Kemi Nekvapil is an ICF credentialed coach, author and international speaker who works with women who want to live and lead without apology. She describes herself as one of Australia's leading credentialed coaches for female executives and entrepreneurs, with nearly a decade of ethical coaching and thirty years of personal and professional development behind her.
Her own story shapes the work. Raised as a black child by five sets of white foster parents, she learned early to be grateful, to never ask for more and to never rock the boat. In her words, "My story is not my excuse - it's my why." Her mission is to create a safe coaching space where women can own their worth and honour themselves, and to break down the cultural myths around asking and worthiness that many learn in childhood.
Kemi is the author of The Gift of Asking, POWER (an Australian bestseller) and Grounded Success. She has studied leadership and purpose at The Gross National Happiness Centre in Bhutan. She is a former Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, trained with Dr Brené Brown. She hosts The Shift Series podcast and has interviewed Elizabeth Gilbert, Martha Beck and Marie Forleo. Her own podcast, The Kemi Nekvapil Podcast, draws on coaching conversations and personal stories to show how a better life can come "one shift, one action, at a time."
She also leads women's retreats built around reflection, replenishment and renewal, with time in nature, writing, creativity, rest and group coaching. Kemi visited Uganda with The Hunger Project in 2013 and now facilitates for their Australian and overseas projects. The organisation believes empowering women is the most powerful way to end poverty.
Her core values are connection, growth and well-being. She describes herself as a feeling person and a person of meaningful action, with no agenda and no judgment.
Worth Knowing
Kemi Nekvapil is an ICF credentialed executive coach, author, and international speaker with nearly a decade of professional coaching practice and three decades of personal development work behind her. Her appeal lies not in generic empowerment rhetoric, but in the specificity of her mission: helping women executives and entrepreneurs own their worth and lead without apology. She's built a reputation as one of Australia's leading credentialed coaches for female leaders while simultaneously reaching international audiences through her podcast work, speaking engagements, and three published books. What distinguishes her from the broader coaching landscape is her willingness to center her own story—raised as a Black child by five sets of white foster parents—as the framework for understanding the cultural myths and learned patterns that constrain many women's lives. People engage with her work because she refuses the performance of detached expertise; instead, she models how personal narrative and professional rigor can coexist. Her presence in podcasts featuring figures like Elizabeth Gilbert, Martha Beck, and Marie Forleo signals that she's recognized as a peer among major voices in women's personal development and leadership.
