Sal Worringham is a yoga and meditation teacher and therapist who runs The Willow Clinic in Wonersh, near Guildford in Surrey. The clinic has two rooms, the Willow room and the Buddha Room, which her husband Tommi built with love. It sits at the back of her garden in the village, and she describes it as a place where a person can safely re-orient towards their true nature.
Sal has more than 30 years of study and personal practice behind her work. She describes a Sadhana, a daily practice of yoga, pranayama, asana, meditation, mantra and study, that she has kept for 30 years, and she has run meditation groups for 26 years. She guides people through enquiry and curiosity towards a life of balance and wholeness. Her own journey has drawn on meditation, EFT, mantra, Full 8 Limb Yoga, Bowen technique, Compassionate Inquiry, Internal Family Systems, and body and energy work including Reiki and Rahanni.
Her training includes 200 hours of Akhanda Yoga Teacher Training in London and at Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh, India. That covered 50 hours of Yin Yoga and 100 hours of Hatha Raja training. She is an insured member of The Yoga Alliance Professionals. More recently she has completed training in Compassionate Inquiry with Dr Gabor Maté, along with workshops in Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, and The Power of Awareness with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
Her meditation classes are run as a sangha, a community of people brought together. They offer a safe space for internal enquiry and complementary practice, with the aim of moving towards Ahimsa: non-violence, loving kindness and compassion for ourselves, others and the world. Her meditations on Insight Timer are recorded in the moment, unscripted but guided through her connection to consciousness. Alongside classes she offers Bowen therapy, one-to-one Compassionate Enquiry and energy work, and EFT, and she also runs workshops and retreats with fellow practitioners.
Sal says her passion is learning and sharing techniques that support emotional wellness by uncovering the core beliefs, defences and coping strategies that keep us in stress and repetitive patterns. Clients describe her as kind, gentle and intuitive. A percentage of earnings from her meditation and yoga classes goes to charity.
Worth Knowing
Sal Worringham is a yoga teacher, meditation teacher, and therapist based at The Willow Clinic in Wonersh, Surrey, where she draws on over 30 years of continuous study and personal practice to guide seekers toward emotional wellness and self-knowledge. What sets her apart is the depth of her training—200 hours in Akhanda yoga (combining Yin and Hatha Raja traditions), formal study in Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Gabor Maté, and additional certification in Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, and Tara Brach's Power of Awareness work. Her teaching integrates yoga, meditation, mantra, energy work, and somatic practice in a way that moves beyond asana-focused yoga studios; she's equally comfortable holding space for long-term meditation students as she is working one-to-one with clients using Bowen therapy, EFT, and Compassionate Enquiry. Students value her for her combination of rigorous traditional training and her willingness to draw from contemporary trauma-informed therapeutic frameworks—she's neither a pure traditionalist nor a new-age generalist, but someone who has woven three decades of daily sadhana into a genuinely integrative practice. The fact that she donates a percentage of earnings from her meditation and yoga classes to charity reflects her commitment to serving beyond the clinic walls.
