Claritta Martin is a meditation teacher and psychodynamic psychotherapist. She says metta, compassion and self-compassion are her passion, for her clients, for herself and for the world. She works in German and English.
She is a trained teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), the course developed by Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff. Her courses help people build self-kindness, a sense of common humanity and a balanced, mindful awareness. The aim is to strengthen what the course describes as the emotional immune system, and to support resilience and emotional intelligence. In practice, that can mean a gentler relationship with an inner critic. It can also mean a steadier footing for those who tend to care for others at their own expense, which helps guard against empathy fatigue.
Claritta has been in private practice as a psychodynamic psychotherapist since 1999. Her work draws on guided affective imagery, somatic experiencing, EMDR and work with attachment trauma. She also wrote the chapter on forgiveness in the book "Therapie-Tools Selbstmitgefühl".
