[24:36] cul-de-sac yeah you know i've seen that

[24:38] a lot as well especially when i worked

[24:41] at the dispensary and one of the things

[24:42] that i tell people is if we understand

[24:44] that cannabis is feminine medicine then

[24:46] i always use this analogy of the salsa

[24:47] dance where in a salsa dance the

[24:50] masculine role is to give direction and

[24:51] to lead the dance right and the woman's

[24:53] role is to be able to express herself

[24:54] fully but if the masculine role is not

[24:57] playing his part of the equation and not

[24:59] giving her that eye that tells her like

[25:01] you can express yourself i know where

[25:02] you're going to fall and i can catch you

[25:04] then essentially the feminine is not

[25:05] going to be able to really be at her

[25:07] full speed and the masculine is not

[25:08] going to be at his full speed either and

[25:10] so with cannabis what i always say is

[25:11] that regardless of what gender you are

[25:14] if you're entering this experience your

[25:16] side of the bargain or you're part of

[25:17] the bargain is creating an intention

[25:19] from which to give the experience a

[25:20] direction it's not the only aspect of it

[25:22] but if you understand that elementary

[25:24] aspect of just being able to give it an

[25:26] intention then just like you know your

[25:28] mother right when you were sick she

[25:29] would want to know what do you want but

[25:30] if you kind of just looked at her with a

[25:32] blank stare she'd be like all right

[25:33] you're weirdo i don't know what you want

[25:34] so i'm going to come back later right

[25:36] but if you told her hey i need this

[25:37] she'd be like okay cool i can go give

[25:38] that to you right now the challenge is

[25:40] that if someone asks say for instance to

[25:42] be happy and then they experience

[25:44] anxiety they might be like why am i

[25:46] experiencing anxiety i wanted to be

[25:47] happy so the second part is

[25:49] understanding it's a mirror and it will

[25:50] show you what's standing in the way of

[25:52] you accessing what your intention that

[25:54] you set wants to be and so like the

[25:56] third part of it is imagination medicine

[25:58] where if you understand that it can help

[26:00] you access the imagination from moving

[26:02] you into the subconscious then you're

[26:04] able to actually see that you can form

[26:05] new belief systems and these kind of

[26:07] things are possible yet they're not

[26:09] givens right like you still have to do a

[26:10] lot of work yourself in the equation to

[26:13] be able to have cannabis experience uh

[26:15] you in this way right and experience

[26:17] cannabis in that way and so this is why

[26:19] like i saw there was no guidance out

[26:21] there right for being the most popular

[26:22] plant medicine i'm like where's all the

[26:24] guidance the guidance you get a

[26:25] dispensary is you won't get cancer smoke

[26:27] it all day long every day and it's fine

[26:29] that's like literally the guidance that

[26:30] people are getting and i was working

[26:32] with everyone that you know from the age

[26:33] of 20 to the age of 80 and i was working

[26:36] with some

[26:37] elderly individuals that would come in

[26:39] and they'd get advice from other

[26:40] dispensaries to eat 100 milligram edible

[26:42] and i'm like where is this advice coming

[26:44] from right goodness and they'd say oh

[26:46] well you know they have a big

[26:48] pharmaceutical tolerance maybe they've

[26:49] already been on you know opiates or

[26:51] something like that so we're going to

[26:52] give them a higher dose and i'm like

[26:53] that doesn't translate whatsoever like

[26:56] it's just there's no guidance and so

[26:57] that's why we made connect with cannabis

[26:59] to bridge that gap because i really feel

[27:00] that cannabis can be so much more than

[27:03] what it is and i think part of it is

[27:05] just reimagining what cannabis is

[27:07] because it can be a powerful tool for

[27:08] self-development and self-awareness yet

[27:10] it's not a given it has to be worked to

[27:12] be able to be achieved in that way yeah

[27:14] it's almost like the gifts are hidden in

[27:16] plain sight yeah you know i mean i think

[27:18] it has some of the

[27:20] highest unrealized upside

[27:23] of any of any medicine that's as widely

[27:26] used as it is

[27:27] you know i mean i think

[27:30] you take mushrooms for example right not

[27:32] as widespread but more often than not

[27:35] people are actually realizing the upside

[27:37] you know where it's like you know i had

[27:39] a buddy

[27:40] really successful athlete and the first

[27:43] time i met him

[27:44] he was like let me you want to know

[27:45] about the greatest day of my life and i

[27:47] was like probably when you won that

[27:48] [ __ ] championship right like

[27:50] you know lombardi trophy big deal and uh

[27:53] and he was like

[27:55] i took mushrooms on the beach and i

[27:57] merged with the ocean it was the best

[27:59] day of my life

[28:00] you know i was like [ __ ]

[28:03] you know so and that's just it's not

[28:05] that he intended to do that but but

[28:07] mushrooms can bring you and also it can

[28:09] you can get in some dark places you can

[28:11] have some nightmarish experiences i'm

[28:12] not saying that that's not possible as

[28:14] well but more often you know more often

[28:16] than with cannabis people are realizing

[28:18] the potential because that's like

[28:20] the potential that i think psilocybin

[28:24] has right that type of experience where

[28:26] you're with your buddies you're laughing

[28:27] with them you merge with the ocean and

[28:29] realize that you and the water itself of

[28:32] the great mother are seamless

[28:34] okay nailed it you know like 10 out of

[28:37] 10. yes but cannabis is like reliably

[28:40] giving people

[28:41] 6 out of 10 5 out of 10 7 out of 10

[28:45] maybe occasionally an 8 out of 10

[28:47] but like rarely is it getting to that 10

[28:50] out of 10

[28:51] experience you know and and that could

[28:53] be many different ways it is such a

[28:55] multifaceted and

[28:58] and kind of

[28:59] interestingly complicated plant you know

[29:02] because you can use it for poetry and

[29:04] you use it for introspection you can use

[29:06] it for connection you it's there's a lot

[29:07] of different ways that you can really

[29:09] dive deep in it but uh but i feel like

[29:11] there's so much delta between what

[29:14] people are getting out of it and what

[29:15] its potential is

[29:16] this podcast like every other one

[29:19] whether i mention it or not is brought

[29:21] to you by on it alpha brain black label

[29:26] now it's brought to you by on an alpha

[29:28] brain black label one because this was

[29:30] the company that i helped create and a

[29:33] formula which i worked with some of the

[29:34] top experts in the world to build which

[29:37] has become the flagship nootropic all

[29:40] across the country and many parts of the

[29:41] world but it's also brought to you by it

[29:44] because i take it every single time i do

[29:47] a podcast

[29:48] i don't miss a podcast without taking

[29:51] black label now it used to be alpha

[29:53] brain back in the day but since black

[29:54] label came on the market it just

[29:56] provides this crystalline focus where

[29:59] i'm able to drop in really connect with

[30:02] the guests have access to information

[30:05] stories words it creates this kind of

[30:07] flow state and whether i'm writing or

[30:10] podcasting or reading taking notes

[30:13] whatever i'm doing

[30:14] alpha brain black label is my ride or

[30:17] die homie so click the link on the

[30:20] screen if you're interested in checking

[30:22] it out or go to onit.com

[30:25] aubry for 10

[30:27] off alpha brain black label and all

[30:30] other on it supplements and products

[30:36] you know i kind of view the cannabis

[30:38] spirit as shy a little bit where like it

[30:40] won't just show you itself like

[30:41] mushrooms might and just like you said

[30:43] mushrooms they might show you of many

[30:45] different varieties of experiences right

[30:47] but they're going to show you like what

[30:49] their power is much quicker than

[30:50] cannabis cannabis you almost need to

[30:52] work a little bit more with to be able

[30:54] to have that type of experience with and

[30:55] that's what i had right where cannabis

[30:57] will always almost give you the

[30:59] experience that you're asking for and so

[31:00] if you're not really aware that it can

[31:02] do these things well then it's not

[31:04] really going to show you that side of it

[31:06] but at the same time if you start asking

[31:07] questions that's why i tell people you

[31:09] know i don't say this is the right or

[31:11] wrong way to interact with cannabis

[31:13] there's no duality here it's just simply

[31:14] the way that i do it and if someone

[31:16] picks up something they want to try out

[31:18] cool

[31:18] and what i've experienced in doing the

[31:20] program and all of these things is that

[31:22] when people start going okay what if i

[31:24] live my life as if cannabis could work

[31:26] this way right and they go from that as

[31:28] if to being like okay now i had the

[31:30] direct experience now it can be more

[31:32] matter of fact where i go okay i've had

[31:33] the direct experience of cannabis

[31:35] working this way when you bridge that

[31:37] gap a whole new world can open up and

[31:39] that's been one of the coolest things

[31:40] for me because new worlds are opening up

[31:42] every single time i sit in ceremony with

[31:44] cannabis where even though i teach a

[31:46] program on it i've been doing this for

[31:47] 12 years there's constantly new things

[31:49] that are even illuminating to me and

[31:51] it's just an eternal mystery and that's

[31:53] one of my most fascinating components of

[31:54] cannabis that i love so much yeah

[31:57] there's an element of cannabis too

[32:01] that's very interesting in

[32:03] how it interacts with other medicines

[32:06] and

[32:07] i've had experiences where it interacted

[32:09] with psilocybin in a particularly

[32:13] intense way and i would not recommend it

[32:17] you know

[32:18] yes it can deepen the experience but

[32:21] it

[32:22] it created an incredibly chaotic and

[32:27] intense situation and i've seen that

[32:29] happen not just with me but with other

[32:30] people

[32:31] so like that is a pairing that i'm like

[32:34] maybe at the very end of things aft long

[32:37] after the peak

[32:39] things are chilled out like all right

[32:41] all right but like be careful

[32:44] like be super careful with that one 100

[32:47] you know

[32:48] you know it's like paul check says about

[32:49] having two wives until you learn how to

[32:51] ride one horse really well don't try

[32:54] right in two because you'll get thrown

[32:55] and ripped apart you know and that's how

[32:57] i view it as well you know i think that

[32:59] as hamilton talks about cannabis calls

[33:01] on a lot of spirits so sometimes it can

[33:03] be like too many cooks in the kitchen

[33:05] especially if you already have the

[33:06] spirit of psilocybin within you and then

[33:08] you try invoking this and you don't know

[33:10] how to call in the head spirit and do

[33:11] these types of things it can almost be

[33:13] like just in a really loud room with a

[33:14] bunch of conversations happening at once

[33:16] right and you're like which one do i

[33:17] attach on to and so i've i've definitely

[33:19] gone through those experiences too and

[33:20] what i've found is that like you were

[33:22] saying on the tail end of psilocybin

[33:24] it's fantastic right rachel and i had

[33:26] done a tea

[33:28] probably about six months ago

[33:29] where we went through the whole

[33:30] experience we meditated we listened to

[33:32] sound healing frequencies which what we

[33:34] usually do and we do a larger dose and

[33:36] at the end at about three in the morning

[33:38] i decided to interact with some of the

[33:39] strata canna and it was um i wrote i

[33:42] literally channeled into my journal like

[33:44] five pages and so much got downloaded to

[33:46] me but when i've tried it like at the

[33:48] peak of the experience it's just too

[33:50] many cooks in the kitchen right it's not

[33:52] necessarily challenging but it's just

[33:53] like i don't even know what i'm supposed

[33:55] to be paying attention to and so i feel

[33:56] like i'm missing a lot of the messages

[33:58] that could potentially be the lessons

[34:00] that i'm looking to learn in that

[34:01] experience yeah yeah for sure

[34:03] now let me go to something where i feel

[34:05] like they do

[34:07] stack together on top of each other and

[34:09] that's cannabis and ketamine

[34:12] to me

[34:12] that combination

[34:14] forms not a stack but actually a fusion

[34:18] it creates a fusion of the limitlessness

[34:21] of the mind and the somatic embodiment

[34:25] that

[34:26] cannabis can provide and it creates

[34:28] something else that the handshake is so

[34:30] complete that

[34:32] it just forms one new thing yeah and to

[34:36] me

[34:37] that is one of the

[34:38] least talked about

[34:41] like possibilities in psychedelic

[34:43] medicine

[34:44] period like i've had some of my most

[34:47] profound journeys of any journey i've

[34:49] ever been on

[34:51] utilizing that combination and in that

[34:53] combination you want the peaks to match

[34:56] like you actually and i'm not saying you

[34:58] couldn't do it another way but the magic

[34:59] happens when you get both peaks to match

[35:01] and then this is not a walking around

[35:03] the [ __ ] room type of thing

[35:07] no this is a mind fold on

[35:10] good headphones or whatever really good

[35:12] speaker

[35:13] typically john hopkins music is the best

[35:16] music for psychedelic therapy he's also

[35:18] got a bunch of other great tracks

[35:20] put on some john hopkins playlist and

[35:23] allow yourself to bring your body into

[35:26] the void so that you can interact with

[35:28] the limitlessness of the mind and the

[35:30] quantum potentiality and the information

[35:32] intelligence of

[35:34] your body and to me

[35:37] that is one of the most powerful things

[35:40] that i've experienced and it went to

[35:41] just another [ __ ] level

[35:43] when i tried it with your cannabis

[35:46] you know it's really funny man so i've

[35:48] only had one experience with something

[35:50] like ketamine and it was something like

[35:52] ketamine

[35:53] so

[35:54] so this is what i'm so excited to share

[35:56] with you so i have these buddies that

[35:58] run a certain biohacking company and

[36:00] they have this incredible product they

[36:02] make that has a ketamine analog and a

[36:04] psilocybin analog in it along with a

[36:06] couple other things too and so i've

[36:08] never done straight ketamine before but

[36:10] this experience allowed me to actually

[36:12] understand what dissociating is and i

[36:14] was like oh my goodness i've experienced

[36:16] similar things to this in other

[36:17] medicines not like this but a same same

[36:20] but different type feeling

[36:21] and interacting with cannabis on that is

[36:23] one of the best experiences ever there

[36:25] was a couple weeks ago where it was

[36:26] rachel's birthday so we went to the

[36:28] beach and we were interacting we were

[36:30] playing can jam which is one of my

[36:31] favorite games so much fun and uh we

[36:34] interacted with one of these trophies

[36:36] and then we hit some bags and it was

[36:38] just i mean i lost not lost i i gained

[36:41] so much presence that nine hours flew by

[36:44] and i didn't even think about my phone i

[36:45] didn't even think about anything else i

[36:47] was just so in the moment like a mind of

[36:49] a child and so i imagine that

[36:50] combination is absolutely incredible now

[36:52] that you've said it too yeah very

[36:54] interesting it's stunning i mean i will

[36:56] feel energy moving up and down through

[36:59] my body healing that happens at such a

[37:01] profound level like

[37:02] you know even the best reiki healing

[37:06] on the best dose of you know mushrooms

[37:08] or ayahuasca or whatever you'll feel

[37:10] some energy move and it's potent this

[37:12] feels like it's on autopilot and it's

[37:15] just happening in such a profound way

[37:16] i'm going

[37:18] i i can't believe this i can't believe i

[37:21] just cannot believe

[37:23] what is happening energetically in my

[37:24] body as well as

[37:26] you know psychologically and it doesn't

[37:28] always doesn't always i don't always

[37:29] match them up quite right sometimes you

[37:32] can match them up a little a little

[37:33] wrong where cannabis is a little too

[37:35] strong and the ketamine's not strong

[37:37] enough the ketamine's a little too

[37:38] strong

[37:39] but so you got to try and match them up

[37:41] in the right way and i think you have to

[37:43] be in the right head space and there's a

[37:44] lot of factors of course it's energetic

[37:46] medicine

[37:47] but you can get it where it's just

[37:50] you see the world in a different place i

[37:52] feel like i've upleveled my

[37:55] consciousness

[37:56] in a more significant way since

[37:58] discovering that pairing and of course i

[38:00] have you know doctor prescribed ketamine

[38:02] so i'm getting really like high quality

[38:05] and reliable amounts i'm not just like

[38:06] ripping bumps out of a [ __ ] spoon

[38:09] or a pinky nail or something like that

[38:12] but um but yeah it's been it's been

[38:13] really profound for me to explore that

[38:16] world and also it gives me a lot of hope

[38:19] because there's very i mean i feel like

[38:22] it gives access to the depth that a lot

[38:24] of these other

[38:25] you know medicines can be with limited

[38:28] limited downside and also

[38:31] legality and i don't know how many

[38:33] states is cannabis legal now god 14 yeah

[38:36] 14 to 18 somewhere in there i was just

[38:38] looking at the map it's gonna be

[38:39] universal you know pretty soon so it's

[38:41] almost fully legal to do this

[38:44] you know so it's like this is maybe one

[38:46] of the first things of course mdma is

[38:48] going to be legal in in clinical

[38:49] settings soon but it's just one of those

[38:52] things that's coming into the planet now

[38:54] at a time where the planet really needs

[38:56] it and then of course pairing the

[38:58] ketamine and cannabis with bodywork

[39:01] where and that's something that i've

[39:03] been you know i've been trained to be

[39:04] able to provide from my teacher parangi

[39:07] a very particular type of body work that

[39:09] works in the somatic body and you know

[39:11] the the subtle body as well

[39:13] and that combination is just it's really

[39:15] phenomenal it's really phenomenal to

[39:17] both receive and actually give and enter

[39:19] that space with people yeah i love that

[39:21] man and you know you're 100 right you

[39:23] know every different type of archetype

[39:24] of human being is interacting with

[39:26] cannabis from policemen to firemen to

[39:28] librarians to doctors to elderly people

[39:30] to young people i mean there's so many

[39:32] different types of people interacting

[39:34] with this medicine that i'm i i think

[39:36] the same as you this could be the

[39:37] introductory thing to people exploring

[39:40] shifting consciousness right and you

[39:42] know if we talk about astrologically the

[39:44] age of aquarius coming through and all

[39:45] these things we can see a shift

[39:47] happening

[39:48] and so i imagine that many people are

[39:49] going to start to become curious if they

[39:51] aren't already regarding these medicines

[39:53] cannabis ketamine mdma psilocybin etc

[39:56] and i've had fantastic experiences with

[39:58] all of them but the great thing about

[40:00] cannabis is that unlike a lot of other

[40:02] medicines you can do it in your living

[40:04] room if you have to right you don't need

[40:06] to necessarily take a trip you don't

[40:08] need to necessarily have a facilitator

[40:10] although i do recommend it especially if

[40:11] you're new to it but it's it's really

[40:13] like the people's plant in a lot of ways

[40:15] right because you could i'm not saying

[40:17] you should right and i don't do it but

[40:19] you could drive a car you could

[40:21] technically do your daily tasks on these

[40:23] types of things where like how many

[40:24] people do you know that eat a gram of

[40:25] mushrooms to fold their laundry right or

[40:27] do the laundry probably not a lot but

[40:29] regularly people will be like oh i'm

[40:30] going to interact with cannabis to be

[40:32] able to do laundry to be able to do this

[40:33] do that etc and the funny thing is that

[40:36] i was in a recent cannabis experience

[40:38] where i was going to interact with it

[40:40] and i had this laundry i wanted to fold

[40:42] and so i was like okay i'm going to fold

[40:43] the laundry first and then i got this

[40:44] download and i was like i wonder what

[40:46] would happen because usually folding

[40:47] laundry is something i just get

[40:48] frustrated about i was like i wonder

[40:50] if i interacted with cannabis before i

[40:52] folded my laundry i just hang everything

[40:54] up yeah i'm so bad i don't blame you

[40:56] like

[40:57] whatever like [ __ ] workout shorts i'm

[40:59] like [ __ ] it just hanging

[41:02] and it's funny man because like you know

[41:04] when i interact with cannabis this time

[41:06] as an experiment i was like what will

[41:07] happen why am i getting called to do

[41:08] this

[41:09] what i realized was that like we were

[41:11] talking about a little bit earlier it

[41:12] was the story i had upon what folding my

[41:15] laundry meant originally it was

[41:16] something i just had to do because i

[41:18] just had to do it and when i interacted

[41:20] with cannabis i was present and i was

[41:22] doing it and i was like wow this is

[41:23] really an act of self-love because i

[41:25] know that when i wake up and all my

[41:26] laundry is put away and i have an

[41:28] ergonomic space that's clean and feels

[41:29] conducive to me working in and things

[41:31] like that that i love myself a little

[41:33] bit more and so i started to be like wow

[41:36] cannabis i find to be one of the only

[41:38] medicines that can connect us to the

[41:39] most mundane tasks of our life yeah turn

[41:41] it into the zen yeah the zen of folding

[41:44] laundry the zen of doing dishes yeah

[41:46] because like it's one thing it's great

[41:47] to be connected and feel amazing when

[41:49] you're hanging with friends or you're

[41:50] having a group dinner or you're on a

[41:52] medicine ceremony but what happens on

[41:54] all the mundane aspects of our life

[41:56] taking out trash folding laundry etc if

[41:58] we can connect to those components of

[42:00] our life well then we increase the

[42:01] ability of us to connect deeper to our

[42:03] lives because how you do anything is how

[42:05] you do everything so if you learn how to

[42:06] connect deeper to yourself folding

[42:07] laundry then guess how much better you

[42:09] might be at being able to connect more

[42:11] with other people connect more with the

[42:12] work you're doing connect with your

[42:14] clients it's fantastic so those are like

[42:16] the eternal mysteries like i said

[42:17] they're always coming out for me and i'm

[42:19] just an eternal student yeah yeah no

[42:21] doubt let's give people a

[42:22] troubleshooting guide let's say you

[42:23] smoke some cannabis eat some cannabis

[42:25] you start feeling that creeping anxiety

[42:27] that constriction in your chest your

[42:29] head starts creeping out to all of these

[42:31] potential timelines where you've

[42:33] projected a version of yourself in the

[42:34] future and that future self is suffering

[42:36] some terrible calamity and the world is

[42:39] closing in and you find yourself in one

[42:40] of these positions what's your advice

[42:43] for how to bring people back to center

[42:45] and start to quiet these because

[42:47] one of the challenges is alongside those

[42:50] you have hormones that are actually in

[42:51] your body cortisol is being released

[42:53] adrenaline noradrenaline all of these

[42:55] different things are happening and they

[42:57] actually

[42:58] take a while to settle down to flush out

[43:00] of the bloodstream again so you're gonna

[43:03] have to really focus on something i

[43:05] imagine so but what's your advice the

[43:07] breath the first thing is the breath

[43:09] come back to your breath and just start

[43:11] noticing right are you up regulated are

[43:12] you breathing up into your lungs are you

[43:14] down in your diaphragm where are you

[43:15] breathing and how are you breathing and

[43:17] what i always say for most people is do

[43:18] a down regulatory breath work style like

[43:20] box breathing it's easy you can just do

[43:22] an account in for four hold for four

[43:24] breathe out for four and if you want to

[43:25] hold the breath out for four at the end

[43:27] you can do that too and then the second

[43:29] thing is a mantra that i use for any

[43:32] medicine when i'm having a challenge

[43:33] which is i took a medicine and the

[43:34] medicine is working right because a lot

[43:36] of times i forget that like hey i was

[43:39] totally willing to experience a

[43:40] challenge before i got in on this but

[43:42] now that i'm experiencing it's very

[43:43] similar in ice bath right you're like

[43:45] yeah let's do an ice bath and you get in

[43:46] there in the first 10 seconds you're

[43:48] like why am i in here why am i even

[43:49] doing this right and so remember

[43:51] reminding yourself like okay i took a

[43:53] medicine and the medicine is working the

[43:54] exact way it needs to work sometimes we

[43:57] start shooting all over ourselves right

[43:59] this shouldn't be happening something

[44:00] else should be happening and so

[44:02] reminding ourselves that hey this is

[44:04] exactly what we're looking for and

[44:05] exactly what we asked for even if it

[44:07] might not be exactly what we thought it

[44:08] might be

[44:09] getting ourselves to realize that we are

[44:11] in control of how we perceive the

[44:12] experience and then the third step is

[44:15] just realizing that whatever you're

[44:16] experiencing is simply sensations that

[44:19] you might have a story on no it's not

[44:20] necessarily easy to be like oh it's just

[44:22] a story i'll just top my way out of it

[44:24] but these things is you start repeating

[44:26] them to yourself getting into the breath

[44:28] being able to connect with that mantra

[44:29] and then being able to tell yourself

[44:31] like okay

[44:32] this anxiety i might be feeling or this

[44:34] paranoia what is the sensation let's

[44:36] leave the story behind of what i know

[44:38] anxiety to be or what i know paranoia to

[44:39] be and let me connect with these

[44:41] feelings because when you can actually

[44:43] connect with the feeling and just go

[44:44] okay i want to look at you objectively

[44:46] right i want to leave the story behind

[44:47] and just tune into this uncomfortable

[44:49] feeling i'm feeling a lot of times it

[44:51] will dissipate because emotions only

[44:53] last so long right and it might take a

[44:55] while or it might not be five minutes it

[44:57] might be the full experience but

[44:58] eventually you will feel it subside at

[45:00] least in my experience and with the

[45:01] clients i've worked on and so that

[45:03] three-step process really helps me a lot

[45:04] you know connecting to the breath

[45:06] repeating either that mantra or one

[45:07] that's kind of the same type of idea and

[45:09] then being able to tune into the

[45:11] sensations in your body without

[45:13] necessarily the story that you might

[45:14] have around oh my god the last time i

[45:16] interacted with cannabis and this

[45:18] happened what happened you know or it

[45:19] was the worst experience of my life like

[45:21] in you know your case with the edible

[45:22] right like if you had a similar

[45:24] experience trying to disconnect yourself

[45:26] from the memory of that past experience

[45:29] and going this is a new experience i'm

[45:31] going to treat it as such that's really

[45:33] helped me yeah

[45:34] one other technique that i've found to

[45:36] be helpful in certain situations is

[45:38] sometimes getting into the body

[45:41] because sometimes energy is just

[45:42] building and it needs to be expressed in

[45:46] some way so

[45:47] if you can actually and it's sometimes

[45:49] the last thing you want to do but if you

[45:50] can like dance you know put on some

[45:53] music and get yourself and the first

[45:55] little bit is usually going to be tough

[45:56] so i'll actually try to do some more

[45:59] like

[46:00] acrobatic you know kind of uh

[46:02] calisthenically

[46:04] focused dancing where it's like squat

[46:06] dancing you know where i'm like

[46:08] really actually because i've never

[46:10] been in this uncomfortable psychedelic

[46:12] experience where i broke a sweat and it

[46:14] was still uncomfortable

[46:16] right so like once you're in your body

[46:18] and moving it that way

[46:20] typically that will break whatever

[46:22] different kind of spell you're in at

[46:25] that point so that's just another

[46:27] technique that i think can be effective

[46:30] to apply it takes definitely some work

[46:32] but the moment that you start to break a

[46:34] sweat

[46:35] typically the experience is going to be

[46:37] like okay all right i'm good here and

[46:40] it's funny you say that because where

[46:41] attention goes energy flows right so if

[46:43] you start focusing on something else

[46:44] well your attention's dramatically going

[46:46] to leave what you're focusing on at that

[46:48] point and start entering the new place

[46:50] and you mentioned you know athletics and

[46:52] things like that and you know i was at a

[46:54] shindig one time with leo savage and he

[46:56] was sprinting like just absolutely

[46:58] sprinting and i asked him about it and

[46:59] he was like yeah that's what i do when i

[47:01] start feeling things come on that might

[47:02] be a little challenging is i just start

[47:04] sprinting and so here he is running

[47:06] around the house at full speed it was it

[47:08] was a pretty funny sight to be seen i'm

[47:10] surprised he doesn't grab his mace i

[47:12] know i should grab the mace after you

[47:14] know

[47:15] yeah leo savage is a steel mace wizard

[47:18] who uh who works out on it he's amazing

[47:20] um

[47:21] yeah and that's and that's a really good

[47:23] if you're at a festival or something

[47:24] like that like

[47:26] that's a really good before you check

[47:28] into the zendot try to at least like

[47:30] first break a sweat definitely like get

[47:32] in there get a sweat going and and

[47:35] that'll really help yeah you know it's

[47:37] funny you mentioned festivals because

[47:39] one of my most challenging experiences

[47:41] with cannabis that i don't think i've

[47:42] ever told before was at electric forest

[47:44] where we got there and i had all this

[47:46] neck tension it was right after my

[47:48] father passed away and just like really

[47:49] soon after he passed away i woke up one

[47:51] day and i just had this insane amount of

[47:53] neck tension and for some reason i was

[47:56] putting all of my focus around this neck

[47:58] tension

[47:59] and so for 16 hours for the drive there

[48:02] i was looking up individual muscles in

[48:04] my neck and trying to figure out which

[48:06] ones were tight yeah 0 out of 10 would

[48:08] not recommend doing that because one of

[48:10] the time i got there i was so

[48:11] upregulated and then i decided we were

[48:13] walking around the campground i was like

[48:15] oh let me smoke a joint

[48:16] and immediately i started feeling

[48:18] something strange happened where it

[48:20] seemed like dissociating a little bit

[48:22] where i was walking around but i just

[48:23] didn't feel like i was fully me i didn't

[48:25] feel like i was fully centered inside of

[48:26] me

[48:27] and so i continue smoking this joint

[48:29] and we get back to our camp and

[48:32] we sat inside of our gazebo and i

[48:35] started like feeling short of breath and

[48:37] so i look at one of my friends and i was

[48:39] like man i feel like i'm going to die

[48:40] and he was like yeah me too and then

[48:41] just goes back to talking right and so

[48:43] like he didn't like you know because

[48:44] again it's like i just said it he didn't

[48:46] know anything that was going on so i'm

[48:48] like well that was my one shot right so

[48:50] i'm like sitting there and every breath

[48:52] i take is only one memento yeah exactly

[48:54] exactly he's like yeah man props you

[48:56] know and i'm just like dude no like i'm

[48:58] really serious but like i had lost

[49:00] really

[49:03] and so like that was my last like the

[49:05] last words i could utter and so

[49:07] basically i went into a full-blown panic

[49:08] attack and so i kind of like stumbled

[49:11] into my tent and just it took me a

[49:12] little while to get my breath but what

[49:14] cannabis showed me and that was like hey

[49:16] this is the opportunity for you to be

[49:18] more self-aware before you dive in with

[49:20] me right just because you might be used

[49:22] to me and at that point i was

[49:23] interacting with it daily you know

[49:25] doesn't mean that i can't potentially

[49:27] show you something within you that might

[49:29] scare you right that might not be the

[49:30] thing you want to experience in a group

[49:32] of people at a music festival right so i

[49:34] think that like the music festival thing

[49:35] is a big thing that i love talking about

[49:37] because you know no judgment but i see

[49:39] some very interesting life decisions

[49:40] being made at music festivals you know

[49:42] sure sure and also like what you think

[49:45] you'll feel like oh i'm not really

[49:48] feeling that much but when you got

[49:50] [ __ ] waves of bass hitting you and

[49:53] lights flashing like you don't know what

[49:55] the [ __ ] you're feeling she has so much

[49:57] stimulus yeah that then when you go move

[50:00] on or if it's burning man you're on your

[50:01] bike and you're in the middle of the the

[50:03] dark playa and you're like

[50:05] oh [ __ ]

[50:07] the good thing about burning man is

[50:08] you're on a bike though so like that

[50:09] actual kinetic movement of your legs

[50:12] actually helps you yeah you know because

[50:14] then you're like that can get your like

[50:16] sweat going that can get your muscles

[50:18] pumping which typically helps another

[50:21] less intense because i feel that too if

[50:23] i have tension somewhere i mean i will

[50:25] just make love to a lacrosse ball on my

[50:27] back for like hours and it'll be like i

[50:30] feel like the most productive thing i've

[50:32] ever done in my life my number one

[50:33] travel tool yeah for sure so that's

[50:35] that's definitely there and the other

[50:38] thing i've i've noticed is

[50:40] if i haven't brushed my teeth

[50:42] i'll get so aware like god damn my teeth

[50:45] are [ __ ] filthy they're mad at me

[50:48] like jesus does anybody have a

[50:50] toothbrush

[50:52] that's willing to borrow anybody's

[50:53] toothbrush please

[50:55] i won't ask questions yeah

[50:57] yeah so it highlights a lot of things

[51:00] that are there that we don't notice some

[51:02] mild irritant will then become like a

[51:05] very large irritant

[51:07] yeah it's it's really fascinating and i

[51:08] think this is once again like the um the

[51:11] opportunity for people to understand

[51:13] more about these medicines because you

[51:15] know set and setting is huge right it's

[51:16] this thing that a lot of people know

[51:18] they can say yes set and setting is

[51:19] important but until you've realized it

[51:21] because knowing and realizing i think

[51:22] are two totally different things where

[51:24] knowing is a you know a summation of

[51:26] what information and education you have

[51:28] around something realization is when you

[51:30] actually have the direct experience

[51:31] yourself and i think in today's world

[51:33] there's a lot of knowledge but not

[51:34] enough applied knowledge and therefore

[51:36] direct experience and so like when you

[51:38] actually have the direct experience like

[51:39] we were talking about about set and

[51:40] setting actually like oh

[51:42] this is why that matters i think that

[51:44] really helps a lot and being able to

[51:45] give people that direct experience in

[51:46] their own household at first where they

[51:48] can experience different sides of

[51:50] cannabis or other plant medicines as

[51:52] well then they have more information

[51:53] moving forward when they go to a music

[51:55] festival to be able to use the sermon

[51:56] and saying i don't think right now is

[51:58] the right time you know and i think that

[52:00] that's for so many people what they

[52:01] don't think they're like oh all of my

[52:03] friends are having a great time i trust

[52:05] these people you know i don't think

[52:06] they're peer pressuring them in most

[52:08] cases like peer pressure was said in the

[52:09] dare program and things like that but

[52:11] you know they're like oh all my friends

[52:13] are having a good time why wouldn't i

[52:14] have a good time but they might like me

[52:16] in that situation have not really

[52:17] checked in and going i'm really

[52:19] upregulated right now and i'm really

[52:20] focused on some challenges within my

[52:22] physical body and i'm making those

[52:24] things into a story that it's really bad

[52:26] and so if i interact with say cannabis

[52:28] right now this could be an ordeal

[52:30] instead of an experience right that's a

[52:32] translation that you know we don't want

[52:34] to necessarily have to have but if we do

[52:36] have an ordeal instead of an experience

[52:38] we want to have the right set and

[52:39] setting in which to contain that yep

[52:41] one of the other challenges too is the

[52:44] measurement of dose so like

[52:47] so people people who are very cannabis

[52:49] familiar will you know they'll have a

[52:51] joint or a blunt and they'll just

[52:53] [ __ ] smoke that thing like and

[52:55] they'll watch me and they look really

[52:57] cool when they do it and i look like a

[52:58] robot you know like i pull it into my

[53:00] mouth like i would a cigar so i know

[53:02] it's just one mouthful of of of smoke

[53:06] and then i'll let it cool down a little

[53:08] bit in my mouth before i actually inhale

[53:11] and then i'll breathe in a full inhale

[53:13] of all that cool air so i'm not roasting

[53:15] my lungs and coughing a bunch but i'll

[53:17] do it in this very kind of mechanistic

[53:19] way and definitely all of the cannabis

[53:22] familiar people will be like what a dork

[53:25] and i'm like i get it i get it no i'm

[53:27] not i'm not the cool guy blowing this

[53:30] out of my nose blowing it half out

[53:31] sucking it back in

[53:33] [ __ ] no i'm not gandalf the weed

[53:35] smoker here i'm sorry everybody you know

[53:38] but i'll just be very measured with it

[53:39] and i think

[53:40] that was you know i don't know if people

[53:42] still do this it seems like it's gone

[53:44] out of favor but back you know

[53:46] in college and stuff like bongs were big

[53:50] you just

[53:51] have this whole tube of of smoke and you

[53:54] suck the whole thing down and clear it

[53:55] and it's like [ __ ] terrible idea i

[53:58] don't know how much how much is that how

[53:59] about what do you know it's brutal and

[54:01] also at the same time i've never seen

[54:03] people hit the floor uh quicker than

[54:06] when they're hitting bongs right

[54:07] especially gravity bongs remember people

[54:09] making those things in bathtubs back in

[54:10] the day with like you know a two liter

[54:12] bottle or whatever where they're

[54:13] essentially like sucking it down and

[54:15] they're taking this gigantic hit and

[54:17] like at the end of the day like that's

[54:18] also stressing your lungs it's stressing

[54:20] your throat and like you know it's

[54:22] cannabis will have a sympathetic brian's

[54:24] laughing he must have done this guilty

[54:26] in charge

[54:28] before guilty

[54:29] i tried it so other people don't have to

[54:31] you know and it's like so many people do

[54:33] this the same thing with concentrates

[54:34] too you know i was in las vegas

[54:37] and you know i was very used to

[54:39] interacting with concentrates at that

[54:40] point in my life because i was in the

[54:41] industry and i was interacting with hash

[54:43] all the time

[54:44] but i went to this dab bar and for some

[54:46] reason i don't know what i was doing but

[54:48] i decided to pick two sativa dabs right

[54:51] so i did these dabs and i literally

[54:53] didn't feel like i had legs anymore and

[54:54] so i didn't know at any point like i'm

[54:56] standing around all these people i'm

[54:57] like am i just going to hit the floor

[54:58] because like i knew i wasn't like so

[55:00] high that i thought i was going to hit

[55:02] the floor because i was out of control

[55:03] but i could not feel my legs and so i

[55:05] was like how do i know if my knees are

[55:06] going to buckle and so those kind of

[55:08] things are just like things that now i

[55:10] only use the volcano because for me i'm

[55:12] not looking once again now to get as

[55:14] high as possible i'm looking to get just

[55:16] beyond the threshold of normal

[55:17] consciousness so i can start to see

[55:19] what's just out of the way of me that

[55:21] then i can pick up the message for

[55:23] because when you integrate which i

[55:25] really think is not an optional thing if

[55:26] you want to interact with these

[55:28] substances as a medicine right which

[55:30] there's no judgment you can use them

[55:31] however you want but if you want them to

[55:32] be able to act as a teacher of medicine

[55:34] then you need to integrate that's where

[55:36] the real work is and so now

[55:38] because i've been able to integrate and

[55:40] actually like take the action like you

[55:41] were saying with your buddy who was the

[55:43] musician right like it's not just about

[55:44] praying right it's about praying and

[55:46] moving your feet as paul says right and

[55:48] so

[55:48] being able to do both of those where now

[55:50] i come out of the experience and i go

[55:52] okay the next week i'm going to be sober

[55:53] and i'm going to integrate this because

[55:54] that's how i interact with cannabis i

[55:56] only use it on weekends and that's

[55:57] specifically because what i've found is

[55:59] that with my pattern i've run in the

[56:01] past with unconscious use that's just

[56:03] what works for me and so for people

[56:04] listening i don't know if there's a

[56:06] right and wrong way to interact with

[56:08] cannabis or right or wrong amount this

[56:09] is just my personal way of doing it and

[56:11] it's also the way that hamilton suther

[56:12] and other shamans that work with this

[56:14] medicine speak about interacting with it

[56:16] they do that to preserve the

[56:17] transcendental and spiritual properties

[56:18] of it which is now my main intention

[56:20] with it so that's why i'm only

[56:22] interacting with it twice per week but

[56:23] now that i've been able to integrate and

[56:25] actually take the lessons and messages

[56:26] that cannabis is showing me and actually

[56:28] apply them to my life i don't need as

[56:30] much cannabis because my life is

[56:32] becoming a psychedelic experience right

[56:33] i'm not literally tripping and fractals

[56:35] are coming up but i'm experiencing the

[56:37] magic within these experiences and i

[56:38] imagine you've had the same thing right

[56:39] like sure that's the real beauty of what

[56:41] these medicines do is show you what's

[56:43] already possible in your life and that's

[56:45] i think why so many people get dependent

[56:47] on cannabis specifically because there's

[56:49] no guidance but also they're living in

[56:51] discomfort of some sort or they're

[56:52] curious

[56:54] they experience this new experience they

[56:55] go that felt better than my normal

[56:57] experience well what do i do to feel

[56:59] that all the time must need more of it

[57:01] and they miss the step of like no the

[57:02] real message of this plan like terence

[57:04] mckenna said is to get the message and

[57:06] hang up the phone for a little while and

[57:08] assimilate that and integrate it so then

[57:10] your life can start resembling the magic

[57:12] of these experiences yeah for sure

[57:14] yeah i remember you know for a while

[57:18] i had a buddy who was just again one of

[57:20] those like could not possibly have

[57:23] enough cannabis so he went from you know

[57:25] smoking joints to then smoking dabs to

[57:28] whatever glass and shatter and hash and

[57:30] all of this and he would he was so

[57:33] irresponsible with it and he would be

[57:35] doing it and whether he was encouraging

[57:37] it or other people were just seeing what

[57:38] he was doing

[57:39] they would try to do what he did

[57:41] and he could literally kill an entire

[57:44] after party

[57:46] all of the sudden everybody was dancing

[57:48] and having a good time and we're just

[57:50] all having a blast and then people are

[57:52] [ __ ] dropping like flies and i'm like

[57:54] bro stop

[57:56] just [ __ ] stop like we were having so

[57:58] much fun before you came in here with

[58:00] your [ __ ] super glass concentrate

[58:03] shatter hash like [ __ ] stop yeah like

[58:06] no

[58:07] you know and eventually just was like

[58:09] stopped inviting him like no done you're

[58:11] done you're not invited it's such a

[58:13] thing man you know where like i

[58:15] experienced a lot of the same things

[58:17] where at parties people are looking to

[58:18] smoke joints right off the bat and i'm

[58:20] like guys again no judgment just curious

[58:22] observation like what is your intention

[58:24] for this party do you want to be on the

[58:25] couch the whole time like it's one thing

[58:27] if you're going to interact with nitrous

[58:29] or something you're going to be on a

[58:30] couch but like cannabis is just going to

[58:31] put you on the couch because it's very

[58:32] relaxing in most cases right yes

[58:35] also it's gonna be about matt two

[58:36] minutes yeah and then you're gonna

[58:38] [ __ ] pop out yeah you know like well

[58:40] that was wild and i'm not just not

[58:42] saying to endorse nitrous for whatever

[58:44] reason but it's limited yeah it's not a

[58:46] party ender yeah cannabis is an end game

[58:51] you know it's it's powerful man like and

[58:53] i think a lot of people because they use

[58:55] it so frequently you know this is again

[58:57] the second setting thing this happened

[58:58] to me where i was interacting with it

[58:59] daily i was like oh i know this plant

[59:01] right i know it but i didn't know

[59:03] anything at that point because i didn't

[59:04] really know myself and as within so

[59:05] without right the hematic principles and

[59:07] lower correspondence if i don't really

[59:08] know who i am then how much am i going

[59:10] to be able to understand how who anyone

[59:12] is or any plant is or anything and i

[59:14] think that's where a lot of people get

[59:15] in trouble and it's the you know the

[59:16] thing with the hash too is it's so funny

[59:18] you know i see people that you know it's

[59:21] real there's no difference between how

[59:23] you interact with cannabis and alcohol

[59:24] tobacco etc like i think a lot of people

[59:27] especially in the industry glorify like

[59:29] oh i'm smoking all day and doing all

[59:30] these things i'm like guys you're

[59:31] numbing something out like in most cases

[59:33] like unless you're extremely experienced

[59:35] and i have met some individuals that

[59:37] have an extremely positive relationship

[59:39] with cannabis and use it frequently but

[59:41] in most cases these people are numbing

[59:43] things out and i know that from working

[59:44] with over 5000 of them that when i get a

[59:47] little bit under the surface and i'm

[59:48] like how are you doing they're like good

[59:49] and i'm like how are you really doing

[59:51] they're like shitty you know and i'm

[59:52] like okay so what's really going on here

[59:54] and i think that's another big

[59:55] distinction that i really want to bring

[59:57] to the surface with cannabis is that

[59:58] listen just because you know you might

[1:00:00] not get psycho i mean physically

[1:00:02] addicted to it there are opportunities

[1:00:04] for you to come to become dependent on

[1:00:05] this medicine yeah and it's because if

[1:00:07] you're living in discomfort and then

[1:00:09] you're interacting with a feminine

[1:00:10] medicine that can provide feelings of

[1:00:11] comfort and you continue externalizing

[1:00:13] your power onto that it's the same thing

[1:00:15] as being addicted to your mother right

[1:00:17] and being able to being afraid to leave

[1:00:18] the nest or any of these things yeah or

[1:00:20] you know coming home after a long day

[1:00:21] and having drinks right to forget about

[1:00:23] your day it's really the energy behind

[1:00:25] how you're doing it that makes it the

[1:00:26] relationship it is yeah absolutely

[1:00:29] so how do you do it how do you cultivate

[1:00:32] cannabis at the level that you're

[1:00:34] cultivating it because it seems magic

[1:00:36] what you're doing somehow your

[1:00:37] relationship with the spirit of cannabis

[1:00:40] that translates down to everything from

[1:00:43] the soil to the cultivation has to be

[1:00:45] significantly different than other

[1:00:48] ways in which people are doing it so

[1:00:50] what is what is the differentiation for

[1:00:52] what you do versus what is standard

[1:00:55] yeah i loved exploring this question

[1:00:56] because it's really i can break it down

[1:00:58] into uh quantifiable and qualitative

[1:01:00] measures and so

[1:01:01] with the more quantifiable side what i'm

[1:01:03] doing is i'm mixing my own soils so i'm

[1:01:05] getting everything organic omri listed

[1:01:08] and i'm i'm working with different

[1:01:10] amendments that are creating a specific

[1:01:14] base soil mix and then adding certain

[1:01:16] things into it to create a really

[1:01:18] healthy microbial community and then

[1:01:20] from there what i'm doing is i'm

[1:01:21] applying mulch layers and things that

[1:01:23] really mimic the forest floor and this

[1:01:25] is like regenerative agriculture no-till

[1:01:27] gardening these are terms that i use a

[1:01:29] lot and the other thing i'm adding is

[1:01:31] korean natural farming which you haven't

[1:01:33] dive in to dove into this yet it's

[1:01:34] fascinating it's essentially taking

[1:01:36] nature and making ferments out of it and

[1:01:38] the cornerstone of it is something

[1:01:40] called imo which stands for indigenous

[1:01:42] microorganisms and the analogy i use for

[1:01:44] this is it's really synonymous with stem

[1:01:46] cells but with nature so with stem cells

[1:01:49] they're taking them out of your hip

[1:01:50] they're applying them in a different

[1:01:51] area of your body with imo

[1:01:53] when you look into microbial supplements

[1:01:55] you can buy for plants right because you

[1:01:57] can buy max microbe mammoth p all of

[1:01:59] these things that can inoculate your

[1:02:01] soil with more microbes but the

[1:02:02] challenge is that those microbes are

[1:02:04] cultivated at a certain altitude in a

[1:02:06] certain place and so if say if you're in

[1:02:08] boston and you're getting microbes that

[1:02:10] were cultivated in california well a lot

[1:02:12] of them are going to die off and so a

[1:02:13] lot of times it's just a waste of money

[1:02:15] and effective when you're doing imo

[1:02:17] you're actually taking a small wooden

[1:02:19] box you're putting al dente rice into it

[1:02:22] you're putting a screen over the top

[1:02:23] you're putting it into nature at some

[1:02:25] place usually like a fallen tree where

[1:02:27] there's a lot of fungal activity and you

[1:02:29] can see this because when you dig down

[1:02:30] just a little bit in the soil you should

[1:02:32] be able to start finding these little

[1:02:33] white hyphae which are like little

[1:02:35] strands of fungus and so when you see

[1:02:37] that you're nestling the box into there

[1:02:39] and you're leaving it there for usually

[1:02:41] you know a week or two depending on the

[1:02:42] time of year and usually you put a

[1:02:44] couple different ones out when you go

[1:02:45] back hopefully that that hyphae is

[1:02:48] colonized that rice and so you'll have

[1:02:50] this white substance on there this this

[1:02:52] really mycelium and so

[1:02:54] what you're doing from there is then

[1:02:55] you're through a process of five steps

[1:02:58] you're taking that's im01 you're turning

[1:03:00] into imo 2 where you can buy them with

[1:03:01] brown sugar and then you're going

[1:03:03] through this process where you're

[1:03:04] combining it with compost and soil and

[1:03:06] actually grain first then compost and

[1:03:08] soil and so when you do that you're

[1:03:10] breeding these microbes that are

[1:03:12] indigenous to your area and then you

[1:03:14] take that and you apply it to your

[1:03:15] garden and so what you're doing is

[1:03:17] you're taking the stem cells that you

[1:03:18] just cultivated applying it to your

[1:03:20] garden and everything gets boosted

[1:03:22] because these microbes are what actually

[1:03:24] break down nutrients in the soil and

[1:03:26] make them and turn them from insoluble

[1:03:27] into soluble nutrients so the cool thing

[1:03:30] about organic growing as a composed with

[1:03:32] chemical salt growing is that with

[1:03:34] chemical salts essentially the belief

[1:03:35] system there is that we can figure out

[1:03:38] nature right it's not that hard we can

[1:03:39] figure it out good luck yeah exactly

[1:03:41] good luck and what we know about you

[1:03:43] know cannabis and other plants is that

[1:03:45] their root systems you know they're

[1:03:47] asking for different nutrients at like

[1:03:49] microsecond different levels where they

[1:03:51] might want calcium and the magnesium

[1:03:52] within a fraction of a second

[1:03:54] and it's really cool how the roots work

[1:03:56] because they're putting out these this

[1:03:58] exudate which is like this like sugary

[1:04:00] substance and essentially the microbes

[1:04:02] are coming to them and being like we

[1:04:03] want some of your exudation they're like

[1:04:04] well go get us calcium or magnesium or

[1:04:06] nitrogen or whatever and so it's kind of

[1:04:08] this flirting game right they're doing

[1:04:10] but at the end of the day if you're

[1:04:11] saying like oh with cannabis like yeah

[1:04:13] if you're in vegetative state you're

[1:04:14] just going to apply you know a nitrogen

[1:04:16] fertilizer and then in you know flour

[1:04:18] you're going to do potassium and

[1:04:19] phosphorus right well that's part of the

[1:04:21] equation right you can add a

[1:04:22] micronutrients but how do you know what

[1:04:24] that plant might have wanted that it's

[1:04:25] missing out on so when you give it an

[1:04:28] organic setup you're giving it a buffet

[1:04:29] and you're allowing it to just pick what

[1:04:31] it wants and so it allows the plant to

[1:04:33] be much more conducive to being able to

[1:04:35] be like okay i have what i need and what

[1:04:37] i imagine is that there's a safety there

[1:04:39] with the plant because plants are

[1:04:40] sentient right like if they have what

[1:04:41] they need they're going to be able to

[1:04:43] express themselves more like the salsa

[1:04:44] dance analogy once again and then the

[1:04:46] final step that i'm throwing in there

[1:04:48] is biogeometry and i don't know of any

[1:04:50] other cannabis grower that's doing this

[1:04:52] i know of one hemp farmer in sweden i

[1:04:54] learned it through biogeometry and i

[1:04:55] took the foundations course of course

[1:04:57] they didn't know what i did with

[1:04:58] cannabis and everything but

[1:05:00] you know they mentioned oh yeah and

[1:05:01] there's this hemp farmer in sweden and

[1:05:03] i'm like perking up i'm like what are

[1:05:05] they about to talk about and they're

[1:05:06] like yeah he's taking this certain shape

[1:05:08] putting around his stocks and his yields

[1:05:09] are tripling and i'm like can you repeat

[1:05:11] that right and so immediately i was like

[1:05:13] i'm gonna try that out

[1:05:14] and so i applied these different uh bio

[1:05:17] geometry techniques to my room and what

[1:05:19] i realized was not only did my yield

[1:05:21] increase but the quality was

[1:05:22] unbelievable and it felt as though

[1:05:25] when i when i put biogeometry in my

[1:05:27] house just in general it felt like i

[1:05:28] could take a sigh of relief and so i'm

[1:05:30] imagining

[1:05:31] that the plants can do so as well

[1:05:32] because just like humans with our

[1:05:34] biofield we have interference with emfs

[1:05:37] and all of these things and especially

[1:05:38] with grow lights and all this stuff

[1:05:39] there's just a lot of interference that

[1:05:41] we might not be able to hear but it

[1:05:42] doesn't mean it's not there and so with

[1:05:44] plants they feel the same way and so

[1:05:46] what i felt and from the energy of my

[1:05:48] room when i went in there is that they

[1:05:50] were able to take that sigh of relief

[1:05:51] too and go okay we're just gonna do what

[1:05:53] we're meant to do like they actually

[1:05:55] want you to do less right like they know

[1:05:57] what they need to do but the more that

[1:05:59] we have to be involved in the process in

[1:06:01] my experience the more that we're really

[1:06:02] just doing ourselves a disservice and

[1:06:04] the plan of the service because the

[1:06:05] plant and nature is going to be smarter

[1:06:07] at doing what it needs to do than we are

[1:06:09] and i think that's one of the common

[1:06:10] misbeliefs that i see a lot in the

[1:06:12] industry not to mention

[1:06:14] that there's this whole other

[1:06:15] qualitative side where

[1:06:17] i've done a lot of work on myself with

[1:06:19] medicines and also with self-development

[1:06:20] as well where now my energy has changed

[1:06:23] as well and i think that's a huge part

[1:06:24] of the equation and why i'm so like

[1:06:26] pumped up to make the next course we're

[1:06:28] making grow with cannabis because it's

[1:06:30] not just about how to grow cannabis it's

[1:06:32] growing with cannabis because i really

[1:06:35] feel this plant can help us grow but

[1:06:37] again it's not just up to the plant it's

[1:06:39] not a given it's not the plant's

[1:06:40] responsibility to do the work for us and

[1:06:43] so a big part of the program is how do

[1:06:44] you ensure that your energy is in the

[1:06:46] proper state before you walk into your

[1:06:48] cultivation facility or your cultivation

[1:06:50] room or your grow tent etc because i

[1:06:53] know from working in the industry most

[1:06:55] these growers are showing up either

[1:06:56] still drunk from the night before not

[1:06:58] making enough money working for a

[1:07:00] company that's soulless in nature that

[1:07:01] only cares about how cheap they can grow

[1:07:03] it and how much money they can make and

[1:07:05] so that energy really comes off and

[1:07:06] hamilton talks about this too where when

[1:07:08] you're interacting with any plant

[1:07:10] medicine but especially cannabis

[1:07:12] you are interacting with a level of

[1:07:13] consciousness of the grower who

[1:07:15] cultivated that medicine and so that's

[1:07:17] another huge component as to why people

[1:07:19] experience anxiety paranoia etc because

[1:07:22] it could be just left over from what

[1:07:23] that person was feeling when they

[1:07:25] cultivated the medicine and so there's

[1:07:26] this whole other realm that's harder to

[1:07:28] measure and so that's why i always start

[1:07:30] out with a more quantifiable and

[1:07:31] scientific way because i know science is

[1:07:33] a big thing these days but there is this

[1:07:35] whole other side that really is just

[1:07:36] science that's yet to be discovered it

[1:07:38] was what i truly believe but it is worth

[1:07:40] talking about because it's one of the

[1:07:42] things that is really hard to control

[1:07:43] right now even though cannabis is legal

[1:07:45] in most places or at least medical or

[1:07:47] decriminalized you really can't

[1:07:49] understand or figure out how to get the

[1:07:51] right medicine with the right energy

[1:07:53] unless you're cultivating yourself and

[1:07:55] the yaqui indians you know that don juan

[1:07:57] talks about they understood this when

[1:07:59] you read don juan's books they're like

[1:08:01] you have to grow it yourself right and

[1:08:02] they weren't necessarily working with

[1:08:03] cannabis but when i read that it really

[1:08:05] resonated with me because i was like

[1:08:07] this is what i've experienced and i

[1:08:08] hadn't heard it anywhere else until then

[1:08:10] now i've heard it in a bunch of

[1:08:11] different places but you know being able

[1:08:13] to cultivate your own medicine i think

[1:08:15] is the best way to be able to have a

[1:08:17] constructive co-creative relationship

[1:08:19] with this plant because it takes love it

[1:08:21] takes compassion it takes patience it

[1:08:22] takes a lot of the highest states of

[1:08:24] awareness that a human being seeks to

[1:08:26] enter to be able to interact with

[1:08:28] cannabis and cultivate in such a way and

[1:08:30] you're going to be able to notice that

[1:08:31] that final product if like your energy

[1:08:33] was off and so i love talking about that

[1:08:35] side of it as well

[1:08:37] yeah i think it can't be overstated how

[1:08:41] hubristic it is how cocky it is when

[1:08:45] humans think that we can understand

[1:08:48] nature and that's that could be soil

[1:08:51] that could be a plant that could be an

[1:08:53] ecosystem that could be the human body

[1:08:56] and then

[1:08:57] even more so people think they can

[1:08:59] understand how to manage all of those

[1:09:02] different things through their own

[1:09:04] top-down control mechanisms and i think

[1:09:07] it's like get the [ __ ] out of here like

[1:09:10] you're not god yeah you're not because

[1:09:13] god is every different perspective

[1:09:16] and that's what all of these things are

[1:09:19] every perspective of the

[1:09:20] plant kingdom the mineral kingdom the

[1:09:23] animal kingdom the human kingdom all of

[1:09:25] these different things interacting

[1:09:27] and there's what's needed is just kind

[1:09:30] of a bow of reverence like

[1:09:32] deep respect i can understand a little

[1:09:34] bit but i trust you i trust you that

[1:09:36] you're far more intelligent than i can

[1:09:38] ever be because you're comprised of so

[1:09:40] many more perspectives than i have

[1:09:43] absolutely you know it's one of the

[1:09:45] mantras i say when i'm interacting with

[1:09:46] any plant medicine is show me help me

[1:09:48] teach me because what i recognize is

[1:09:50] that i wouldn't be interacting with this

[1:09:52] plant if i didn't if i wasn't curious

[1:09:54] about something if i wasn't searching

[1:09:55] for something and so to the degree that

[1:09:58] i can empty myself before entering my

[1:09:59] room or before interacting with cannabis

[1:10:01] or any other medicine is the degree to

[1:10:03] which i'm able to actually receive

[1:10:05] messages from the plant but you know i

[1:10:07] always say that you know when i'm

[1:10:09] looking to interact with you know

[1:10:11] cannabis around some people or i'm

[1:10:12] facilitating a session for some people

[1:10:14] and they mentioned they're a little

[1:10:15] nervous i'm like that's a good thing

[1:10:17] right like you want to have a healthy

[1:10:19] amount of i wouldn't say fear but like

[1:10:21] you know nervousness around these

[1:10:22] medicines the people that really scare

[1:10:24] me the people that are like dude i'm

[1:10:26] fine just give me it i'm like

[1:10:28] that's the person that i don't want to

[1:10:29] have to play you know ketchup with if

[1:10:31] they have a really challenging

[1:10:32] experience and so that's one of the

[1:10:33] things that i think with nature and all

[1:10:35] of these things is realizing humbling

[1:10:36] ourselves and realizing that we're never

[1:10:38] going to really understand those things

[1:10:40] but we can respect them and then ask

[1:10:42] them to be like hey we know we're never

[1:10:44] going to be in your world but can you

[1:10:45] show us a little bit of it you know

[1:10:47] that's where i've gotten some really

[1:10:48] cool lessons from yeah for sure

[1:10:50] so people listening obviously there's a

[1:10:53] lot of people are going to want to try

[1:10:54] and experience your medicine and the way

[1:10:56] that the laws are very few people are

[1:10:57] actually going to be able to do it so

[1:11:00] tell us

[1:11:01] if that is possible you know how that

[1:11:04] could be possible and then for also the

[1:11:07] resources you mentioned a lot of

[1:11:08] different resources you're working on

[1:11:09] where can people find all that

[1:11:11] so right now there's no way for me to

[1:11:14] get my medicine into people's hands

[1:11:16] if you happen to be around me at a check

[1:11:18] workshop or when i'm coming out i'd be

[1:11:20] more than happy to interact with it with

[1:11:22] you and give you some experiences but

[1:11:24] what i really seek to do is to teach

[1:11:26] people through the two courses i have

[1:11:28] both how to connect with the medicine

[1:11:29] and connect with themselves deeper

[1:11:31] through connect with cannabis that's the

[1:11:32] first course and then how to cultivate

[1:11:34] their own medicine because being able to

[1:11:37] say put the seed in your mouth before

[1:11:39] you plant it and inoculate it with your

[1:11:40] own microbiome i mean it

[1:11:43] leads to this amazing experience this

[1:11:45] co-creative relationship that i feel is

[1:11:46] so powerful and so for anyone looking to

[1:11:49] uh get into either one of those courses

[1:11:51] you can find me on instagram at the

[1:11:53] railryan sprague s-p-r-a-g-u-e is my

[1:11:56] last name or on the business account at

[1:11:58] highly.optimize where we're giving out

[1:11:59] constant free tips things like that we

[1:12:01] also have a free facebook group where

[1:12:03] you can hop in we do plenty of webinars

[1:12:05] we do fun stuff in there you can hop in

[1:12:07] we do a lot of really off-the-cuff

[1:12:08] question and a question and answer type

[1:12:10] things and so those are the best places

[1:12:12] to get in touch with me but what i would

[1:12:13] say is that you know for anyone who is

[1:12:16] currently interacting with cannabis and

[1:12:17] maybe you don't know where your stuff is

[1:12:19] grown and you don't know who grow it and

[1:12:21] grew it but you have it and you're

[1:12:22] really interested in trying this out

[1:12:24] one of the things that i always suggest

[1:12:26] is that very similar to how if a dog has

[1:12:30] been in a really challenged environment

[1:12:31] that dog might be kind of standoffish to

[1:12:33] you even if you're a really nice person

[1:12:35] but after a while if that dog learns to

[1:12:37] trust you it'll be able to warm up to

[1:12:39] you even if it had a really challenged

[1:12:40] upbringing and so with cannabis you

[1:12:42] might not know how it was grown you

[1:12:44] might not know who grew it but if you

[1:12:45] could if you can really hold that

[1:12:47] medicine and speak to it and say hey i

[1:12:49] promise to hold your reverence and i

[1:12:51] promise to show you my love right in

[1:12:53] this experience i found that to be a

[1:12:55] really good way to not fully remediate

[1:12:57] but at least take a big step forward in

[1:12:59] being able to remediate what that

[1:13:01] medicine might have in it whose energy

[1:13:02] they might have in it how that was grown

[1:13:04] under what lights etc and so that would

[1:13:06] be a great place to start with if

[1:13:07] someone's like i really want to

[1:13:08] experience this with that kind of

[1:13:10] medicine you can be able to speak to

[1:13:12] this medicine in my experience and shift

[1:13:14] a little bit of that energy just by

[1:13:15] showing it like i know your true power

[1:13:17] and i promise to not just use you i

[1:13:19] promise to connect with you instead

[1:13:21] because that language switch is big in

[1:13:22] my experience yep yep and i just want to

[1:13:25] mention that you know for people in

[1:13:27] states that it's available uh a good

[1:13:29] source for ketamine if you're interested

[1:13:31] in exploring this and again this is not

[1:13:32] a recommendation you know go through the

[1:13:34] intake speak to the medical

[1:13:36] professionals that they have there but

[1:13:38] wonder sciences wonder med

[1:13:40] is the company that i work with

[1:13:43] to get really good ketamine lozenges

[1:13:46] that you can experience this and and you

[1:13:48] know treat this like like your church

[1:13:50] you know like like real sacrament and

[1:13:53] that's where you're going to get the

[1:13:54] real value out of it

[1:13:55] i met a guy recently who

[1:13:57] what he does is every sunday he'll sit

[1:13:59] with cannabis and just ask it show me

[1:14:01] what i'm ready to see right now and

[1:14:03] he'll just have a whiteboard and he'll

[1:14:04] write things out and he's like that is

[1:14:05] my church every sunday so it's funny you

[1:14:07] mentioned that yeah for sure well this

[1:14:09] is a real pleasure brother absolutely

[1:14:11] man thank you for having me on

[1:14:12] absolutely absolutely uh so much love

[1:14:15] for everybody tuning in again hopefully

[1:14:17] this information was helpful and it is

[1:14:18] not a recommendation or a cart blanche

[1:14:20] obviously hopefully we put enough

[1:14:21] caveats in here and i always want to

[1:14:23] emphasize that

[1:14:24] but it can be a really powerful tool

[1:14:26] when used in the right way so thanks for

[1:14:28] sharing the right energy and the right

[1:14:30] information about this incredibly

[1:14:32] powerful teacher thank you absolutely

[1:14:34] much love everybody peace love
